    Goldshell simply needs to be wiser when setting their price point.

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад

      Think a better word is greedy. They are fully aware of market value/where pricing should be. All the shady stuff that went on behind the scenes with the resellers/distributors with the AL-box release is evident of that.

  • @hristo7777
    @hristo7777 4 месяца назад +3

    Goldshell was first on tech with kadena for short time and now with alephium, so they are not irrelevant, but I see no point of home miner if big boy asic L9 is almost 4x more efficient. They need to be close to current tech all the time.

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад

      They're still relevant , but these silly choices can make them irrelevant pretty quickly. A larger scale aleph Asic before the competition could turn things around quickly. Yes, these are no match for the larger Asics , but it's a very different segment/market here, but I agree they should be at least near the realm of current gen to keep going. When there was no competition in this segment , didn't matter much, but things are quickly changing and they will get left behind if they don't continue to innovate.

    Goldshell is perhaps in need of new management. Great potential but too distant from the end customer.

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад +2

      Definitely, they need to really re-engage with the community , feels like they keep fumbling over and over while these new guys are just going to trample over them and leave them behind.

    Yeah, I tend to agree with you on this. Goldshell has been bad with pricing, and I've voiced this in their discord. Design wise is whatever honestly. I mean I don't decide on whether I'll buy an asic on how it looks. I do like the built in PSU, purely because it'll take away confusion for the newer people. But wouldn't want it on one I'll actually buy. Sadly the pricing and performance of this one won't make it worth it and if I can I'll try to steer people away from it. Goldshell really needs to do better with the pricing of their miners and also offer larger units. Like give me a dang AL Lite already and lets be done with it lol

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад

      💯 and yes to that AL lite, they should really be capitalizing on being the first to market with alephium , they have a huge advantage even there , start releasing specs /preorders to start building some more excitement with some better pricing. They really screwed their customer base over with how they totally botched the initial release and especially with where the price is now for it from resellers. Hopefully they learn the lesson, come in more aggressive and start coming back before they wait too long and get beat out by everyone again.

  • @CantFindInYoutube

    For the first time I don't agree with you regarding to the PSU, who buy this machine want to power it and forget and be able to put it a living room or office, Jasminer and the new Alphapex have integrated PSU it's the same client target. During the winter I warm my living room with a X16-Q if I try to do that with a machine without integrated psu it wont be allowed. Probably if you open it you will find a 6 pin from the psu to the mainboard. Looking at it I can see a near future AL Plus. For colour we can wrap them easily.

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад +1

      Makes sense , but from my point of view , I would definitely take a more standardized easy to replace /cheap psu over a proprietary hard to source more expensive psu any day of the week as it's something that will eventually fail. But like you mentioned , for this target audience , it definitely makes more sense to just have an all in one solution for ease of use/operation and yes, definitely will likely see more alph Asics coming from them hopefully sooner than later

      Thanks for watching brotha, yeah have not been a fan of their moves , ESPECIALLY all that crap with the AL boxes , but still do hope they turn it around as we need as many manufacturers we can in the space so there's more competition/innovation in this space which is better for the US as the consumers.

    Agree with the external PSU thing. I like choices (aka competition) from the market. If your all about aesthetics then integrated, yes. Otherwise no.

    Goldshell needs to bring back the RGB fans, those things were hotcakes. Plus, we all know RGB gives that bonus hash. I'm curious what their profit margin is and financials are.

    • @miningstacker

      Yeah, anything at this point. Or even changing the designs , or making them modular , they can literally create any form factor with these things and they choose this sad little black box.

      Just be careful with those duty fees depending on your country and what you buy. Most resellers/stores final prices are still typically lower because of this.

    • @RainBitcoins
      @RainBitcoins 4 месяца назад +1

      @@miningstacker I noticed on goldshells cart, it allows me to input what value I want them to declare/invoice it at. I wonder if that actually works once it arrives in my country.. But dollar purchase to profit ratio the kso Ultra still knocks them all out of the park. I just hate how hot my Ultra runs, it's crazy how hot it needs to be in order to hash at its said 400gh/s if I actively cool it then it goes below 350. I'm contemplating ordering a second one, especially now that iceriver has given me a 80 dollar coupon, but I'm thinking Bitmain is soon going to flood the market with more Kaspa asic... Maybe a KA box pro if I can get one even cheaper than they currently are.. Prices go down everyday. But then there's Canaan haha... They told me personally they are soon going to release another home asic that's way more powerful than the nano 3. Man decisions decisions lol.

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад +1

      @@RainBitcoins the ka box pro is appealing because of the form factor , but more price , for less efficiency is a hard pill to swallow , especially if they do crack the ultras and can squeeze more out of them , as for goldshell , prices are just consistently better from resellers still , not sure id risk the potential of them valuing it correctly for you depending on the amount. And for Canaan , just not a fan of small BTC Asics , just a huge cash grab in my opinion , unless you really want to solo mine bch , which is not something that is even remotely appealing for me at least.

    • @miningstacker
      @miningstacker  4 месяца назад

      @RainBitcoins yes , ka box pro has been dropping , haven't personally purchased from bitmars , but I would think they also value low to avoid those duty fees ,I would reach out to them to find out. Only ones I can vouch for are the ones I have referral links with as those are vendors I have personally vetted anonymously and have purchased from anonymously without issue. NHASH on certain models tends to be pretty good on prices , but definitely go with whoever has the best prices. Ka box has definitely been trending down , 1k to me is a fair price point , the idea of one unit and one psu is definitely appealing , wish I iceriver would have an in between model in the 4-800w range so we wouldn't have to mess with these power bricks and barrel plugs to add a bit more hashrate.
