I took a train from Brussels to Bruges and I had to keep checking to see if we were still moving. The train was so fast and smooth. I took a train from Kingston to Toronto and by the time I got there I felt like I had been beaten up. Our trains here in Canada are horrible and it cost me $260.00 for a 2 and a half hour ride. You are so far ahead of us.

Yes, the architecture of the train stations in Europe are so beautiful and grand!! I noticed when you were on the escalator in the Antwerp Station, you were going down and then you flatten out and moved like a moving sidewalk and went back to hoing down. That was on timing 21:03!! That was too cute for that escalator machine!! Also, you made me laugh at both times about the small tiny cute meal served in Premium Class!! ☺ Smile And then, I like you, would get up and go to the cafe!! Hahaha!! Yes, I saw the prices and I still would buy from. Yes, Europe's train systems are better than our here on the USA. And the biggest attraction is that the stations are locationed in the downtown city hubs. That is so nice!! I had that experience for me some years ago going from Paris, France to London, UK on the Eurostar!! If I would have flown it would have taken more time to and from airports and then to and from downtowns.

I traveled with Eurostar from St. Pancras (where I spent a night at the beautiful Renaissance Hotel) to Bruxelles in Standard Premier and further on with Thalys in Premium last month. Experience in Eurostar was fine: Highly motivated crew, having fun and serving a simple, but really delicious meal, new and clean seats. Experience in Thalys was poor: One unmotivated crew member, serving a little cold something to eat in a wore out and dirty coach. I really hope, that Eurostar will bring their standards to run down Thalys in the merger...

Used them a lot for work trips - all business class seating, a more effective use of time than flying Amsterdam-Paris. The toilets are dirty fast without any cleaning effort to recover, and the wifi sucks for many years. The seats feel and look in need of replacement. One trip; you can buy quality sandwiches at the train station and ignore the food on the train - also saves you waiting on them to remove the services are use.

The use of capital letters and the exclamation mark adds excitement and grabs the reader's attention. Additionally, mentioning specific cities like Amsterdam and Paris appeals to travelers interested in these destinations. Overall, the title effectively conveys the key points and encourages potential readers to learn more about the Eurostar first-class service and the high-speed train experience between these two iconic European cities.

Thalys trains need a bit of a face lift. Really worn out and grubby. I have travelled on Thalys Premium class a couple of times and from my personal experience, quality of service just keeps going downwards with every year. Few years ago a "delicious meal" at your seat used to be exactly that. A plentyful and delicious meal, good portions and quite the variety. Nowadays it's just not worth paying for Premium when you receive a standard light meal at your seat. The only advantage of Premium is still the lounge access (where you have), the flexible ticket conditions and the spacious /not so crowded cabin. Food as well as services on board need some improvement.

I like the way that you did not only show the train but also the most beautiful stations that it passes, like Amsterdam Central, Antwerp Central and Paris Gare du Nord. Some remarks though: the Gare du Nord is not the only station for fast trains. The trains to and from Germany stop at the almost adjacent Gare de l'Est. And the images of the surroundings the train passes were different from the route you describe: the train passed the station of Haarlem (also interesting though), at some point you show the part between Brussels Midi and Paris, but used the images from the part between Haarlem and Leiden. It seems to me that the train wore the name of Thalys, whereas nowadays the name on the old Thalys has also changed tot Eurostar, although the livery stayed the main colouring of Thalys. Nowadays most trains with that livery have a slightly different colouring and the interiorhas been refurbished.

Shame they don't let you know if it's going to be the old or new train, but I understand how difficult it would limit flexibility if they did. @@StefanWithTrains Yes I am aware that competition might arrive. But it won't be "soon" and many details need to be finally. I mean will there be space for these new services at Paris Nord ?

well I am a former Flight Attendant here in the US. When I started flying in the 80’s we really had a nice First Class service , I Flew for the then USAir. But things kept getting worse as the decades went on so YES! That “Meal” is ridiculous but it’s a lot more then what you will get on a 3-4 hour fight in America today and it’s very sad what has happened to service, there just isn’t any service anymore… and I almost forgot! We don’t even have a real rail system in America. All we have is government subsidized Amtrak or AmTrash..it’s a joke

your video, as always, is amazing, it's really well made and relaxing to watch (and makes me want to travel so much), but what a disappoinment this train! what kind of food is that?! and it seriously need a refurbishment 😓

I was on the Thalys in premium car with my son in 2015, traveling from Antwerp to Amsterdam. At that time they actually served a meal though I don't remember what it was. Looks like there's been some cost-cutting.

Today you have to upgrade to the top class for onboard catering.

@@alexmcwhirter6602 This video was about the top class, and the catering is tepid compared to when I took the train. That's what was saying.

Hmm.. That Eurostar trip definitely doesn't look very premium. But at least efficient and quiet. Your safari looks amazing. I have been on quite a few but never seen leopard and hyenas so close and relaxed.

The food on Eurostar London to Paris was definitely better in Premium Class, even Business Premium actually. Probably a little more expensive per mile, excluding promotions on either service?

Oh man, if you think that food is a disgrace (and it is), take the Amtrak from New York to Montreal, or New York to Chicago sometime. 😆 That said, the new Moynihan Train Hall in NYC really is beautiful, and suggest you check it out next time you're in the Big Apple. :) Great video though, as always - Antwerp's station is beautiful.

The merger was 'kept' quiet, hardly any mention of it in the UK.
