The Frog is my favorite because It was my first kit back in the 80's when I was in the Navy. So much good times. Almost all of us on my ship(16 crew), had an RC vehicle. Learned a lot back then.

Although I prefer the original, I absolutely love the fact that someone has taken on the task of creating and offering optional bodies to such iconic buggies! I could be wrong, but it seems like there aren't anywhere near as many options we once had decades ago. Brands like Parma, McAllister, Dahm's, etc. made it possible for people to have the same vehicle with not just different paint schemes, but entirely different bodies. It really helped to break up the monotony of everyone using an OEM shell. Great work, Owen; I'm sure many hobbyists are just as grateful as I am for your efforts! As always, thanks for sharing this with us, Glenn!
Damn, that Revive RC Frog bodyshell looks fantastic, especially in white, gold and black!! Personally I think it looks better than the original Tamiya Frog bodyshell, heresy I know, but just my opinion ;)

I bought a wing from revive recently as the original Tamiya racing wings are impossible to find these days. Great quality product and great value, Keep it up!

It's really nice! And that paint job is great! It's funny, the Frog is really tall, somehow, and that body makes it look less awkward, more cool! I don't own a Frog but if I did, I try this out for sure!

Hi Glenn, well that Reproduction Frog body actually looks great. The subtle difference between the original Tamiya version and the reproduction, really are subtle, yet distinctive and really suit the vintage legend. Great colour choice and a classic decal choice compliments the shell. Great job. 😉👌
It’s always tough tinkering with iconic designs but this is very subtle and I think works very well. I particularly like the wing/rear end looks great.

Is it me or the front end is different: it's fuller and slightly longer looking. Great paint scheme. The green prototype is beautiful. Overall top job!

I always thought the body on the Frog was a bit short behind the front wheels and would have benefitted from extending down to be parallel to the frame, so I just brought a Brat body to hide the gap.
Im huge fan of the Frog as my brother had one when i was a kid so i do prefer the look of the original. The new body and colours are nice but just not my cup of tea. Great video though and hugely entertaining as always. Also, love the driver name sticker!!!!😃👍👍
When I was a kid I enjoyed building and running the Frog but, it had an issues with the gears near the axles wearing out and slipping after installing a stronger Trinity motor. I replaced them a few times but, something seemed wrong in the design that wouldn't keep them together tightly and allow them to wear down quickly.
It’s great to have options, although personally I prefer the original body (I like the humps on each side of the big NGK decal). I wish those paint lines would have been done a little sharper for you (looking at the left side above the F in “Frog”). For smaller areas where polycarbonate paint remover will mess up the paint job, I usually scrape the paint off with a hobby knife where the paint wicks under the tape. Any scratches in the polycarbonate body won’t be noticeable after it’s painted over. Aside from that, it looks great!
I happen to think that the Frog is the one of the most gawky designs Tamiya produced (HERETIC!) but the paint job on this really works wonders. A variation on the JPS colours, perhaps?
Glad you know me I prefer the box art and the original body that chassis awfully old I saw a lot of rust on it and colors diminished. I do like the colors on it I have to admit but unless Tommy and makes a body like that I still rather have the original.
Looks more aggressive for sure l like it! I would actually like to see it in pink and white with the spot lights! Would be interesting to see that! But yeah love the looks Glenn its aggressive and more modern but not in a bad way! But l will stick to the original on my frog....damn purist!!!!lol😉 Great vid buddy.

Like you I like colour I’ve never liked metallic brown 🤯🤣 it’s not the body set or just the colour choice it’s the choice of lines is a bit lazy and ruins the flow. Still your positivity was bringing me round by the end as you say the more you stare at it the less you dislike it lol

Hmmmm…..its a real Marmite body that is for me?!. The Frog is the car that hooked me in as a small boy and still my favourite car, for me the work on the body and paint is fantastic but Im not a fan of its fuller nose and scoop etc….sorry but for me the original is nicer😍

The frog chassis is ugly as sin. Makes the grasshopper chsassis look like a thing of beauty in comparison.
