I appreciate the fact that ICP brought up their "homophobic" lyrics in the past (I put homophobic in quotes, because it obviously wasn't meant to be hateful, I know back then, the F slur wasn't always used to refer to someone who is gay, it was usually used as an emasculating term, like sissy or bitch, if that makes sense) and actually apologized for it.
so many rappers defend their use of the word by being like "yOu'Re AcTiNg LiKe I'm ThE fIrSt RaPpEr To UsE tHaT wOrD" or saying they didn't mean it... even though it was clearly used in a hurtful way towards queer people.
but ICP just straight up admit, they were ignorant and thought they were just being gangster rappers, and didn't fully understand how hurtful those words are, and acknowledged how much it must suck to be a queer Juggalo/Juggalette and having to be subjected to those hurtful words when listening to their music.
even though, ICP didn't really use it much, I mean, I've listened to almost every ICP album from the late 90's and early 2000's, and they rarely ever used the F slur, so, they didn't really have to apologize, in my opinion, but I appreciate that they did anyway.
though, me personally, as a queer Juggalo, I never felt personally attacked when Violent J or Shaggy 2 Dope used the F slur, like I did when I'd listen to artists like Eminem, I understand that some of the gay jokes might be a little tasteless, but considering what a majority of ICP songs are about, it doesn't feel personal or out of place, because that's just their brand of shock-humor, but again, that's just me personally.
