Their storyline is honestly kind of difficult to explain, especially since we don't have the full story yet. Their lyrics heavily incorporate their story, but you won't be able to get the full meanings because they have their own vocabulary, words that most likely won't make sense to you (KWANGYA, NAEVIS, FLAT, SYNK, etc.). I strongly suggest you watch "Black Mamba" Ep.1 Sm Culture Universe. It's around 10 minutes long, you'll get to see the girls' acting, and you'll get a much deeper grasp of the story.
This was such a fun watch. aespa have really carved out their own lane and the fact that they did it in such a short period of time makes it all the more impressive. As far as 4th gen goes they're number one. Nobody is even close to their level imo, but a lot of 4th gen groups are powerful. Can I also say aespa is the most popular group in Kpop right now, but their also the most hated group in Kpop. This song is 100% towards all of the haters.
Obviously AESPA is worth to stan. They're top tier and have all the elements. But sadly, they're always being criticised for their heavy use of live AR when performing on stage. Many kpop idol fans doubt their singing capability when dancing or performing on stage because of that.
I'd say they're quite more like the Twice to BlackPink where aespa is currently more popular in South Korea like Twice was but ITZY is more popular internationally like BP.
