Xc70 is the best of both all worlds. Almost as good as a pickup truck and suv. Plus I think they are the last of the squarish Volvo wagons and will be collector items to some degree in the future
I love this video!!! I owned a 2004 XC70, then my 2008 XC 70 (also silver!), and I bought my white 2020 v60 a few weeks ago!!! I just got my 2008 XC70 detailed and it cleaned up amazingly well. I’m going to miss that car especially for the reasons you mentioned! Those seats!!! Such a gem. Whoever buys her will be getting a good vehicle. We are sad to see her go.
Excellent Video! I have a 2013 XC70 D5. It’s a workhorse for towing a 1400kg caravan for work purposes. It tows the van with ease and has shedloads of power…..you can throw the water barrels and all the stuff you need in the boot without even thinking about it. As you say it’s not great at going round corners fast but here in Scotland the chances are there would be a pot-hole on the apex of the corner so you don’t really want to be going fast round them😂 I recently spent 2 nights sleeping in it. 6ft 1 tall and I got an airbed in with the seats flat and it was brilliant. The only issue I have had with it is the Sat-nav system tells me i’m in Eastern Europe all the time. I have tried the software update but it asks for a licence code which I don’t have. Once the kids are older and My job doesn’t require me to tow, I will go for the V60 cross country as it is an absolutely beautiful car.
If you compare one of the last XC70 from 2015-16 with the V60 CC you will see that it looks still fresh and good. This previous generation with small wheels and other smalls outdated details looks of course not as good as the V60CC.
I’ve got an XC70 T6. It’s a very solid car, reliable and durable to a very high degree. Great cargo space, too, I have brought luggage along and slept in it at the same time.
I think the V90CC is more comparable with the XC70, still not the same full load volume due to the lower roof, but a longer load bay. The V60CC is wider than the XC70. I'll stick with my XC70 for the moment.
I just bought an old XC90 -05 for fun, and when comparing with my Kia Optima 2019 the Volvo seats are so much better. I used to have a V70 D5 and that engine was fantastic but I think the seats in my XC90 is better.
I really love Volvos, right now I am in Canada temporarily and miss my V60(2019) so much. I am going to buy a preowned XC70 in Canada, how about the 2011 Volvo XC70 T6 with 155,754 km(US$15,900), do you think that is a good deal maybe? Does the old Volvo an easy daily fixed car?
These differences forced me out of volvos into subarus after 30 years of only owning volvos for myself and putting all my kids in them. I've owned a 240, 2 or 3 740s, 2 850s, a 960, a v70, s80 and xc70. Still have a v70 (160K), xc70 (nearing 200K) and S80 (120K), but the latest is an Outback. If they hadn't completely neutered the Volvo station wagons as a utility vehicle (basically a small covered pick-up) I'd still be buying them.
My father who has been driving a mk2 v70 for 10 years is now looking to get a newer one. I suggested a V60 but he feels they are too small to sit in. (he's 63 year old and 175cm tall, not fat either) How would you say the seated space feels when comparing the two? Does the v60 really feel that tiny?
interesting ... my 2006 XC70 gets 25mpg highway and I crossed a mountain range every day commuting to work. It handled sharp curves extremely well: I preferred it to my S80 for mountiain driving. The S80 has huge acceleration, even if you're already at 60mph, but my xc70 was no laggard either. Obviously had already gone down hill by 2008.
Its faster n better round twisty bits. But really if ya wont a fast wagon not much there co bmw commadore with ls 3. Really like the xc 70 cos is what it is.
I would go for the XC70, because it's useable for camping too and the boxy design gives you more cargo space. Nice review. Keep on rolling.
They changed the Volvo look that everyone grew to love, & now the 2021 V60 looks just like any other SUV out there! :(

I have a XC70 T6 Polestar with all bells and whistles. With 325 hp, 354 lb/ft 210mm ground clearance, this wagon is best all-round all-time to me.
That’s some serious power for a station wagon!🔥 6 cylinders, correct?!
Xc70 is the best of both all worlds. Almost as good as a pickup truck and suv. Plus I think they are the last of the squarish Volvo wagons and will be collector items to some degree in the future
Like them both. Volvo wagons are timeless. They grows in you as you own them.
Congrats on the new car and nice to see the evolution in this often-overlooked segment!

Nice review, i like them both, but i own a 2011 XC70--D5.
They are both great wagons! THanks for the comparison.

Agree 100%
Useful comparison for those of us who have a V70 or X Country V70 and are looking at V60.

Good comparison on the physical size, but really the comparable XC70 is the T6 engine.
2021 Looks amazing
Nice video. Excellent comparison!
You should compare with an XC70 T6 Polestar--325 HP 354 Torque.
I would absolutely love to, I just don't have regular access to one!

Is the safety on the same level in both cars ?
The 5 cylinder is a way better engine.
1000%
lol, it's the same Volvo Modular engine with 4 5 or 6 cyl. 5 cyl for the sound, 6 for power.
@@STK34761 Incorrect. The 4-cilinder engine is a VEA engine, wat ch is totally different to the e.g. D5204T7. Het your facts straight.
D5 is legend
@@demri123 D3, D4 also, they’re all 5 cilinders … the 5 in D5 does not refer to the number of cilinders.

nice work, want to see comparision on going on the road, that would be really good work too
XC70 is Volvo Best car made ever 👌👍👍
is it xc70 bigger inside, more spacious than v60 ??I am talking about the interior, not the cargo ?
Video coming soon on the newly acquired v60? And are the employee lease just a year? It seems so quick honestly
Yes and yes!
My father who has been driving a mk2 v70 for 10 years is now looking to get a newer one.

Thank you for the video,I have a question. Why you didint compare the back seats as well?
Very helpful. Just what I needed.

Did you do overseas delivery?
Volvo makes by far the most incredible wagons in the world!!! And my favourite is the Volvo XC70 D5 2012- 2015. for European countries...
very cool comparison video. I almost bought the v60 cc myself. love wagons.
It's kinda cute how both father and son has chosen volvo
I want a 5 or 6 cylinder, I do not wish to continue to drive a 4 cylinder
I enjoyed this comparo!
I would stick with the XC 70, because I don't mind driving a tank, I don't care how fast it goes, and I prefer normally aspirated engines to turbos.
What happened to the S60?!
Turned in the lease! I have this V60CC now.
XC70 allllllllllllllllllll the way!!!
D5 is the way to go.
Xc70 or v60
👏👏👏🇧🇷🇧🇷

XC70...the 60 cabin is horrible bling bling
I have had Volvos for over 30 years live in uk Sussex 🇬🇧 been in a head on to own a xc70 v90 cross country is best drive safes car on rds
FIRST
Well done!
I like them both, but I would prefer XC70, I have XC70 D5 2008 myself and am very happy with it and have XC60 D5 2010 too so what else do I need 🤩
