Let me get this straight; when the US president says, "We need Greenland for national security reasons," that is good. When Russian president says, "We need Ukraine for national security reasons," that is bad. When US says we are going to annex Canada; that is good. When Russian says we annexed Crimea, that is bad.
This isn’t about more of a military presence and more bases…this is about the natural resources which Greenland and Denmark don’t have the tech or money to go after. Acquiring Greenland would be an absolute brilliant move that would be a huge win financially for the US!
Trump's overt statement did indeed put a damper on the possibilities for immediate change where Greenland is concerned. He has the right intentions, but "Bull in the porcelain shop" approach isn't always productive!
I'm Australian. We have fought alongside the USA since 1918, in almost every conflict. We have just signed a pretty open-ended contract for nuclear submarines, with a clause allowing the US to supply us with nothing if it so chooses, and we still pay. Your new president has cast aside all precedents about rule of law, alliances, he is obviously very heavily influenced by the last fellow he spoke to. He has no education or curiosity to know how the world has been held together since 1945. If your presiedent decides to make the US a pariah state, we will be dragged in. Sadly, we have had a little test run with Israel. I think we are on the cusp of the eclipse of the nation-state, the billionaires will form the ultimate alliance, replacing the 'deep state' with tech/gamer bros who do whatever the hell they want.
Check out his time interview from i believe 2016, he essentially states that he will do no research for any topic including ones he knows nothing about. That is knowing ignorance and incompetence.

I may not have paid enough attention and should have recognized this sooner (and apologize if that is true) but I feel like you have truly upped your game and content, and that your commentary, opinion and analysis is particularly valuable. (How's that for a run on sentence?) BTW, have purchased all three books and looking forward to Book IV
Thanks very much.
Learned more in 10 minutes here than any other source. Thanks again.
Absolutely agree with you! Facts only on your page that’s why I like to listen to you!!!
This is about rare earth resources in Greenland.
Private sector exploitation of those resources. Just another moneymaking dodge.
Yep.
Tale as old as time…..
Maybe, but it's more about starting as many nonsense debates as possible while Project 2025 or something equally evil is quietly slipped in the back door.
If US owns Greenland, the president and his appointees can make the rules and grant the contracts for mining and drilling. Wonder wny so many billionaires have been flocking to make big donations to Trump's inauguration?
It's also a diversion from not being able to achieve anything he promised during the campaign...
Maui, LA, North Carolina, etc, etc, etc. We should put effort and resources into Greenland.
I make a motion that your call sign is no longer Mooch, but rather Stink Bug.
Second?
Let’s see how this works out as those who have tried in the past have failed. I don’t know if it’s going to work but I know who is a better negotiator.
BZ, shipmate. Loving the intel, Mooch. No slowing down, 2025.⚓️🦅🇺🇸
You come across like one of the aliens in INDEPENDENCE DAY. Oh, & 🇨🇦shd think...
I used to think that this fellow Carolll was a serious man, but the fact that he’s talking about these stupidities shows that he’s another one of the zombies. You should be pointing out the embarrassment that the clown that we will have as president is going to destroy our country.
he does a good job of not taking sides politically, this is a good thing. We have a million other youtube channels for political division.
Danmark doing deal with china or russia is beyond stupid to say
Ward, you’re going to be a very busy man if you cover every idiotic thought this man has for the next four years.
They should just make a trade and let Denmark keep the area where Camp Century is buried.
There’s a lot of good information that I was not aware of about Greenland. 🖖🏼
Thanks for the wonderful 101 on Greenland. Ward Carroll continues to be an example of excellent citizenship journalism. Too bad we can't get the legacy media to give us deep dives like this.
🙎🏽♂️ Could we not start 2025 annoying our Allies?
America not annoying our allies, not possible!
@edwxx20001 we could try for a change.
Thank you! I really appreciate this excellent analysis.
Let me get this straight; when the US president says, "We need Greenland for national security reasons," that is good. When Russian president says, "We need Ukraine for national security reasons," that is bad. When US says we are going to annex Canada; that is good. When Russian says we annexed Crimea, that is bad.
All the difference in the world between talking and shooting.
that's correct. that's what happens when you're the global hegemony and are protecting the entire west and allies in the indo pacific.
What’s hard to understand?
That’s an impressive failure in critical thinking and context.
@@KenLeonardwhile there is a difference between talking and shooting, it's still claiming the land of an independent nation.
This isn’t about more of a military presence and more bases…this is about the natural resources which Greenland and Denmark don’t have the tech or money to go after. Acquiring Greenland would be an absolute brilliant move that would be a huge win financially for the US!
Audio dropped out at 4:32 🤔
Fixed.
Interesting and thoughtful analysis- thank you
Great job on the intel. TY, ADJ3 1976-82 Go Navy!
…Beat Army!
Lets be honest.. "Honest Don", the slimy miner and wrecking realtor, has dollar signs in his eyes when he thinks of Greenland.
If the USA can take Greenland, then China can take Taiwan then?
We do kind of lose the moral high ground on the whole land grabbing thing.
China won’t be floating an offer other an a navy armada
A rejoinder in the form of an understatement: things like ethical consistency or strategic integrity seem to be lost on the incoming President.
No, difference is Greenland would FREELY vote to become apart of the US. And Taiwans citizens have absolutely 0% interest into becoming apart China.
Are we invading?
Wooooooow I was not expecting that twist analysis at the end 😳🙏
Most comprehensive backstory I've heard yet, and best analysis, excellent.
Great history lesson, Sir. Much appreciated. Thank you.
I guess it would be no different than Puerto Rico? Basically a US territory? Would it need to be a state?
I have a hard time seeing Greenland going to the Russians or Chinese. I think we’d see the gloves come off in NATO before that happened.
Comment to support the video, Thanks.
I'm aware of much of this history. You teach me more though. Thanks for the excellent Intel!
Jeezus, PLEASE stop normalizing Trump's stupidity.
Canada now has a land border with Greenland. Hans Island. Site of the Whiskey war. Peaceful unguarded border now.
I want a normal president.
You're getting an orange one. What colour would "normal" be? 😊
Hopefully the Dems come up with a good option in 4 years.

Well reasoned, thank you for your insights.
Thank you Ward for calling the people Inuit and not Eskimo.
Like you just did,,lol..
At what size does and island become a continent?
Always outstanding intel. Thank you.
I concur. The visuals added tremendously to his brief..
Trump's overt statement did indeed put a damper on the possibilities for immediate change where Greenland is concerned. He has the right intentions, but "Bull in the porcelain shop" approach isn't always productive!
Sir, I really like how your brain works. Thanks for all your good work.
I thought you were going to be complain about losing your status as the world's largest island.
I mean that's really already happening. The Nation-State power is old news that only appears to still be going strong because it's wholly supported by corporate owner/operators. The real people in power are letting the Political systems eat themselves while they consolidate the rest of their power.
@@user-wg7nw3mh2e I've always wondered how we can be a continent and an island... we ought to choose a side.
@@user-wg7nw3mh2e nah, we are just happy to be worlds smallest continent. 😂😂
Good summary and opinion, thx
Hmmm, now where have I heard the name Thule before?
Whatever they were actually looking for with Project Iceworm, they probably found it that's why it was quietly abandoned.
On your bike rack?
The existing treaty basically allows the US to build whatever bases and facilities they want anywhere on the island. Not sure what additional benefit would accrue from direct ownership.
President Clown is his own worst enemy
He's OUR worst enemy (I'm American)
Sorry your girl lost. Not sorry
Pillow bitters...
Don’t you mean president Elon😂
The Greenlanders would get US citizenship. That sweetens the deal for them.
They don't want that. They want sovereignty and prosperity.
How exactly?
I mean their healthcare level sucks already, especially since they got some independence from Denmark, so it wouldn’t be much of a change indeed.
But their scholar system is actually pretty good. So that’s not a good thing for them to become Americans here.
Hey all you illegals go to Greenland so when the U S takes it over you will become citizens, Maybe this rumor will spread like wild fire.
