I think this video was very informative for anyone struggling to decided what type of school to attend. At the end of the day it all balls down to personal preference and people actually doing there research for themselves. Great video 🙌👑
Thank you. I have a bachelors, masters and trying to find the right PsyD program, but there are only 2 in Arizona that are APA accredited and I have been waitlisted for one. I don't want to waste time waiting years to become accepted. I will do my research, but this helps a lot.
This is really good information for those headed to or in school. I am going to share this with my students because I think it will be really beneficial. This will help them with their educational endeavors.
I think it all depends what you want to get out of the school. I actually own and operate my own online school which is not accredited as yet but I can still offer certification.
Hi dear , I want to get my PsyD in clinical psych but I’m having hardship because of work and family life like you mentioned. I’m afraid to not get into an APA school because I may not be able to be licensed! I want to become a neuropsychologist.
I went for an accredited online master course... that ish is expensive, but Imma do anything to please my mom 😭👀 she wants me to get a master and so I will.
This is so helpful, thank you!!! How important would you say apa vs non apa affiliated internships are? I am really struggling to wrap my mind around the tuition costs of apa accredited schools... but I keep hearing that apa internships are essential, and very hard to find if attending a non apa school 🤯
Hi Kerri, My first recommendation would be to check with your state board and find out what their requirements are to sit for licensure (EPPP). If they don't require an APA accredited program you have 1 piece of info to help in your decision making. In terms of internships, depending on where you live, your state requirements, and what type of work you plan to do after becoming a licensed psychologist, securing an APA internship might be necessary. From my research and conversations with other psychologists, academia and state VA's require APA otherwise it's preference and that can be overcome with experience and a stellar CV. Please note that there are more APA internships than students so while you may have to wait until a 2nd or 3rd cycle, you can secure an APA internship without attending an APA accredited school. I hope this info helps! Feel free to reach out to me with any other questions you might have! I'm happy to help!
There are. They go unmatched because the process is confusing and students don't always have the information or the opportunities are not always convenient in terms of location or fit. Thanks for commenting!
Hi, thanks for useful information , I have a question : I have Phd clinical psychology from Iran , and could i have chance for participate in supervision for license ? APA will approve my PhD as your experiences?
they make it impossible to be happy with a degree from an accredited institution. You need to work harder to overcome. also haven't meet a non profit school that did not sent me to account payable. The bigotry and elitism is real.

There are a few PsyD that are fully funded tuition options: Georgia Southern University and Baylor University- to name a few;
I love that the tide is changing! That's amazing and inevitable!

This is great content. Very informative
Thank you so much for this video! :)
Your right! When you are working in your own practice or interviewing the program you went to wouldn’t be as important as experience
I think accreditation depends on the field is of study, but it’s definitely not mandatory. Good info.
Going to school is a struggle 🤦🏾♀️. Finishing and getting a job is a struggle too
Anyone knows if walden is regionally accredited?
My opinion is I better attend an accredited school. Better safe than sorry.
How do you find the left over internships?
❤ I appreciate you so much
So helpful!! Thank you

There are not more internship openings than students. Every year, there are students who go unmatched.

Is there a way to contact you privately for more information?

Hi Reza Life. I would speak directly with APA or the licensure board of the state you live or will be living in. Good luck!
Adulting is a struggle PERIOD!!!
From what I learned in school, accreditation is very important. I may be mistaking tho.
DaeEaglei agreed. Depending on the requirements of your state it may not be required.
My Psych Life oh got you.
