    1 Family Reunion Visa in Belgium
    A presentation brought to you by Immigration-Belgium.com
    2 The family reunification procedure available in Belgium allows foreign nationals already living in the country to be joined by their family members, UE and non-UE ones.
    3 The conditions for family reunification are based on the actual relationship between the party lawfully living in Belgium and the family member(s) who wish to join him or her.
    4 Before you choose to move to Belgium and bring your family with you, you should know that the conditions vary depending on the nationality of the person who joins someone in Belgium, as well as the nationality of the person who is already in the country.
    5 There are two main routes to apply for family reunification in Belgium:
    from the home country, via the Belgian Embassy: with a special application for a temporary residence permit;
    from Belgium, via the municipal authority according to the place of residence: a temporary residence permit is also issued in this case.
    6 Reporting to the municipality for family registration includes several steps for the family member who is reuniting with someone lawfully residing in Belgium.
    The first step is to present in person, within 3 months of arriving in the country, and submit the application for registration.
    7 The documents that are submitted for the certificate of registration with the Belgian municipality include the valid passport, lease contract, health insurance, photographs, and specific documents attesting the family's status.
    8 The holder of a temporary residence permit for family reunification receives a residence permit with the same validity period as that of the residence permit belonging to the family member who is already living in the country.
    9 After 5 years of residence, the family member can apply for a permanent stay card and he will be registered in the general population register, instead of the aliens' register.
    10 Our team can help you apply for a family reunification permit depending on your family status and nationality. We also assist those who wish to apply for reunification based on a legally registered partnership, equivalent to marriage in Belgium in some cases.
