They are a crossover group. So they cover many genre’s and languages. We have heard, classical, opera, pop, rock, jazz, ballads, Disney,rock opera, latin songs including Argentinian tango’s . They are versatile.! They are not dancers but they have started attempting simple dances as well. They focus on giving quality vocals with amazing harmonies like no other group . Simply the best!

The guy with high note and filler is Hyung-ho Kang, who opened the song in the beginning.
He has wide range of voice from bariton to soprano and basically rocky voice.
In one song of the Phantom of the opera, he has ever showed all the voices.
When you hear soprano chorus in other songs, it's him.

Forestella is a crossover group and as such, have many different types of songs, not only classical. You may want to check out "Shape of you", "Despacito", "Kool", and "Mama", for a different vibe. Thanks for reacting to Forestella, they need to be known everywhere!

They showed their Smooth Criminal performance in Immortal Songs 10th anniversary special episode for the first time. Also they performed it in live during their concert tour for their 3rd album; The Forestella.
It was a big surprise even for their fans they danced quite well like this because Forestella is a crossover vocal group consisted of 2 classical vocals, 1 ex-chemist rocker and 1 musical actor who majors in acting. I mean none of them was a dancer at all..OK, at least the musical actor (Bae DooHoon) danced best of them and even the classical bass (Ko WooRim) dreamed to be a dancer-singer when he was a middleschooler, they were not used to dance as they are basically classical crossover quartet. They tried some "movement" barely couldn't call it dance in Gondre Mandre (Dead Drunk) performance before. So I thought they would do like that again. But BAAAM! Even I'm a fan of them I wasn't expecting such a dance move.
They said they tried so hard practicing their moves 6 hours a day to do justice to this song. Because MJ's Smooth Criminal needs dance to be completed. No one in this world would reach the dance of MJ, but I felt Forestella approached close to the song.
I saw their Smooth Criminal in live from their concert tour opened. And I kept following their concert tour afterward as well, I was surprised every time they got improved a lot not only the dance but also the singing. The only one bad thing was prohibition of screaming fof covid situation. Last year they revived it as the covid situation got less gross and the audience could shout as wished so badly. Even it was a cold rainy evening at the moment, Forestella was a FIRE🔥indeed.
Forestella is one of a kind. I love them so much!

Forestella has another MJ renditions of Thriller (it was one of their triple titles in their 3rd album) and Heal the World (I like the first performed version in Immortal Songs).
Usually HyungHo hit the high notes like MJ here but MinGyu also did some whoo and haas while HyungHo sang. Recently last month they sang this again in the Forestella Festival and HyungHo brought a comical hanger dance intro on the last day lol.

That singer who you are looking for is Kang Hyung ho who is right side on screen from our sight. Kang is the high note ❤😂

They have a lot of "Pop-Song" covers!! a few of my favorites: Despacito, Shape of you, Bad Romance, Warriors, Legends never die, Holding out for a Hero, etc. they have such a versatile Songselection ;) Hope you enjoy finding new sides to Forestella!

I recommend the ghost of Kang Hyung-ho's opera, a high-pitched calm of Forrestella.
Since Forestella is not a K-pop idol band, they don't get dance trainings and stuff. They did this little dance for fan service. They are a vocal group, after all. :) Hyungho and Mingyu do the high oohs interchangeably. Mingyu can go as high as Hyungho can, by the way, or even higher, but he sticks to his mid-range in Forestella most of the times. If you check out Inner Universe, there Mingyu sings higher backing vocals to Hyungho. Also, if you can check out the Radioactive they performed while in Phantom Singer, when Hyungho was not yet a part of the team, Mingyu sang soprano there :) sadly, the fancam concert versions of Radioactive are completely different and Mingyu stopped singing soprano parts after Hyungho became the countertenor. He does these occassional help-outs like in this video.

De fato eles nao sao treinados para a dança, eles sempte teeinam e estudam suas tecnicas de canto apenas... mais eles ensaiaram mais de 6 h por dia para conseguir dancar nesta musica um pouco afinal se tratava de MJ e nao poderia ficar sem dança a música. Valeu o esforço e eles fizeram o melhor que podiam.😅
