The only reason it seems like it's worse is because we have the internet and social media now. Unfortunately what we see online is mostly highlighting the bad side of things, no one posts & shares all the good things.
Crime has been on a decline for decades. Stop trying to make it seem like things are worse nowadays.
Now I'm not saying things are perfect and there is still racism and other serious issues still going on, but to say things have gotten worse? Please.
Too be fair since this episode was aired in 1999 the US population has grown by about 54 million people. And some of these videos were from like the early 90s and the population has grown by almost 100 million people since then. No wonder crime has gotten worse but also news travels many many times faster then it did back in the day. I was born in 2001 and we didn't have internet in our home until 2006 and I didn't start using it until like 2011 and not because my parents didn't allow me, I just had no interest in it as I was more focused on playing inside and outside with my friends and obsessed with playing football (soccer).
These are the most horrifying, thrilling, dangerous real life moments that movies can't make...no takes, no cuts, but the real deal!
And worst of all, there are NO do overs.

Exactly. If you think you're being wrongfully arrested, that's what court is for.
It's really easy to say that's what the court is for when you're not the one losing your job or your home or your kids because of a wrongful arrest. They DON'T have to try you right away and even 2 weeks in jail can seriously screw up your whole life. You can lose everything you own VERY quickly.

Sgt. Tony Corotto, the same officer who pursued a drunk driver who tried to break open a fire hydrant with a tire iron on July 20, 1993, pulled over a Mitsubishi Eclipse for no plates and evasion. This was one of Atlanta's chases which ended fiery.
It's reasons like this that I have always concealed carry and chosen to open carry when I'm at work as security. Whenever I'm in a work environment I want to make it very clear that I carry a 357 with the speed loadeer on my hip, I do this because I would rather someone see me as a threat and engage me over my customers and my fellow co-workers. This is because I've gone through concealed carry course as well as my 6 month security weapons carry training program. Then when I'm off work on my own time I always concealed carry even on my own property because you never know when you'll need it and not have it, so I'd rather have it and not need it.
