Your video makes me remind to my elementary school years....(am 58 years old, when the Russian troops stayed in Hungary). It was very good, the atmosphere was so good, the teaching was very good and we could do any clever thing after the teaching hours for free, e.g. participation of chemical or other free study circles led by our teachers. We enjoyed them very much....nice old time :) Greetings, Valeria, from Hungary, Violet.

I know there are problems everywhere, but something that tugged at my heart was the sense of innocence in these kids. We've lost that here. Very little is respected and almost nothing is holy. It's so refreshing to see it in your country and so worrisome to think what our kids may have to go through to bring them back to that point of innocence.

I love the fact that the students are responsible for taking care of their environment. It's a wonderful idea that teaches responsibility and life skills. I also like it that kids don't start until they are six or seven. As a teacher, I found this very interesting. Thank you, Vicky! 💕

many parents start to educate children from 3 years of age (different preparatory classes) It is now a new trend among parents :) but it is not mandatory, Such lessons are always individual or in small groups

    • @daniellereid01
      @daniellereid01 7 лет назад +2

Different Russia Parents do the same thing over here, but what I find interesting is that Russia, along with several other European countries, acknowledges that children aren't really ready to learn until they reach the age of (in general) 7 years of age. North America, the U.K. and other countries do not and, as such, we send children to all day school at the age of 5, expect them to focus for six hours minimum, and then have to struggle with behavioural difficulties which, largely, I think could have been avoided by respecting the fact that the child simply isn't ready to learn yet! However, we aren't focused as much on the child here, but more on the need for parents to be earning money. Thus, there is a greater need for children to be out of the house at an earlier age. It isn't ideal at all. 💕

Danielle Reid, in Soviet time most kids went to school at 7. but almost all kids at age of 3-4 years were sent to kindergartens. I think things have not changed too much since then. I loved to be in kindergarten)

При случае надо рассказать нашим иностранным друзьям главное отличие русской школы от американской. Классы в России формируются по возрасту, а не по предметам как в Америке. То есть одна группа детей (класс) переходят из кабинета в кабинет и вместе изучают один предмет.

In Canada, we have different types of schools and school boards. I went through a public elementary school and also a public high school. The elementary school started at age 5 for a kindergarten then grades 1-8. Afterwards, we all went to high school for grades 9-12. Upon successful graduation of high school, we could go to university or college. Some places further separate these grades, and have "middle school" or "junior high school" which is simply late grades of elementary combined with early grades of high school. But, in all, it is finished at grade 12 regardless of which type you go to. I look forward to your next video as always. Thank you Valeria! Love from Canada!

In Canada we have schools that look like yours. We have 12 Grades and you may call them forms. Most children go for 12 years unless they are unhappy and dropout in grade 10 and that is not too common.
We have some combined schools where children can take a trade course like plumbing in their grades 10-12 for half a day and the other half day is for maths and science and english writing and chemistry..
We have private schools which are expensive and they require students to wear uniforms and rich people like them. There is no fighting and the students are better behaved are very focused on going to University later.
With the regular schools students later go to University or trade school college or community college to get more education and some of them get hired by companies immediately when they finish as they are looking for special students.

My daughter is in the 3rd grade of a French/English school but I chose to keep her in the English program. The English classes is k-7 and usually less than 2 class of that grade depending on Student enrolment. They will only hire extra teacher if they need it since the city place a limit on class size to 20. The children are assigned chores (janitors clean floors and bathrooms after school) during the class time to keep things running smoothly and each teacher have their own rules, like my daughter's grade 3 teacher doesn't allow kids to play with elastics and they need to ask to use bathroom, if they don't say please she does not let them. In Canada there is support for children who have needs and in kindergarten - grade 7 the child can get in school speech therapy, counselling or other Learning support in the school.

Here in Czechia, the students grade is 65% of the final exam. The instructions by the teacher are mostly written down in notes, not a lot of give and take. The tests are on the notes. The knowledge is not broad but deep. Is this how Russia teaches. Don't know which is better. The 65% of grade due to final exam is Heavy load on the students mind. Very nice school, just like the hospital also nice. Wonderful channel. Praha

I really enjoy all your videos. I have seen others from Russia but I prefer to watch yours. Like others have said children in the US start school between ages 5 & 18 years. Depending when their birthday is. Some kids start school before turning 5. If a child isn't ready and is behind the learning curve they go to preschool at age 4 instead of being held back longer as in Russia. I would think Russian schools would require a longer education to compete with the rest of the world. Here and a lot of countries they must graduate the 12th grade to enter college. I find it interesting that Russia doesn't seem interested in a higher education for their students.

thanks for the kind words, Janice. Very many of young people are oriented towards the institute. If there is no possibility to study at the full-time department, then they work during the day and study at the evening department, almost all 11 th grade students enter institutes

      Different Russia
It's so nice to hear from you. I have followed you a long time. It's very encouraging to hear that students in Russia prefer to continue their education even if it's not required. Lots of students in the US work part time while attending school also. As a parent of 3 daughters I think it's important that our children learn the value of money by earning their own. It teaches good values that they won't learn in any school.
I look forward to watching more of your videos. Have a great week!

It looks like the school and yard are very well maintained and they are proud of it.
I am curious to know if they sing the National Anthem in school and folk songs. If you have any videos of them and can explain them I would think that would be interesting for your viewers and myself.
Russia is known to have nice folk songs and a tradition of having them and poetry. When I went to school in the 1960's we used to sing O-Canada in the morning followed by the Lord's Prayer and then God Save the Queen at the end of the day.
The Lord's Prayer is gone because we are now very multi cultural and have Muslims and people from a lot of different religions in our cities and are a secular country (mostly). Nothing wrong with that as everyone has the right to believe in whatever they want.
Canada is not tied to England anymore and the Queen is no longer that popular or important here so we stopped singing about her.

The time is pressed in Russian school, we teach much more in less time, there is always an argument in society about "overloading" of children, for example in summer , during the vacations, those who are going to study in the 10 form have to read "War and Peace" by Tolstoy, " Crime and Punishment" , by Dostoyevsky , some novels by Turgenev ( they are also long) and what not- otherwise they will not be able to study successfully, its not possible to read everything while studying
