I'd never be able to make to lv 28 on high speed let alone try to beat lv 20, it takes a good amount of skill to play on high speed in the later levels. Still this player here is really good at it. Good to see someone explained why it crashed on lv28 too, i never would have thought that it was because of a glitch. I'm now starting to figure out why this happened. Part of it has to do with the fact that 5 of the viruses were immideatly put on the bottom right of the bottle instead of the top so when it starts placing the others it has nowhere to go with the last 11 or so viruses so it gets stuck trying to put them in
You know that feeling when you're on a rollercoaster for the first time in your life and you're getting knocked around in your seat? At first you're like "whoa what's happening??! I should try to adjust to the movements" but then you're just letting it happen. It kind of washes over your head and you're in some kind of zone. That's the feeling I get when watching this video.
I just beat it for the 4th time on the Easy level. That's playing it four or five times a week for years. My high score at the kill screen was 158,000. About a third of the time, the viruses load up to where you can't break through on Level 25. I've noticed that the virus layout is a little easier on the harder versions to make up for the increased speed, still doesn't make it any easier. I also play it for relaxation so med or hard isn't relaxing.
Even though the number of viruses stays the same at 84, it's funny how the difficulty varies so much between the levels. 20 and 21 are hard, 22, 23, and 24 are really hard since the viruses start higher in the bottle, 25 and 26 are ridiculous with the viruses weighted near the top (and sometimes literally impossible if you get a bad virus layout), then 27 is much easier than even 20 and 21.
I have a save state on level 30 on my 3DS (Dr. Mario GB eShop) Never got a softlock but on lvl.30 pieces start to move reeeally slow with short sudden bursts of turbo speed. After finishing lvl.30 it doesn't go up to lvl.31 it just resets lvl.30 Not sure what version of Dr.Mario is on 3DS eShop in Europe. Probably PAL
I always wondered why the viruses were in the ocean in the Gameboy version's "milestone congrats" screens. Also, that's a coelacanth in the ending scene.
Insane that you can see the patterns that quickly. Especially to create combos that do the Starman jingle, unless that's just coincidence ;). I think it's also more impressive on this version considering that it's one row higher on 20.
*Easily* the hardest Dr. Mario I've played, and this is exactly why! Coming from someone who has beaten multiple Dr. Mario games on the highest settings, I can't even _remotely_ do what this chad is doing!
@@nineko I can tell you by experience, the last 2 stages are some of the Hardest AI I’ve ever played against, I’ve never completed Super Hard without losing, but I know I can do it since I’ve defeated both of them multiple times
The guy has command of this game I cannot even comprehend. His superiority has destroyed any will to attempt competition; douchy twats would say he's killing it. Well, maybe gameplay was manipulated, who could tell for sure? At least this is astounding proof of how much more complex Dr. Mario is than Tetris.
n nikitosnekit They're both pretty complex, but I think it's unfair to say 1 is harder (Yes, I've seen Tgm) but they both require different skills and play styles
I've gotten to the killscreen three times. You have to get lucky enough to have all the pills you need right at the beginning of levels 25 and 26. Sometimes, it loads up to were its solid viruses all the way across three spaces down from the top and none of the viruses underneath match.
i found one of these in the parking lot of my park there was a bunch of people playing pokemon go in the park im probably gonna go there again and try and sell it lol
Who thinks there should be a world championship for this game?! Comment 'Agreed!' if you do! Srsly tho, what's up with people asking for likes on their comments if someone agrees? That's click-baity. -_-
This is played with an emulator, and using a keyboard instead of a joypad is much easier, in my opinion. I wouldn't be able to play like this on an actual Game Boy.
I wonder is there any difference between these levels or is it just pure random generator luck? Aside from level 28, level 27 looked quite strange and ridiculously easy as well, but how about levels 20 to 26?
OnePieceObsessed The game uses a table to determine what position to start filling from (well, sort of - it uses the RNG as well with a probability that goes up as the game progresses) and, as you reach certain points, it also uses a "stride" that's normally 34 positions to split the filling process. Now, up through level 26, these values are well-defined - 25 and 26 start at cell #110 (cell #0 is the bottom-left corner and it increases right to left, then top to bottom) and maintain the 34 stride... but they're at the very end of the table, unfortunately. The good news is that the entry for level 27 is *mostly* sane - start at cell #88, stride of 68 - but level 28 has absolute nonsense of "start at cell #72" which makes the game spin forever trying to place the last 11 viruses.
I'm sorry, but it might be a problem on your end, because it works fine for me (and for the other 90000 people who watched this video before, I guess, since nobody else mentioned the issue you're experiencing). Try a different computer or a different browser, or a different resolution, I don't know.
At level 28 the patient dies.
