Would be great to see a video with a similar scenario geared towards Website Projects or Software Projects and clients. But, then use OmniFocus AND Things in the same video of how you would manage them both differently in the different applications. This would help users to choose which course they would want to sign up for. Just a suggestion. ;)
I have reached the limitations of my current task manager. I was on the fence with Things 3 but this video has inspired me to give OmniFocus a look. Thank you for taking a complex project in a complex app and simplifying both. Well done!
It isn't the prettiest one but dude... used with shortcuts, drafts and other tools such as weekly reviews or perspectives it is so powerful you can't go back, at least that was what happened to me. I miss it so much!
Peter Akkies thank you for the link! I think that was a fair comparison. I really like the fluidity of Things 3 and the keyboard shortcut support on the iPad is second to none. However, at the end of the day having the ability to see only what is available for me to work on is hard to walk away from. Most of my projects are sequential. This is the big draw to OmniFocus. My only concern is I will only be using this on the iPad. A few seconds extra to navigate the UI isn’t a big deal but you recommended that to successfully use OmniFocus I would need at least an iPad. Are there any limitations to using OmniFocus iPad only? Making this transition is going to be a huge process that I intend to only do once, so I am trying to cover all my bases before I jump in head first.
Take a look to something like Editorial or Shortcuts to automate the creation of templates on iOS, also with the latest update you can automate this in all the platforms which saves a lot of time and remove frictions atm of using them.
Thanks for the video, perfectly summarized with enough detail. Do you recommend including project-specific words into the action titles? (e.g. "Schedule meeting with customer Mr Akkies") This adds more detail to an action, but makes the creation of the project more time-intensive.
Hi Peter, thank you for the video! I just downloaded the latest version of OmniFocus 3, but it doesn’t has “Available” tag on the left hand side no more, how do i keep track with different project sequences?
Great video on project set-up!
I would recommend using the term “team” instead of “guys”. There are a few construction crews with women 😉

I love that idea of a comparison case study
Very informative and it was nice to see an OmniFocus video again.

Thanks Jay! OmniFocus and Things are both great. Check out my comparison of them here: peterakkies.net/omnifocus-vs-things

Thank you for this material. I sell windows and you gave me actually the finished one for my company :)

Hey DH. I find project templates super easy to use in OmniFocus on the Mac. So for me, automation is a solution with a problem here.
fantastic video. i was looking for that for my headstone company. Superb :)

I wouldn't worry about that unless you find yourself getting lost because you've got too many tasks with the same name.

Hey Johnnie. The Available perspective is a custom perspective. In my OmniFocus course I teach how to set it up.
