St Teresa of Ávila (March 28, 1515 - October 4, 1582) was a prominent Carmelite nun and Spanish mystic. St Teresa had many mystical experiences she tried to reflect in poems. She took an active role in the Carmelite order and was later canonised a saint by the Roman Catholic church.

Samaneri I look forward to these uploads each week, so much! I looked at your Viveka Hermitage site the other day and saw that you were in the UK for a while. I googled Amāravati and lo and behold it's in Hemel where I used to live in the old town with my husband for a few years! We now live in Leighton Buzzard so I am going to go to the evening Puja tomorrow night. What a small world. Thank you for this beautiful channel. I listen to something everyday but one of my favourites is Madam Guyon (I learn something new every time I listen) and the stunning Rumi ones. Love and light to you.

In the stillness of my being, when my thoughts were suddenly suspended, at the moment I least expected it, my heart spoke to me, shouting exaltedly: I LOVE YOU GOD! My God, I love you!
Every pulse in my chest confirmed this, elevating my spirit in a way that I could never conceive with my so-called intellect or accumulated knowledge.
I saw the structures of time-space fade in a loving and gentle way, revealing a pattern, a circuit of light and crystalline energy extending on all sides, like a woven web connecting all creation in joy and delight!
The love of God found its place in my heart after I had let go of everything that I so foolishly think that I knew.
Awakening that part of me that had once been dormant, opening my eyes as if for the very first time.
I felt like I was in a climax of experience or sexual ecstasy, a joy beyond the limits of time, like a child on Christmas morning.
The simplicity of simply breathing captivated me... This energy that enveloped me ended up saturating this entire Universe with its unconditional love. Without partiality, it filled my entire being and everything that my senses perceived.
All the accumulated knowledge, every repeated and celebrated phrase, every truth that I had on the tip of my tongue, does not compare to the love that involuntarily arises in my heart at this moment... Tears, tears... In the stillness of my being, in the stillness of my being, I can feel and see. I can relax and know that there is something greater than my personal conceptions, guiding my every step, restoring that sense that we once shared as one and that now becomes conscious to remind me of who I am and why I am truly here.
Rise up in me, Lord, reveal Yourself in me as You did with the prophets and mystics of old!
Let the Earth glorify Your Name through the love that overflows in me!

As the Lord Jesus Christ taught the disciples, “Love one another, as I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples.” Selfless love is the most precious and sacred gift of Love we can ever give of ourselves and it does not boast about it. 🤍 It is a mere act of love and kindness of the spirit which we have received from the Holy Spirit. Indeed, many paths appear to lead up to the same mountain as we do acts of kindness and love towards others. But the Lord Jesus Christ has given us all the things we need to have in order to receive Eternal Life in Jesus Christ.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me. “
This means that He is the only one who can make Heaven available for all who want to see and experience the glory and splendor of all the magnificent wondrous things that are there in the ever after. ✨✨✨🕊️

Saint Teresa, one of the actual few who were enlightened, within the christian theology.. and so of course she was tried for her revelations, that were seen as heresy.. lol
It's also true very rapidly she gained such a massive reputation, that she was almost made the Patron of Spain (instead of the Apostle Santiago himself!). She was not a marginal figure by any stretch of the imagination... Possibly she became the most popular Spanish saint.
St. John of the Cross, on the other hand, was made a Saint much later and there seem to have been more suspicions against him.
I am Spanish and it turns out there were a lot of mystics similar to her at the time, even before her... Francisco de Osuna, from whom she got a lot of inspiration, says similar things for instance. I would even go as far as to say that her spirituality was the mainstream in for a long time in many monasteries...
