Thank you for this walkthrough video. It is the only one I could find giving a closer look than the the Harvey promotional video. All other ones on RUclips are for the T-40, and I am much more interested in this one with its extra capacity and features.
Thanks for showing the new lathe here. There is much to like about it. I wish they would have included speed control on the remote switch so you didn’t have to cross through the danger zone to adjust the speed. Also I am wondering if the index pin/spindle lock will be durable enough? Those functions often involve separate mechanisms in lathes of this size with heavier parts used for the spindle lock. Is the banjo opening for the tool post not a standard 1 inch diameter? If not that certainly is a disadvantage. Does the grub screw for the banjo directly chew into the tool rest post? That servo motor is something I don’t have any experience with. I wonder how it will handle a large bowl coring jig? And is there any significant difference in efficiency with electricity use compared a 3 phase motor run on a frequency drive?
Everyone who is using the T60 likes the lathe. One issue is the banjo post is much lower and larger than the other lathes we have so we had to have a special riser made to raise the working level and reduce the diameter to use our old banjo posts.
The OTOW Woodshop is happy you enjoy the independent review of your T60 Lathe and the Board of Directors has approved Harvey Industries use. We would also welcome the opportunity to provide independent reviews of any future products as we have a diverse member group from beginners to woodworking professionals. We also plan to acquire a system like your T40 in the near future which could be a future opportunity. You may contact us at benmail51@gmail.com.
Unfortunately the long shafted tool rest is a deal breaker for me as I use a variety of rests that would have to be replaced and looking online I did not see any with the extended support shaft.
The OTOW Woodshop is lucky enough to have a professional tool and dye maker as a member and he made an adapter for our lathe. We can now use our older tool rests. Harvey needs to offer one either in its package or as a purchase option.

You are entirely welcome. Our turners love the lathe.
I'm glad I came across your video. I've been curious about this particular lathe.
Thanks

Hi Ben. Thank you for this. Do you still like the T60?..... Have they not been around long?........ I too cannot find independent reviews on the net.

Hey OTOW folks! Could we re-share this great video on our channels? Thanks again for the review!
I will ask the club board at our meeting on Monday. Will let you know Monday evening. Glad you like the video.
