  • The Canal Society of New Jersey toured the rivers of Germany and rails and canals of Poland in July 2003, organized by Fred Hedi.
The tour starts with a boat lift Ausstellungshalte in Scharnebeck, Germany.
Later in Poland I ride a steam train shooting pictures inside the locomotive cab with two engineers, and finally riding the unique Elbląg Canal incline plane Pochynia Buczynrec, modeled on the 21 incline planes of the Morris Canal in New Jersey, built in 1824 and abandoned in 1924.
This tourist attraction may no longer be operating.
