- In this video James Stewart explains his foot technique at slow- mid and up-tempos. At high tempos James switches to the swivel technique and his main focus here is to play perfectly tight double bass (even at tempos above 240 bpm).
In this drum tutorial you'll also learn about the motion approach and the acoustic approach. Both can help you to stay on the click when playing double kick.
These exercises will help you improve your double bass drumming (and it doesn't matter if you are using a chain driven pedal, a belt drive or a direct drive pedal like axis, trick or czarcie kopyto).

the beater is almost 90 degrees..and he is wearing shoes with laces....worst case scenario the beater might be caught up with the laces during live...did he ever experience that?

That's great and all, but it would be nice to see a drummer who doesn't just blast beat their way through songs. Speed is great and all, but without appropriate fills and with constant symbol crashing, good technique means nothing.
