Hello How-FixIT, My laptop would not turn on because I tripped on the power cord. Someone told me it could either be the power cord or something in the motherboard that fried. How to check if it is the power cord or something else on the mother board that is defective? Thank you!

    • @j.m.9130

paper towel and rubbing alcohol works fine if the thermal compound isn't cooked. If the compound is brittle, I like Goo Gone on a paper towel, then a final wipe with alcohol. For compound that was squeezed out beyond the edges, a popcicle stick and or toothpick work well. So you don't end up chasing ghosts, maintain ESD awareness at all times... good luck, get paid :)

Me podrían ayudar a solucionarlo. Gracias.

Saludos

you might've static shocked your motherboard then, either buy another mboard or get another laptop (the hard drive may still work so you can transfer the files to the new laptop)
