I don't think this baby momma and her child will be speaking. His list went from 20 to 9, and now 3. We'll see who shows up- by Zoom or in person. I know one thing. If a mother allows his child to speak, that child should be taken from her! Proven fact- young children *cannot* process adult situation and shoud never be put in a position to even try to understand. If that child says that her daddy is a good man, then DB needs to understand that there will be tough consequences for the mom and child. It's called "street justice!" unfortunately.

Hearing him speak out for his 8 year old and elderly grandmother after he murdered an 8 year old and multiple grandmothers is insane. The internet is forever and this is his legacy. Even when his children get older and try to seek out the details of this monstrous act, they will not only find out the truth of what he done, but they will see him rolling his eyes at victims, disrespecting everyone around him, no remorse, no accountability. This is the legacy he is leaving. I hope they put him in general pop. And those other inmates take him to the brink of death daily, but don't let him die. Let him open his eyes every single day knowing its about to happen again, with no end in sight.

I wish so bad one of those victims would have reminded him what he has ahead of him: solitary confinement, loneliness, harassment and violence from inmates and guards, being told what to do day in and day out, never being with a woman again, never getting a home cooked meal... So many things. I wish they would have told him that, because he doesn't care about their pain, he cares about himself. That would have went right through him. These people are innocent in a way though. They are much more innocent than me. My mind automatically goes to the worst that can happen to him.

She's done nothing but make excuses for him. And his mom is partially to blame. Darrell tried to kill his ex by running her over at a gas station on November 2nd, a few weeks before the parade. He was in jail for it, and his mom had the power to leave him there, but she bailed him out for the umpteenth time. Then she loaned him her car, even though she knew he didn't have a license and he had already used her vehicle as a deadly weapon.
She's been covering for him his entire life, she still claims he never intended to kill and injure all these people. I don't feel sorry for her one bit, she should be in jail for the part she played in this nightmare.

honestly i don’t even believe in prison. i don’t think people this disturbed “deserve” punishment, they’re disturbed. he needs help that we don’t know how to give. it’s a tragedy. maybe one day we’ll understand people well enough to help them.
execution is a practical solution. we don’t have space, we don’t have the money. whatever. but it’s not a moral solution- we don’t kill people, that’s murder, and murder is wrong.
lifetime imprisonment is another practical solution. we can’t let these people go free in our society and wreak havoc. but it isn’t a moral solution. putting a bunch of violent people in the same building and taking it upon ourselves to say they may never take a free step again. i truly believe that’s barbaric, it’s not a moral solution. but it’s practical.
i see both of these as the unfortunate result of a human race which is either too young to help itself, or too inept to EVER help itself. prison and execution are obviously wrong, the question is: will we EVER come up with something better? something truly effective and moral?
saying somebody “should be executed” is just feeding the vitriol. execution is done not as a point of justice but as a point of practicality and economics. a court of justice has never truly existed and will not exist for a long time if ever.

@@tonoornottono Really oh great genius and great moral arbiter. Unlike your self-appointed expert self, I was rendered profoundly disabled as an infant child by a criminal of similar type to Brooks. I have lived for 52 years a life that was profoundly impacted for every second of every day that has passed since. I was deprived of educative, vocational, relationship and other opportunities that many other people most rightly take for granted as indeed they should. It took 51 years to bring the individual who ruined my life to justice whereupon they were convicted upon every charge that they faced. At that time last July, I was asked what I felt an appropriate and proportionate sentence would be and after over five decades of the very deepest of reflection informed by the most personal of experience I stated then as I do here again today that the only appropriate and proportionate sentence to the impacts the crimes imparted was indeed the death sentence.
Your apparent belief that you know better or have remotely informed opinions on this issue that are more rationally valid or should supplant those which are held by those of us who have been the victims of such crimes as those of Brooks, are testament alone to your own wickedly arrogant sense of self-entitlement being of the same order and insulting arrogance as him. You know nothing, you are utterly vacuous in your knowledge on such a deeply personal and sensitive issue as crime and punishment for those of us who through no fault of our own are condemned to serve the life sentences that are the reverse side of the 'punishments' such people as he serve, and which we serve from the moment these are perpetrated until long after prison sentences end. People like you have a remarkably blinkered view of criminal justice, limited only to the rights of a perpetrator and always deeply ignorant of the needs let alone suffering of victims because any investment in such a topic doesn't offer the same type of vicarious pleasure that reading of such crimes and the mentalities who perpetrate these offers you in gratification of your pathological voyeuristic need to rubberneck.

I've been watching for about an hour now, the victims come forth and share their horrific stories of that day, and how their lives have been forever changed. This made it real and showed me the real reasons for this trial. I am so sorry for every victim that lost their life. I feel so sorry for the families that lost their loved ones. I feel so sorry for the victims that survived this tragedy and have to live with this forever. I'm sorry that I looked at this trial any other way, then for the victim's getting justice.

She's already admitted she knows how he is. He belonged in jail. He did not need to be bonded out, nor did he need to use her car when he got out. If I knew my kid was like that, I would never bond him out nor would I let his crazy ass use my car.
