      mazurka, redowa, quadrille (square
      dance) + English longways country dance became popular in mid + late 1800s in W + E Europe, N+ S America
      + Caribbean,.Philippines,,Cape Verde,
      Mauritius,,Seychelles, etc.

    They dance this same musical style in Mexico. They call it Chotís.

      Yea in Mexico its called chotiz and the musical dance and style was brought by Europea immigrants to northern Mexico around the mid 1800s

      It's actually called a Schottice or Chatese or Chotise polka. So many interpretations but I can verify this is the correct music of the absolute classic.

      I have a piece of sheet music, old photocopy that I got in Chicago - very similar notes titled "Schottis, efter Erik Olsson". When I googled that title, nothing came up. I can't read the Swedish text above it.

    That’s swedish, not scottish. That’s a swedish traditional.

      The dance is called Schottischer. An old european folk dance
