Butterfly knives are a Chinese edged weapon, with evident Western influences, usually studied in pairs and present in the curriculum of many styles of kungfu.
In this video, Maestro Jaime Luis Vizconde shows us some basic techniques to train with butterfly knives, we can see the lunge technique and some of the most common ways to block, intercept and counterattack using these knives.

Tafangtao is not a real style, it is a study method which, starting from the solid foundations of the harder styles deriving from shaolin kungfu (wu xing quan, hung gar, etc.), evolves towards the "internal" disciplines then for Wing Chun and finally reaching the practice of TaiChi Chuan (taijiquan). We can therefore establish at least three study sections: Tafang WuXing - Tafang Wing Chun - Tafang Taichi
