- This is a reading from the first section of Benner's book, The Impersonal Life.
Joseph Sieber Benner (January 3, 1872 - September 24, 1938) was an American author, New Thought writer, member of the Lutheran Church, and Representative of the Brotherhood of Christ who used the pen name "Anonymous". He was the first to introduce the Knowledge and Teachings of Impersonal Life (also known as the "I AM" Teaching) to the Western world in this, his first book, published in 1914.

Students of Advaita Vedanta should perhaps listen to this as most passages are presented like the Voice of Brahman revealing her/himself but within the Christian Mystical tradition. All religions are spokes in the wheel all leading to the same centre of liberation 🙏

I love this one. So clear and direct. As I listen to these words of the Masters on this site it seems clear that, in one way or another, most or all of them say similar things, even things that are identical, even when they come from different parts of the world, from different traditions, and 1000 years apart. I find this to be quite comforting and confirming, and it allows me to accept and trust what is said faster than I might otherwise be able to. That is one reason why I so appreciate the vast array of spiritual traditions and time frames that are presented here.

Elvis Presley was extremely fond of this modern scripture, cognized by Rev Joseph Benner around 1914 and published anonymously until near his death. Elvis had many copies of this and would give them to everyone he met. I first heard about it from Wayne Dyer who was similarly fascinated by it and was researching it deeply when he passed away. It's honestly amazing to me how similar the words of this man are to the words of Sri Nisargadatta. It demonstrates to me that the reality is not to be bound by any religious creed, tradition or sect. Reality is unbound, which many have attempted to express in an endless variety of ways. Yet, always remaining pure in essence, the one reality is by nature beyond all expression. It is. I AM. Amen.
Reality is not subject to any belief system. To renounce every belief, is to have a chance to recognise reality.

This seems to be a very well channeled and written book. Blessings to Benner for bringing it forth. And blessings to the woman who created this audio reading of it. She does so thoughtfully. The pauses between sentences are spell bounding and really allow these words to perform the magic that the word of God needs to allow the center of your brain to BE the place where the God in you to come forth. This is such a jewel. Thank you.
A lot of folks at the time thought his use of the words 'I AM' was confusing - purposefully opaque. Yet Benner's writing helps me understand the link between all of us.

Within without inner sensory of my eyes on the cell rod and cone, I cannot see colors and lights outside
Within without inner ears fluids I cannot balance my selves to stand and walk
Within without inner ears vibration drum I cannot hear anything properly from outside
Without inner works on my heartbeats, digestion, healings, all the organ functions, circadian rhythms, sleeps I cannot live at outside at all
I am being operated from within. There's nothing to chase since everything is taken care & blessed ❤
In the stillness I transcends to the I am who's beyond time and space. From the eternal space the whole universe existed from the big bang and has ended in no time. My external personalities that were scattered and formed thru space and time almost do not exist from the infinite space

He wasn't the first to introduce I am to the West. It was actually Ballard who made a movement out of it in 1930-ties.
He got his inspiration and knowledge from theosophy being an avid student of it.
It was actually Blavatsky who brought the wisdom from (esoteric) buddhism, advaita, mysticisme etc... to the West.
She called it theosophy (divine wisdom, wisdom religion) and was founder of the theosophical movement. A misunderstood woman by the masses 😊
Her knowledge was vast and encompasses almost everything. She would not have liked the I AM movement that Ballard founsed with too much personal interpretations 😊
