When Thomas? Said "that some SAVAGE after effects"....Aespa actually just came back with a song titled "SAVAGE" and yall should check that out...literal savage.... Thank you✨
Aespa exploded as rookies in 2021. They won rookies of the year in multiple award shows. They collected a lot of hardware and their stock keeps rising. So basically , jump on the train now because they are projected to be leaders of 4th gen. Black Mamba was a killer debut but this song is the one that really put them on the map. After you check out the MV to Savage … you need to listen to the Savage EP. It is the best album of 2021… and many people will agree to that.
Not complaining about the other said not the best but one of the best, Try listening it too guys that album blow my mind not in terms of sales but the music like 11/10 masterpiece.
sorry but savage is a shit song except pre chorus everything is just meh and the highnotes are totally not listenable. sorry ik they worked hard for it but it is what it is
This song is the song that blew them up, especially in SK. I mean, they were big when they debuted given that they were under SM Entertainment, but truthfully speaking Black Mamba had not done as good on Korean charts as expected. But when Next Level was released, it blew everything out of the park. Nobody expected it to become as big it did. It made aespa THE rookies of 2021. And despite many people hating the structure of the song (sounding like 3 songs in one), it was a total earworm and the choreography went viral. Some people (aka me) might go as far as saying that it was THE girl group song of 2021, simply because it had almost every Korean celebrity in a choke hold. It left people wondering how aespa would follow up a huge hit like Next Level, and the answer is by making another huge hit. Which brings us to Savage, the song you need to check out next. At the time of its release, the Savage EP was the highest selling debut EP by a girl group beating groups such as Iz*one and Blackpink. (You guys might not know Iz*one, but they were a hugely successful group in South Korea and I recommend you check 'em out too lol). (And also check out the SM Culture Universe Black Mamba episode 1, if you want to get deeper into their lore. From what I've heard, the founder of SM, Lee Soo Man, has been working on this story since the creation of SM Entertainment way back in the 80s, but idk that just might be a rumor lol) As someone else already said, aespa are projected to be the leaders of the 4th generation, their fame is growing at a meteoric rate. As someone who's been with them since pre-debut, it's nice to see them grow so big.
Aespa music is like a rollercoaster, a lot of beat changes, it can be confusing the first time you listen to them but after 2/3 listen you’re literally become addicted
The thing that strikes me the most about these girls is the influence they've already had on the industry. I'm not even a stan and I'm lowkey obsessed, and you've got veterans like Seventeen and Monsta X referencing their music in the middle of their own performances and in interviews. It's _crazy._ They know how to get it and they're unstoppable. Definition of girl power.
Love your enthusiasm for Aespa, the girls deserve it! Winter and NingNing's vocals are out of this world, Karina and Giselle's rapping is just too good, and each girl will literall consume your soul and you'll be happy about it lol! Next stop: Savage!
It does sounds like it have 3 to 4 songs in it at first listen but after a few listens it kinda grew on me and so do a lot of other people. But there're some people who still doesn't enjoy this after a few listens because of the beat switch. Btw this is also their most viral songs last year.
Yeah I definitely wasn't a fan when it first released but the chorus was stuck in my brain and I kept singing it randomly and I had to relisten a bunch to like it.
Well... Imma be honest, i didn't really pay attention to Next Level at first. But... While I was listening to their Black Mamba on YT, next level suddenly played and... Yeah I didn't notice it at first... Lol. (Ok! Coz I was doing something else!!! So I didn't notice it at first!) But later that day, While i was washing the dishes "I'm on the Next Level" suddenly popped out of my brain from the Narnia... Then got addicted to it😂 But Savage and Black Mamba are the songs I really liked from the first listen.
if you guys love aespa youll love their older brothers NCT 😃 they’re also always out of the box and different. Experimental is the word for both groups
As with all the groups under SM Entertainment, their storylines and concepts are all part of SM's Universe, including aespa's storyline. It is even speculated that aespa's story connects to EXO's and SuperM's storylines. I think SM has set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together there are threads of connections between the groups. aespa's "Next Level" MV is designed to help explain a little more about what we saw happening in "Black Mamba." To help you start to understand aespa better as a group and to explain a little more about what is happening in their MVs, if you haven't already, you should watch aespa's "aespa 'ep1. Black Mamba' - SM Culture Universe" video that was released about 7 months ago right before their MV for "Next Level" was released. It's the first episode of aespa's drama and it explains in more detail about aespa's storyline. Please see the rest of my comment attached in the reply.
Part 2 of 3: As with everything that SM does, aespa is much more than just a singing group. They have a whole story that is more like a movie or an epic novel and all their MVs and everything they do is connected. As you have seen, aespa is a four member girl group whose concept revolves around the fact that their name means "avatar experience" and each of the girls has an avatar character -- as you see with their animated characters and scenes -- so they also are superhero-like beings, just like EXO and the members of SuperM. Their avatars aren't exactly "virtual members," but they are virtual characters that represent each of the members in the digital realm. As part of aespa's concept, it is thought that anyone who does anything online has a virtual character that lives online that represents them -- everytime we do anything online we leave a piece of digital DNA which is what is used to create our digital selves or avatar. If you watch the video I suggested above, this will all become more clear and aespa's concept should make more sense. And just like EXO, the members of aespa all have their own powers and symbols that represent them: 💓Karina (Yoo JiMin) is the leader of the group, she is a main dancer and lead rapper: her symbol is a heart and her spirit animal is a whale. She is Korean. 🌕Giselle (Uchinaga Aeri) is the main rapper and a vocalist: her symbol is the moon and her spirit animal is a unicorn. She is Japanese. ⭐Winter (Kim MinJeong) is a lead dancer, lead vocalist and the visual of the group: her symbol is a star and her spirit animal is a Siberian Husky dog. She is Korean 🦋NingNing (Níng Yìzhuo) is the maknae and the main vocalist: her symbol is a butterfly and her spirit animal is a tiger. She is Chinese. As you are discovering, in order to understand aespa's storyline, you really have to pay attention to the lyrics of their songs, because the lyrics help to explain aespa's concept and what is happening in their MVs. The way I see it is, there are two dimensions: aespa in the real world and their avatars (Kwangya) world. Aespa are connected to their avatars and everything the aespa members do in real life gives power to their avatars. However, because of the Black Mamba's temptation, aespa and their avatars cannot connect through the SYNK app anymore, so their avatars become lost. Therefore, I think in "Next Level" aespa is on a mission to try and stop the Black Mamba hacker and find their avatars in order to re-establish a connection. Fun fact: The song intentionally switches up in "Next Level" at that specific moment because, if you pay attention to the lyrics, it says "Naevis calling" which is referring to the fact that their avatars are summoning them to their Kwangya realm, so they teleport to the virtual realm (where everything is different) and then when the beat switches back to "Next Level" they are shown going back to the real world. Everything SM does, even the most minute detail, such as the structure of the song is done for a very specific reason. However, this is far from the first time SM has ever done mashups and had songs where it switches up the beat to a completely different song in the middle of the song. It started with songs like Girls Generations "I Got A Boy," and they have done it with SHINee's "Sherlock (Clue & Note), F(X) and Red Velvet, NCT and even SuperM's song "One (Monster & Infinity)." It's a very signature SM style.
Part 3: To understand how all of SM's groups are connected, you need to keep in mind that it all began with EXO's debut in 2012. As you know, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from Planet Exo who have been sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are believed to be caused by the Red Force. The Red Force is thought to be here on Earth inflicting their evil agenda -- corrupting humanity and causing all the bad things that are happening in the world, such as war, hate and destruction of the environment, etc. And because EXO is trying to undo and prevent the Red Force from accomplishing their goals, the Red Force is also trying to take down EXO by capturing them, corrupting them and standing in their way, etc. Some theories even believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline. Some think that Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, could be the Red Force. SuperM is the Kpop industry's very first supergroup which debuted in October 2019 and their concept and storyline is centered around the fact that they are Avengers-like superheros, so SuperM is the group that pretty much connects everything together. As part of EXO's story, Baekhyun and Kai -- who are members of EXO -- have recruited members from SM Entertainment's other male Kpop groups -- Taemin from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark from NCT and Ten and Lucas from WayV -- and formed SuperM, to help them battle the Red Force. It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup. Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. Theories have also speculated that NCT's/WayV's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline. As with everything NCT does, it all has to do with dreams, dreaming or something to do with being in a dream state, which could very easily connect to EXO's other world and other dimension theories. Now, to explain how aespa is connected to the story. aespa debuted in November 2020, and so far they have 3 MVs that are connected to their storyline. So their next MV "Savage" will continue the story. I am also starting to wonder if maybe aespa has something to do with the Tree of Life from EXO's storyline, because, in "Next Level," you see aespa and their avatars with what looks like the mother tree from the Hollywood movie "Avatar," so I wonder if maybe aespa were made the guardians of the Tree of Life, tasked with hiding the two halves of the tree. So, maybe the Tree of Life is what the Black Mamba is after. I think the Black Mamba maybe working with the Red Force, or it could be a separate evil being who also wants to find the Tree of Life and prevent peace from being restored in the Universe. As we are told in the intro of EXO's debut "Mama" MV, the Tree of Life was split in half in order to prevent the Red Force from gaining control of the heart of the Tree of Life. However, things on Earth have gotten out of hand, so now EXO needs to reunite the two halves of the tree in order to restore peace. So, I think part of EXO's mission is they are on a quest to find aespa in order to reveal where the tree was hidden. aespa was first introduced to the world in a teaser at the end of SuperM's "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV in 2020 -- about a week or so before aespa's debut. In the last scene of the "One (Monster & Infinity)" MV, we see Taemin with an LG phone and on the phone screen there is a symbol that appears. At the time, when that MV was released, we had no idea what that meant. However, soon after that, we discovered that the symbol you see on Taemin's phone -- ae -- is the logo/symbol for aespa. So, on top of being a teaser for aespa's debut, I think by making aespa a part of SuperM's MV, this was SM's way of establishing aespa's connection to SuperM's/EXO's storyline. Will aespa eventually join forces with EXO to defeat evil or will the Black Mamba gain control and cause aespa to team up with (Red Velvet?) and become members of the Red Force? We will just have to wait to see how SM connects the dots and draws the storylines together. But I have a feeling that, eventually, aespa's story will connect to SuperM's story, and, along the way, also EXO, NCT and Red Velvet's storyline, and maybe Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. (Even though SHINee is part of the second generation in Kpop, the members are the same age as third generation group members, so they sort of bridge that gap between second and third generation.) aespa's story is just another one of SM's epic concepts and mysteries that we will have to wait and see where it takes us.
Their performances on MUSIC SHOWS are really cool too!! The collaboration with CG is so beautiful . Please check their debut performance of BLACK MAMBA!
Yay, more content. Always here for it ❤ It's funny that you say you could picture the chorus in a movie, because that's what it's from lol. “Next Level” Is a remake of an OST from “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”: ruclips.net/video/4B_ZCUlNFeA/видео.html. And on a side note, whenever reactors that are newer to kpop say they feel like they listened to multiple songs in one, I always think of "I Got a Boy" by Girls' Generation. Please consider checking it out ⭐ Thanks for sharing!
You should definitely check out 1st episode of sm cultural universe: Black mamba There is whole terminology that you should know so that you can undertand the plot and song better Pls check it out🙏 Appreciate your hard work❤️
Thanks for this reaction. Can you react to NCT, EXO's closest siblings like real brothers? I would sincerely recommend you to react to 'Make a waish' ,one of NCT U's song. You'll definitely be mesmerized to it. Thanks a lot!
Interesting that you said you could picture a movie scene cuz that's exactly where the song came from. *Next Level by A$ton Wyld-Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw
Funny you said you can picture a movie scene because the original song came from a soundtrack from HOBS and SHAW movie. This is the Korean easpa re-edition of it.
Speaking of it being in a movie, it was originally in one of The Fast and Furious movies, namely Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw. and it was remade for Aespa.
With kpop music videos try to watch the video until the end cause some of them have "post scenes", like post credit scenes from movies and that stuff. So make sure you guys do that instead of pausing before it ends.
You might recognize this song from Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw. This is a remake of the original from that sound track. Funny you mentioned savage effects too bc thats the next mv to check out! SAVAGE!!!

If you watch the video I suggested above, this will all become more clear and aespa's concept should make more sense.
And just like EXO, the members of aespa all have their own powers and symbols that represent them:
💓Karina (Yoo JiMin) is the leader of the group, she is a main dancer and lead rapper: her symbol is a heart and her spirit animal is a whale.
She is Korean
🦋NingNing (Níng Yìzhuo) is the maknae and the main vocalist: her symbol is a butterfly and her spirit animal is a tiger.
Some theories even believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline. Some think that Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, could be the Red Force.

(Even though SHINee is part of the second generation in Kpop, the members are the same age as third generation group members, so they sort of bridge that gap between second and third generation.)
aespa's story is just another one of SM's epic concepts and mysteries that we will have to wait and see where it takes us.
Their performances on MUSIC SHOWS are really cool too!! The collaboration with CG is so beautiful . Please check their debut performance of BLACK MAMBA!
wait until you guys hear the next song SAVAGE which itself is a next level
Yay, more content. Always here for it ❤ It's funny that you say you could picture the chorus in a movie, because that's what it's from lol. “Next Level” Is a remake of an OST from “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”: ruclips.net/video/4B_ZCUlNFeA/видео.html. And on a side note, whenever reactors that are newer to kpop say they feel like they listened to multiple songs in one, I always think of "I Got a Boy" by Girls' Generation. Please consider checking it out ⭐ Thanks for sharing!
What!!! That’s so cool 🤯
You should definitely check out 1st episode of sm cultural universe: Black mamba
There is whole terminology that you should know so that you can undertand the plot and song better

한 때 톱이었던 SM이 원래 있던 노래나 리메이크 해서 쓰고 안무도 뮤직비디오도 이 정도 밖에 못만드나 싶은데 보다보면 중독 됨
To understand their lore, you can check out SMCU Episode 1: Black Mamba first and then you can check out their next MV: Savage 👍🏻
Yesssssssss now SAVAGE!
Speaking of it being in a movie, it was originally in one of The Fast and Furious movies, namely Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw. and it was remade for Aespa.
YOU CAN REACT TO SMCU EP.1 BLACK MAMBA THEN YOU WILL KNOW THEIR CONCEPT

did you know that this song is a remix of the original one from the movie fast and furious?
With kpop music videos try to watch the video until the end cause some of them have "post scenes", like post credit scenes from movies and that stuff. So make sure you guys do that instead of pausing before it ends.
