For more than 100 years, Victorinox has equipped Swiss soldiers with pocket knives. This tradition will be continued with a new, special model. The requirements of the Swiss Army have increased, however.
Suitability for military use, safety, quality and a good price-performance ratio are the preconditions that the new pocket knife effortlessly fulfils.
Only the best stainless steel will be used for the production of the blade, the wood saw, the can opener with screwdriver 3mm, cap lifter with screwdriver 7mm lockable and wire stripper, the Philips screwdriver and the reamer and punch tool.
In addition, the cutting blade has been given a serrated edge and can be opened with one hand. The blade and the screwdriver are locked after being opened. And the technology also doesn't stop at the grip shells. A two-component plastic gives the Soldier's Knife a better grip than all its predecessors and lends the tool that extra something. And, of course, the new Victorinox- Soldier's Knife is also low maintenance.
    Functions:
Serrated large blade with one-hand opening
    Woodsaw
    Can opener
    Screwdriver
    Bottle opener
    Wire stripper
    Keyring
    Phillips screwdriver
    Length: 111 mm
    Weight: 126 grams

I have the US Army version which has blackened tools. One suggestion I would make, reprofile the blade. If you've got the skill with a grinder and are good at sharpening, you could remove most of if not all of the serrated edge. I think this would make it more useful as a bushcraft tool.

This is one of my favourites. Not to carry on me every day but I use it around home often.

I EDC a Victorinox compact, but for work or camping my German Soldier is my go-to knife. The scales are different, but for all intents and purposes it's the same knife. I consider it a forever tool: the knife I will keep and use till it breaks or I die.

I carry it everyday with me, it's a bit unconfortable at times but it has never let me down

I prefer the forester as you have the scale tools and the corkscrew can keep a ferro rod or small screwdriver for my glasses

I have the Forester M Grip, which seems like the sane as your knife, byt with the straight edge blade and corkscrew instead. I carry it often.
I also have the Ranger Grip 78, which also features the straight edge blade and a button liner lock. I love this knife, but since the Forester is just a splash smaller, I keep the Ranger Grip in my 'oh shit' bag instead, in the event that I need to bug in/out. I have used it for trail clearing and all manner of camp tasks prior to putting it in the bag though.

Yes, I have ordered the Forester too. They have been discontinued and I am interested to see which works better for me. I personally favourite the straight edge blade although the serrated blade has its use outdoors. I am also torn between the Corkscrew and Philips head. I have not used the Philips head outdoors as I had anticipated.
