I always understood this version of cain as he killed his brother, and got punished by god with immortality and the punishment is that there is no purpose to him. Thats why its torture for him and he is trying to die. If he will have any relation to story its not because its his purpose but more in my opinion what he did to spend the time on something while he is alive.

Cain is still human, killing his brother dosn't necessary mean he's a sociopath or psychopath, he still got feelings, but when you've been around for thousands of years, they may get a bit blunt.

This season is all over the place with crazy charator choices. But still get some great episodes. The move to Netflix just made the show so much better.

Well... for the question "why is he there?" it's just because he doesn't have a choice. his punishment is to be immortal so he can't really go anywhere. He came to LA because if the devil could be hurt, maybe he could too. that's just what he said here. after such a long time, I figure that he pretty much tried everything else to die. if he cares about someone, eventually those people will die eventually and he will be alone so he's not getting attached to anyone anymore.

7:25 He was strangled by the ripcord on his surfboard.
Doesn't take much strength to strangle someone with a ripcord , i would guess due to the leverage.

Cain killed his brother. Used Chloe and could’ve gotten her hurt. He’s The Sinnerman so back when people that Luci did favors for started showing up dead, he had to have had a hand in it. He then killed his adopted kid because he didn’t want him to spill his secrets. (I think) I mean what even was the point of that if was going to tell Luci here what he was doing? It was too soon I guess?

Lucifer has changed so much since he first met Chloe, although he does still mess up quite a bit it's not meant maliciously, it's just him and millennia of emotional baggage. As for Cain it will become all too apparent what he's up to, but if you go back a few episodes you can see where it's going and even in this episode there are some really clear hints. Really enjoyed the reaction and will see you next time.

All About Her- Thank you for another great reaction for Lucifer, Dakara! Overall... I enjoy this episode. It has its flaws like most episodes of any show of course, but I really enjoy the overall major storyline between not only Lucifer and Cain, but between Lucifer and Chloe as well.
First… I love that this episode picks back up right away with where Lucifer's confrontation with Cain inside LUX left off back in the previous episode... The Sin Bin. If there is one scene that I would say is my favorite throughout this episode, I would definitely say this one is it, followed closely by Lucifer’s second and third confrontations with Cain throughout this episode as well, which I will come back to shortly…
I love how Lucifer questions Pierce, who chooses to remain as Pierce to simply make things easier... on why he has done all he has and how he has supposedly stolen his Devil face and returned his wings to him, only to learn that Pierce isn't actually involved in what's changing him. I also like learning more about Cain's curse too. How he's immortal and can't die, yet that he still feels all the pain of death from however he might get hurt, such as from Lucifer stabbing him or from him getting shot before as well and then heals fairly quickly in spite of still being mostly human.
We also learn a little more about Cain's relationship with his former stooge who pretended to be the Sinnerman this whole time in order to throw everyone off from ever learning the truth that Pierce is the real Sinnerman, since he had raised the thug from when he was a young boy, only for the guy to eventually go rogue, which is the reason why Pierce shot him. To keep him quiet about the truth and from going too far in his own dangerous and crooked dealings. And when Pierce denies being the one to return Lucifer's wings to him and to steal his Devil face, Lucifer doesn't believe him and becomes very angry when Pierce then walks away from him in order to leave without Lucifer getting his answers, as Lucifer threatens to tell Chloe and the others the truth about who he really is. However, Pierce is unfazed by his threat because he knows well enough that Chloe, Dan, Ella, and anyone else would never believe him. And upon recognizing this too, Lucifer suddenly screams and throws the knife at one of the club's walls out of anger, for failing to learn anything helpful.
In their second confrontation when Lucifer comes to speak with Cain inside the surveillance truck, I love that we learn that Pierce had been the one who hired someone to knock Lucifer out and leave him out in the desert in order to get him out of the way long enough so he could use Chloe somehow to help him die, only for Lucifer to return early upon him unexpectedly gaining his wings back.
In this scene, we also learn Pierce had called the killer who had shot him and nearly killed Chloe back in this season's fourth episode... What Would Lucifer Do?, in order to warn the guy, knowing how he would react to the police coming to arrest him. And while I like this twist and that we finally figure out what felt so off about this scene back then, a part of me also hates that he sets them up to get shot at, all in the hope of learning whether or not being near Chloe would be enough so that he can actually die, as we learn that Cain's truest desire is to be able to die after being cursed to remain alive on Earth for thousands and thousands of years in endless time in punishment for killing his own brother, Abel. I think my pet peeve with this revelation, comes from feeling like Lucifer is written to shake Pierce nearly getting Chloe killed off far too easily. Ever since the Pilot episode, we've seen just how quickly and quick Lucifer is to become angry upon seeing those he cares about, as well as innocents getting hurt because of the sins of those who hurt them. Especially Chloe. And we've seen how afraid for Chloe and how shaken Lucifer is upon learning she had almost gotten killed in What Would Lucifer Do?. So for Lucifer to suddenly and strangely just seem to shake it off like it's no real big deal outside of raising his voice a little... I kind of hate this because it just doesn't make sense to me. I would have liked to see Lucifer become much more angry with Pierce for doing this. But... c'est la vie. I understand his mind is trying to cope with everything he’s learn recently about Pierce really being Cain, but… I feel this moment could have been written a little differently in order to help Lucifer remain more in character.
In regards to Lucifer’s and Chloe’s struggles to be partners on account of his selfishness in seeking Chloe’s help in spite of everything that happened between them in the previous episode, The Sin Bin… Lucifer can most certainly get so caught up in his head and has an exceedingly difficult time focusing on anything else even when other things are far more important than what he’s dealing with. And this always comes off with him acting in his own self interest, even though he never truly means to ever hurt Chloe. Which… I am very grateful that this is proven towards the ending of this episode.
Unfortunately, Lucifer and Chloe are still very much butting heads through most of this episode as Chloe is struggling to forgive Lucifer for his mistakes with the Sinnerman and his strange attempts to get back into her good graces by making everything he does supposedly all about her. I hate seeing Chloe so angry and so at odds with Lucifer. Lucifer is definitely in the wrong and he doesn’t always think about her needs and how he’s upsetting her by acting in the way he is. And yes... Lucifer messes up a lot throughout this episode. It's sad, annoying, frustrating, etc... Yet underneath it all, I understand that Lucifer is really only trying to do all he does because he is desperate to remain her partner and because he's afraid she won't want him to be so for much longer.
And this brings me to my absolute favorite moment within this episode... when Chloe asks Lucifer why he is still there trying to make things right between them in spite of him no longer needing her help on his own investigation on how to deal with Cain, to which Lucifer heartbreakingly answers somberly... "Because this case matters to you. Therefore it matters to me. We're partners, Detective." And I absolutely love the look in his eyes as he says this to her. He is truly sincere and you can see the sadness behind them as well. And Chloe finally understands and is grateful to him for finally revealing to her that he is still there for her, as we can see in her eyes when she simply stares at him after the initial shock of his revelation wears off. This is truly a beautiful moment between them. I appreciate that in spite of their troubles, they both manage to work things out when Lucifer says the right words that truly show her how he feels about her. About helping her solve this case, as well as all of their other cases together.

Back in 3x04, I told you there was something about that episode I'd point out once you knew enough. Well, the time has come! In the hospital scene with Chloe and Pierce after Pierce was shot, Chloe gives him a speech about how precious and fleeting life is. Now that you know his deepest desire is to die, it's worth going back to take another look at his reaction! The expressions on his face... ☺

11:45 I mean hes human so hes on earth by default 😂😂. I think your used to talking about angels and demons.
If you mean more why he is the way he is? He murdered his brother and God cursed him with Immortality and now he wants to die.
Lucifers Immortality is a gift he never feels pain. But Caine's is more like a Curse he just wants it to end.

Next... while I am still a bit frustrated with Maze from The Sinnerman episode, I appreciate her efforts to try to help Chloe comes to terms with Lucifer's decision to go against her before when dealing with the Sinnerman on his own. Unfortunately, she comes to suspect both Linda and Amenadiel are continuing to hide something big from her and by the end of the episode, she catches them kissing on a date after she begins to follow them to learn the truth. Had Linda been brave enough to tell the truth, things might have been different and Maze might have eventually come to understand why they have gone behind her back to date in spite of their promise not to. But now... Maze is beyond angry and I have to admit that I really come to hate her character arc from here on out for the rest of the season. And it’s so sad, because I do love Maze. But... I will talk more about her storyline in the episodes to come.
As for the case itself... as simple as the killer's motive for murder may be, I really enjoy the case overall. And I enjoy Dan's involvement in it when he is asked to go undercover in a sting operation to try to lure out their suspects, who actually turn out to be very close friends with the ma who had been killed.
I love, love, love the scene between Lucifer and Chloe on the beach once they come together again and work to trick their killer into confessing to her crime. I love seeing how easily they are able to manipulate her into talking by goading the woman and making her angry enough to make a full confession, during which she comes to say something that helps Lucifer to understand what to do next in regards to Pierce and his immortality problem.
And then… in the ending, we have one final confrontation between Lucifer and Cain, as Lucifer reveals to Cain that he’s come up with a new way of sticking it to his father for the both of them, and offers Cain a deal. Lucifer will now work on finding a way to finally help him die once and for all, which in exchange will help him to rebel further against God. I really like the idea of seeing them come together in order to solve this new dilemma.
While I do like Tom Welling in Smallville as Clark Kent/Superman, Tom Welling’s acting as Pierce isn’t all that great. He’s very dry and his character is kind of boring. This is just one of the many reasons why I continue to hate the strangeness between him and Chloe, and how Chloe’s character is written throughout this season, seeing as she’s always so awkward around him and because they are trying to create a bond between them that just isn’t there. At least not in any way that I see. I hate it! Tom Ellis is by far the stronger actor between them, and in any scene between Lucifer and Cain... Tom Ellis by far outshines Tom Welling. I love the idea of Pierce really being Cain and I like his new team up with Lucifer so they can figure out how to help him die. I just wish that Pierce’s overarching story all throughout season three was written differently.
And lastly… I really enjoy Ella’s side story throughout this episode as she’s struggling to figure out how to continue to act after her having been wrongly yelled at by Pierce in the end of the previous episode... The Sin Bin. Not just how to act especially around Pierce, who she strangely sees as some big hero, but also around everyone else as well. However, it’s Charlotte who unexpectedly comes to be the one who offers her the advice Ella needs and I absolutely love this. I love how Charlotte encourages her to stand up for herself and to find her voice no matter what Pierce or anyone else thinks of her. Which allows for her to finally tell Pierce off in the end by demanding an apology from him for treating her so harshly once she takes Charlotte’s advice and stands up for herself. Also… I really love and appreciate how Charlotte also defends Ella to Pierce and threatens him if he ever hurts Ella again. Thankfully, Pierce does apologize to Ella with genuine sincerity, which I also appreciate.
Overall… I enjoy this episode for a majority of it in spite of its flaws here and there. I especially love seeing Lucifer and Chloe come back together again, and I continue to remain intrigued by what’s to come between Lucifer and Cain now that they’re working together to help him die.
Thank you for another great reaction! I’m looking forward to more Lucifer! Unfortunately, the next episode for me is another one of my absolute least favorite episodes throughout season three, as well as throughout the entire show. But it has some good moments too. I’m looking forward to your reaction. Until then, my friend...
    Sincerely,
    Heidi

Cain is the world's first murderer, he is one of Adam and Eve's children and he murdered his brother Abel, which in this show earned him divine punishment and caused God to curse him with immortality so he would have to live with his crime forever. Mark of Cain is much different in Lucifer than in Supernatural

Well this episode is so interesting and hilarious.. All that Deckerstar nearly crushing because of Lucifer's misunderstanding that he unintentionally betrayed Chloe and almost broke her trust... But he tried so hard and finally won her again simply being honest and open-hearted. Yes and I liked that finally Amenadiel and Linda came together... I say I felt so bad for Maze but she did her own choice earlier breaking up with Amenadiel. Of course, and all that Cain & Lucifer deal. Both of them were punished by God for different reasons that's why they are now like partners. But wait, next episode is so hilarious 🤣 I love it, can't wait for your reaction on it 👍
