Definitely a great beginner quad. I started my kids out on a cheap 50cc quad then graduated them to a Raptor 250. Teaching them to shift gears was a game changer for them. 👍🏻
So this quad states 14 and up, I would assume it would be fine for a 12 year old? I am looking into one and feel my child will outgrow the 110 too fast. Any thoughts?
FYI on the 2020 and 2021 there's a plastic collar on the primary clutch that prevents the belt from rising up when you accelerate remove it and it will top out around 52mph.
Hi yes I would like your honest opinion about this quad. I can grab a 2022 for $3500 and my son is 9 going to be 10 would this be a great upgrade from a 90 or should I look at something else. He a has KFX 90 and that does about 30 is he going to see a great deal more speed or should I try to get him on to something that has a clutch. Please let me know your thoughts.
I usually turn the gas off but I don't drain the carburetor It doesn't usually sit without running for more than a week or two tops. I always make sure I run all the machines if they're not being used. I keep seafoam or fuel stabilizer in the fuel at all times as well
I need help. I got this atv for my daughter. It set for bout a month cause we was out of town. Now it fires but it won't start. Then it did start finally and let it warm up and it rode for a bit and then died out. It was sputtering while riding it also. Go to throttle more and it would try to die out. Now it turns over but don't start. Any ideas?
@@defthades476 If he's never ridden before I suggest finding a Raptor 350 or a warrior 350 it's the same bike very easy to learn how to use the clutch on those machines and the power is enough but not too much for a beginner. I do not recommend a raptor 700 or a any 450 for a beginner. Its way to much power.
Hello, pls someone answer, I am going to buy a 250cc. I’m stuck between a raptor 250 and a can am ds 250. Which one should I buy? My opinion is the raptor 250 is better looking and better sounding, but too expensive. Someone please tell me which is better
@@biglol5275 it's not all about top end speed You're not driving top speed when you're going through trails or any type of riding really You're varying your speed constantly and the acceleration from the Raptor to the DS250 is not even close. It’s a crappy quad but I put mine thru a lot but I have had mine 2 years it’s beat up and crappy. But the motor is good it’s been sunk and still runs good so they got good motors but everything else is 👎

The raptor 350 will be a fun next step for sure. She had it out yesterday for the first time. She did great.

@@rywyd3853 You’re exactly right. Put your child on what you think is best. Giving them some room to grow into the quad is definitely ok…
@@rywyd3853Yes that's what I did. My daughter was about that age when I put her on the quad, it is not very powerful.

I'll be honest with you top speed on this machine is about 38 to 39 mph. It's not very fast but it's much larger machine and more capable than a 90.
Do you normally turn the gas “off” and drain the carb if you let it Sit for over a week?

@@OdysseyOffroad Gotcha!
i had mine for 12 years and never changed the oil until yesterday 💀🙏🏿 and what abt the transmission fluid? where it's located on this thing to change?
Haven't owned it in a while but if I remember correctly it's close to the front sprocket I believe on the side of the motor but I could be wrong.
The Can AM site says its fuel injected, but I keep hearing about carburetor issues?
This machine is not fuel injected it is carbureted .
Thanks man great info
Ty ! Glad it helped!
Its a Kymco Maxxer 250, so every thing from the Maxxer fits the DS
How’s the power to size compare to that outlaw 110?
That's a tough question, the ds 250 is a full size atv. It's more capable because of that but by no means is it fast.
i still think a good air filter would make a world of difference for these machines
Definitely wouldn't hurt. If i kept it. An airbox mod was going to be next.
@@OdysseyOffroad did you have one in mind? The airbox is a little odd on these things
I was going to add the uni 1" airbox filters. Basically 1 inch holes and pop in the uni's they come 6 in a pack.

Pull the jets out of the carburetor and clean them. They're clogged. Always keep fuel stabilizer in the gas.

I bought one of these for my daughter and I’m having a hard time finding aluminum wheels for it where did you find yours?
4x110 bolt pattern same as honda. Front and rear.

I wouldn't call it crappy but they're not very fast and there's not many mods out there for it those are the two things that are major downfalls.
Your right
So how much are you selling it for?
