If you do go range, 1 tick blowpipe is a *lot* of fun. 17 second zulrah being slow is a weird feeling. The one downside is the limited utility of bp because so many bosses have such high defense that even with rigour and boosted accuracy, bp gonna splash a lot.
I'm concerned about Nex farming, but I've never done it before. I know kills go fast, but I'm not sure if I stand a good chance of getting a ZCB with even like 10 hours of Nex kills due to the weird group drop chance.
@@jamochathunder198 nex is a weird one, because for most bosses you can get a ballpark by dividing the normal expectation by 5, but realistically, nex will be massed on every world, so the kills will go *so* quickly that half the time you may not even get a hit in, and the other half of the time, you're gonna have the 1/300 (ish) for a horn to roll (granted 5x so 1/60) followed by a 1/500 to be the one who gets the unique. But the kills will be so fast that I have no idea how much faster it'll be. Range probably has the advantage here due to ruby and diamond bolts, followed by mage for voidwaker guaranteed damage into shadow for high accuracy, if the kills last that long.
@@jamochathunder198 You don't have to worry about that too much, with the hard CAs completed (which should be very doable with the A/D/Z zcb region combo) players who are in your cc can be invited to join your private Nex sessions. This way, I imagine lots of people will be doing Nex in small groups of 2-5 which will still be pretty easy and allow for a much better drop chance!
Fun Factor being the top of your list is GREAT. So many players are obsessed with finding the best relic by the numbers, picking the best region for that relic and getting the most out of their time in Leagues. It’s a fun game mode and if that’s how they have their fun, go for it, but I’d encourage everyone to just play.
Getting best gear can be fun in itself, but that should be a personal choice. like "oh i killed bandos in 7 seconds instead of 8" isn't really gonna make or break your league haha
yeah my group of 3 will with each style will all have d+z, to do the raids together, ends up being very close damage output compared to fully bis regions too
Yeah I’m in the same boat. Having a strong build isn’t necessarily the most important thing. I wanted to go ranged but I really don’t like crossbows and the progression, so I will go melee. Having Progression be like RCB>ACB>ZCB with void>arma>masouri feels so painfully boring

I have another great video idea for you. You should cover which bosses are in every region, including demi bosses and such. Since most have some sort of a KC task attached, people who are looking for dragon tier might want to know what major/(mini)major grinds they might be getting into! Plus I just want to see more content from you!
I think Wildy is more valuable than Fremmy due to the resource and GP abundance, large list of skilling options, weapons for all 3 styles that have specs and are easy to charge, and wildy slayer. Plus the regions sustains itself with blighted food/pots and probably has a pretty easy tasklist.
Door build with FZM is also great. Gets you leaf-bladed axe as sustain weapon to use until you get door. Plus thanks to the immunities from the melee relic vorkath is basically free so that gets you plenty of easy prayer.
You totally made me question my route for ranged with the crossbow insight!!! Now to go have pace around the apartment for an hour haha. Thanks the awesome deep dive DoubleShine!!!
Deranged arch also drops full crystal keys for your first dragonstones if you go asgarnia and black dhide body, black dhides, also diamonds for bolts. He really is the iron man early game loot piñata.

The nice thing about the ranged route is you'll still do pretty good damage even with an arma crossbow and rigour, so it's not like absolute best in slot is necessary before you really start doing damage. It just keeps getting better with every drop
The fun factor was actually what I wanted to hear. Leagues is off putting at times with even more effeciencyscape. Liked the video as soon as you said fun factor. Have fun in leagues! I know I will.
Last leagues I learned raids2 in full melee, so this leagues I want to learn COX as I've actually never tried it. Thanks to your wonderfull videos I've decided to go asgarnia > tiranwin (as I also want to get better at the gauntlet, and dont really have time for very time intensive grinds) into Kourend. I'm super excited for this leagues and hope everyone else is too!
Good luck! There's some really nice changes coming to CoX soon that should make the raid way more fun, so you're learning it at a pretty good time! Plus if you hit your tbow, that's just free dps for the rest of the leagues.
Doing the same. But I’m going tirannwn first then I think Asgarn second. I think full crystal with bofa will make god wars a breeze. Get god wars gear and then go to kour last I think

Great video! I'D have to say I am tempted to go to the DOOR build! It would prove so challenging to build but theres something unique about being able to afk inferno up to triple jads. All hail the DOOR!
Honorable melee mention: barrows gear also gets a massive buff from the relic as guthans, veracs and dharoks are 5t 5t 7t normally so 2t 2t 3t in the league. Basically your early game is set with barrows if you go door build ZKM
im very glad i decided to give leagues a shot this year because i absolutely love the way you break down the game and keep it engaging by not trying to just push everyone into what you think your best strategy is but more so help folks with less game knowledge have a more solid base to make their own plans from! you are quickly one of my favorite osrs content creators for sure i hope you make lots more content here
I am not super familiar with the newest updates to osrs over the last handful of years I tend to always do what I was doing back in the day but the increased OP exp rates fill me with so much dopamine I’ll definitely be resubbing to osrs next week
I think with ruinous prayers and the spec relic announced now there's a viable melee route in Kourend-Desert-Asgarnia. Don't need piety, unlocks two raids and DHL, d claws, plus all of kourend skilling. Thinking that's my route
My picks for Worst region combination: Magic with Tirannwn, Fremmenik, Asgarnia. (In this order) Why: 1. Tirannwn's only magic upgrade is the magic fang, which cannot be used on a trident since Kandarin isn't unlocked. I'm not sure if unlocking Tirannwn unlocks the iban's staff, but if it does, that will be your best in slot magic weapon (and slayer staff) until Asgarnia (or until you get a better spell, like fire wave). 2. Fremmenik unlocks the seer's ring (and the mud battlestaff, but eh). (getting them will be tedious) 3. Asgarnia has some decent unlocks for mage, those being the void magic set, Staff of The Dead, and eternal boots. 4. If you wanted to increase late game power, but make the grind tedious and horrible, Asgarnia could be swapped out with Morytania. (this way you can get the sanguinesti and nightmare staff, but getting them will be hell). Best in slot gear with Tirannwn, Fremmenik, Asgarnia would be: Normal void magic set, eternal boots, seer's ring (not imbued), Toxic SoTD, Ancient wyvern shield, infernal cape, amulet of fury, any blessing. (Best in slot gear with Morytania instead of Asgarnia: Ahrims, Wizard boots, seer's ring (not imbued), Regen bracelet, Sanguinesti or Nightmare staff, Ancient wyvern shield, infernal cape, Amulet of fury, any blessing.) (This is significantly better, but I feel like this would be an incredibly tedious route, and probably not very fun.) I'm sure i missed some sort of gear upgrade, so the best in slots might be different.
This made me even more excited for range route. i was still dead set on tir and hadnt considered a desert kourend asgarnia route. definitely will be going that way
the beauty of DZA ranged is how strong you'll be entering PvM with just a rune crossbow, and every single drop you get will only continue to boost your damage. Most of the other routes really require you to hit a raid drop before you start doing significant damage.

I am going to do WAM melee. Voidwaker and Ely Shield from Wildy, Justiciar from Morytania, and getting Guardian Boots and SGS from Asgarnia. My goal is mostly to learn content I have never touched in the Wildy and TOB, and have a fun end goal by being a mega paladin by the end.
i'm going for that as well, it sounds so stupidly hillarious to just walk forward and tank everything. I think there were insane recoil / sustain relics last trailblazer to really polish the Elysian / justi / blood fury setup and I just love the idea of turning off prayer most of the time just to maximize damage output. My only concern is that we'll be kinda missing some fun content to actually tank and recoil to oblivion... The DOOR meme sounds similar but more focused on actually smashing rather than just straight up tanking, could be fun too

If my math is correct, blood fury is actually BiS with melee relic with not just sustain, but with damage too. 57 max hit with blood fury vs 56 max hit with torture because of extra def bonuses. Blood fury loses to torture in accuracy by 2.5%, which ends up losing in high DEF opponents, but that won't matter if you get a dwh.
one caveat with the fire surge build is that there's a 1t delay when autocasting. so if you plan on doing content that requires moving a lot (olm), ur fire surge setup is gonna feel very awkward unless you're manually casting it
i think its worth noting if u get the bofa then putit on accurate; both accurate and rapid both are 2 tick, but u do get the extra accuracy from using that style
The Wilderness also have the spectral shield in corp beast tho. My worst choices: Magic with fremenik, tirannwn and Asgarnia. But for real tho: I honestly don't know what route to go, i want to go to the wilderness because i want to take advantage of the safe deaths there to be able to bring good itens without fear, since i'm terrible at bosses/reflexes it would be the perfect time to try to kill wilderness bosses. If i go ranged i could try and go asgarnia, but while zeah would be nice like i said i'm terrible at reflexes, and while the gauntlet does require them i doubt they are harder than CoX, but i could be wrong since i never did either of them. If i go melee i would need to go do ToA and/or ToB and that is also not great. If i go mage i need to go desert, and while ToA is considered easier (never done it as well) it's still a raid, besides i would need to keep killing the leviathan and that is a very hard boss, or so i'm told. What do you guys think?
7:25 dropping kandarins because of ruinous prayers after release now is SO HYPE! i wanted ot do cox, and now we get EVEN BETTER PIS PRAYER and get ot have a region that is extreemly competative skilling wise. only downside is looss of a off style magic choice so you either want to slip in desert instead of mory or grind hard for spagghetti staff to carry ya cheers
I'm planning to use this league to learn bosses. I don't want to learn Desert as it's probably the easiest to learn in the main game due to the variable difficulty of ToA. So I'm left with Asgarnia, Kourend, and Morytania. And I have no idea what combat style would be best for those. Ranged is probably better due to not having piety, but there's so much melee loot and the Bulwark idea sounds fun to me. Maybe a relic will let us choose a second relic of this tier so I could just use both styles.
Something I dont see people mentioning is that the range relic only helps with range, and the mage relic only helps with mage... But the melee relic also gives defence bonuses and immunities to status conditions, helping with whatever style you're fighting... I seriously think that people are underestimating how much that much bonus tankiness will help.

And I know I can trust a fellow former A-F-K melee gang member :) Range builds do seem strongest so far but for some reason I am much more excited to go magic this time around. K+D go so well together that you really can run anything, it's kinda nice if you don't mind those two since your last pick is purely for fun or skilling methods, etc...
I hope you, or anyone else sees this and helps me with some advice lol. I’m a new father and going to be solo and on mobile a decent amount. I’ve never done a raid and stuck on my region choice. Was thinking maybe Kandarin, Zeah, Desert and going mage main? I just want to be able to complete a lot of tasks and boss on mobile if needed lol. Any advice? That's a great route! Kandarin and Desert are both the best zones for Mage, and Tombs is pretty easy to get into if you've never done a raids before. However, I would encourage going for Fremmy or Asgarnia as a 3rd region if you're a bit strapped on time. Learning a 2nd raid can be a bit daunting and while Zeah is the best 3rd zone for mage, you may have more fun just slamming bosses for easy tasks in Fremmy/Asgarnia

It’s worth mentioning that dinh’s is also a big dps spec (usually > claws) since it double hits your target on spec, without even factoring in its aoe utility. Door gang rise up!
I still think it might be too early to *really* confirm area choices. This combat relic really flipped ranged route players to ditch prif with asgar. There might be another relic until release that flips it back around. Who knows.
realistically once the spec relic drops or some more combat relics this whole lost could get flipped on its head. Take everything with a grain of salt!
For the Asgarnia pickers (especially range), VOID VOID VOID. Range Void is better than Armadyl for most DPS calculation and can be acquired insanely early on.
It's genuinely hard to resist the Cult of the Door but it's the exact opposite route I'm going for melee Also, looking at the worst regions is actually a good way to help better think of your regions I can't believe I haven't thought of that
for anyone watching this now one of the later relic seems to be a prayer book meaning you no longer need to consider the regions that give dmg prayers if you pick the prayer relic
Unless something groundbreaking happens in the next week of teasers, im currently planning on doing melee relic and unlocking, Zeah, Asgarnia, and Fremennik. So excited that last recall is back and isnt competing for a relic choice this time around. Cant wait to see what other madness the rest of the relics can cause.

I have little to no experience with the "optimal" ranged build, but i think im going to try it out. It will be a good opportunity for me to learn some of the end game bosses I have no experience with.
I'll was going Ranged but the magic relic has convinced me to revert back to my ambitious choice of ZDM, The plan is to get tasks, diary, and skilling out of the way in the starters/ zeah and the desert and to invest heavily in combat once Mory is unlocked. (Maybe water/fire tome? Plus rada's blessing is nice even at a +1) Planning on going from fire battlestaff ->infinity robes/master wand/mages book once I have a strong enough minigame multiplier + Ring of Shadows for 75k +Magic Ammy-> Ahrims -> Fire Cape/99 Cape T-> Hit up the raids and pray
Idk if someone has mentioned it, but magic has another spec - Nightmare Staffs. Volatile in particular competes with Tumuneks Shadow with a Spec build. Could go ZKM or FKM as extra non-desert options.
Love your video's! I have just one remark: for the alternate mage route I believe you need to have picked Desert as well to be able to get the Magus ring in the Fremenik area.
How bad would it be if I didn't go Kandarin as melee? I really wanted to go Asgarnia, Desert and Morytania. Is losing out on Piety/Chivalry going to hurt me that badly?
You should still be just fine! you still have ultimate strength for 15% str bonus (Piety is 23) and scythe does more damage than fang so it works out. plus you'll have blood fury over torture for some lifesteal which is probably more important than dps
Cult of the Door calls to me, I love Dinhs so much. KKA seems to be the most flexible though for me personally, while also including Door, but I want to take this league to also learn ToA. Maybe KAD? But then no Door. I wish we had a fourth choice, so hard to choose. Nonetheless as a huge noob this video certainly did help narrow it down for me though, thanks!
Melee: WTZ: You'll have leaf-bladed battleaxe, claws/voidwaker for spec, obsidian armor, torso, piety and that's it. 😅 Ranged: WMF: only Venator and Karils. Mage: TAF: uhhh.... you'll have lunars? 🤣
Always wanted to do a tank build and you know it generally isn't that good but with this league the door calls my name and I shall fall into its sweet embrace!
Grrat video, but another good option for ranged could be Desert Asgarnia Fremennik, you loose rigour and the buckler but you get an assembler, venator ring and dfw, wich compensate some of the ranged strength while being less raid heavy. Also venator bow is too cool.
This is the region path I considered for Ranged. It's super good imo. Dfire Ward is only slightly worse than buckler, which is a fine tradeoff for the Venator ring and Assembler. Maybe you don't get Tbow but Zaryte Crossbow is going to be so bonkers anyway I don't think it will really matter.

Hey just wanted to update, I did some more dps calculations and the whip is indeed stronger by about 5-10% unless you need a stab weapon! Sorry for the mistake on my end!
I'm definitely leading to KDA for magic as well, kinda funny that KDA is just individually one of the best choices for both magic and melee. Indeed the main thing leading me to asgarnia is the whisperer for Virtus Robes, and hasta/defender which seem quite useful for grinding out ToA (especially if you decide to grind for shadow you'd be in ToA for a while)
New subscriber here, really enjoying your content. One thing i havent noticed people discussing regarding the range relic is that almost all the time accurate is going to be superior to rapid.
A fun melee build could also be ZMD since it gives you so many 5t weapons to play with. Fast access to the Soulreaper axe from Vardorvis, Bulwark, Scythe, and Fang. As well as full justi to support the door. You don't get piety, defenders or torva here, but it could be fun and varied.
If you do range, you can argue about Tyrannwn for BP in midgame, Bowfa, and the 4tick Dark Bow (with the spec relic this might be very fun?). Also I think Zeah Desert Morytania/Fremennik are very fun for melee. Either the inquis/justi scythe/door build (has it been tried yet?) with Morytania or the Gloves/Rings/Axe build with fremmy, they both have fun stuff, but you miss out on Asgarnia. The main issue I see with DZF is that your body/legs slots are kinda doomed if going melee, no? But you do get two raids and 3 dt2 bosses to have fun with
I think I'm going to go for a Ranged build in Fremennik + Asgarnia + Zeah. Those regions have what I consider to be the most enjoyable content for me, and they seem to synergise reasonably well too. Who knows, though - everything could change once we get the full list of relics and passive effects!
You forgot to mention Mages option of Ancient sceptre if they pick Fremmy but otherwise great video. Its such a minor thing to leave off though as you said, Kandarin and Desert are pretty much mandatory. All sceptre would do is aid you in getting a Shadow if you pick Fremmy as your first region. Otherwise you can add a Dt2 jewel to the sceptre to attempt to buff up the power pre-Shadow. Fremmy could also have some potential use for Range if there is some cool use you can find with a 2-tick Venator bow in multi (If we get explosive attacks back)
Worst regions possible for the relics are these in my opinion; Magic is Fremmenik, Asgarnia and Tirannwn Melee is Tirannwn, Zeah and Wilderness Range is Wilderness, Morytania and Zeah (this one is the hardest to justify for me, but my reasoning is that Zeah, while having incredible upgrades with dhcb, buckler and twisty b, you won’t have any reliable ranged weapon to get you there)
Melee, Tiranwyn, Kourend, Wilderness You get almost no melee bis other than ferocious gloves and arguably blade of saeldor. You get a good spec weapon (claws/voidwaker) but these are essentially duplicated i.e. you waste a region getting another spec weap with very similar use case. Your bis setup ends up being obsidian armour with blade of saeldor and you have bosses like zulrah, olm and zuk you literally and almost none of the raid rewards you can access are particularly useful to you.
Can you kill zulrah with a halberd? almost positive you can get one from the shop at tyrus camp and use it as a 2 tick because of its 5 tick attack speed.

Also, you can get imbued god cape from wildy. That + regular imbued heart helps close the gap a bit with Fremmy at least.

Deranged arch also drops full crystal keys for your first dragonstones if you go asgarnia and black dhide body, black dhides, also diamonds for bolts. He really is the iron man early game loot piñata.

The nice thing about the ranged route is you'll still do pretty good damage even with an arma crossbow and rigour, so it's not like absolute best in slot is necessary before you really start doing damage. It just keeps getting better with every drop

Last leagues I learned raids2 in full melee, so this leagues I want to learn COX as I've actually never tried it. Thanks to your wonderfull videos I've decided to go asgarnia > tiranwin (as I also want to get better at the gauntlet, and dont really have time for very time intensive grinds) into Kourend. I'm super excited for this leagues and hope everyone else is too!
Good luck! There's some really nice changes coming to CoX soon that should make the raid way more fun, so you're learning it at a pretty good time! Plus if you hit your tbow, that's just free dps for the rest of the leagues.
Doing the same. But I’m going tirannwn first then I think Asgarn second. I think full crystal with bofa will make god wars a breeze. Get god wars gear and then go to kour last I think

Great video! I'D have to say I am tempted to go to the DOOR build! It would prove so challenging to build but theres something unique about being able to afk inferno up to triple jads. All hail the DOOR!

Honorable melee mention: barrows gear also gets a massive buff from the relic as guthans, veracs and dharoks are 5t 5t 7t normally so 2t 2t 3t in the league. Basically your early game is set with barrows if you go door build ZKM

im very glad i decided to give leagues a shot this year because i absolutely love the way you break down the game and keep it engaging by not trying to just push everyone into what you think your best strategy is but more so help folks with less game knowledge have a more solid base to make their own plans from! you are quickly one of my favorite osrs content creators for sure i hope you make lots more content here
I am not super familiar with the newest updates to osrs over the last handful of years I tend to always do what I was doing back in the day but the increased OP exp rates fill me with so much dopamine I’ll definitely be resubbing to osrs next week

I think with ruinous prayers and the spec relic announced now there's a viable melee route in Kourend-Desert-Asgarnia. Don't need piety, unlocks two raids and DHL, d claws, plus all of kourend skilling. Thinking that's my route
My picks for Worst region combination:
Magic with Tirannwn, Fremmenik, Asgarnia. (In this order)
Why:
1. Tirannwn's only magic upgrade is the magic fang, which cannot be used on a trident since Kandarin isn't unlocked. I'm not sure if unlocking Tirannwn unlocks the iban's staff, but if it does, that will be your best in slot magic weapon (and slayer staff) until Asgarnia (or until you get a better spell, like fire wave).
2. Fremmenik unlocks the seer's ring (and the mud battlestaff, but eh). (getting them will be tedious)
3. Asgarnia has some decent unlocks for mage, those being the void magic set, Staff of The Dead, and eternal boots.
4. If you wanted to increase late game power, but make the grind tedious and horrible, Asgarnia could be swapped out with Morytania. (this way you can get the sanguinesti and nightmare staff, but getting them will be hell).
Best in slot gear with Tirannwn, Fremmenik, Asgarnia would be: Normal void magic set, eternal boots, seer's ring (not imbued), Toxic SoTD, Ancient wyvern shield, infernal cape, amulet of fury, any blessing.
(Best in slot gear with Morytania instead of Asgarnia: Ahrims, Wizard boots, seer's ring (not imbued), Regen bracelet, Sanguinesti or Nightmare staff, Ancient wyvern shield, infernal cape, Amulet of fury, any blessing.)
(This is significantly better, but I feel like this would be an incredibly tedious route, and probably not very fun.)
I'm sure i missed some sort of gear upgrade, so the best in slots might be different.
im going melee with asgarnia, fremmy, and desert and rocking that sick ass 2t soulreaper axe
my favorite part about that build is slamming vorkath with fang while immune to all dragonfire and venom

This made me even more excited for range route. i was still dead set on tir and hadnt considered a desert kourend asgarnia route. definitely will be going that way
the beauty of DZA ranged is how strong you'll be entering PvM with just a rune crossbow, and every single drop you get will only continue to boost your damage. Most of the other routes really require you to hit a raid drop before you start doing significant damage.

I am going to do WAM melee. Voidwaker and Ely Shield from Wildy, Justiciar from Morytania, and getting Guardian Boots and SGS from Asgarnia. My goal is mostly to learn content I have never touched in the Wildy and TOB, and have a fun end goal by being a mega paladin by the end.
Teams gonna love you as the tank in ToB
i'm going for that as well, it sounds so stupidly hillarious to just walk forward and tank everything. I think there were insane recoil / sustain relics last trailblazer to really polish the Elysian / justi / blood fury setup and I just love the idea of turning off prayer most of the time just to maximize damage output. My only concern is that we'll be kinda missing some fun content to actually tank and recoil to oblivion...
The DOOR meme sounds similar but more focused on actually smashing rather than just straight up tanking, could be fun too

Welcome back! Leagues is how I learned a lot of pvm so it definitely translates if you're paying attention and trying to familiarize with mechanics
That meme mage build is actually brilliant if you have had enough of raids 3.
If my math is correct, blood fury is actually BiS with melee relic with not just sustain, but with damage too. 57 max hit with blood fury vs 56 max hit with torture because of extra def bonuses. Blood fury loses to torture in accuracy by 2.5%, which ends up losing in high DEF opponents, but that won't matter if you get a dwh.
one caveat with the fire surge build is that there's a 1t delay when autocasting. so if you plan on doing content that requires moving a lot (olm), ur fire surge setup is gonna feel very awkward unless you're manually casting it
i think its worth noting if u get the bofa then putit on accurate; both accurate and rapid both are 2 tick, but u do get the extra accuracy from using that style
or longrange to train defense

My worst choices: Magic with fremenik, tirannwn and Asgarnia.
But for real tho:
I honestly don't know what route to go, i want to go to the wilderness because i want to take advantage of the safe deaths there to be able to bring good itens without fear, since i'm terrible at bosses/reflexes it would be the perfect time to try to kill wilderness bosses.
If i go ranged i could try and go asgarnia, but while zeah would be nice like i said i'm terrible at reflexes, and while the gauntlet does require them i doubt they are harder than CoX, but i could be wrong since i never did either of them.
If i go melee i would need to go do ToA and/or ToB and that is also not great.
If i go mage i need to go desert, and while ToA is considered easier (never done it as well) it's still a raid, besides i would need to keep killing the leviathan and that is a very hard boss, or so i'm told.
What do you guys think?

7:25 dropping kandarins because of ruinous prayers after release now is SO HYPE! i wanted ot do cox, and now we get EVEN BETTER PIS PRAYER and get ot have a region that is extreemly competative skilling wise. only downside is looss of a off style magic choice so you either want to slip in desert instead of mory or grind hard for spagghetti staff to carry ya cheers
I'm planning to use this league to learn bosses. I don't want to learn Desert as it's probably the easiest to learn in the main game due to the variable difficulty of ToA.
So I'm left with Asgarnia, Kourend, and Morytania. And I have no idea what combat style would be best for those. Ranged is probably better due to not having piety, but there's so much melee loot and the Bulwark idea sounds fun to me.
Maybe a relic will let us choose a second relic of this tier so I could just use both styles.

Something I dont see people mentioning is that the range relic only helps with range, and the mage relic only helps with mage... But the melee relic also gives defence bonuses and immunities to status conditions, helping with whatever style you're fighting... I seriously think that people are underestimating how much that much bonus tankiness will help.

Range builds do seem strongest so far but for some reason I am much more excited to go magic this time around. Still deciding what to pair with K+D though...
K+D go so well together that you really can run anything, it's kinda nice if you don't mind those two since your last pick is purely for fun or skilling methods, etc...
I hope you, or anyone else sees this and helps me with some advice lol. I’m a new father and going to be solo and on mobile a decent amount. I’ve never done a raid and stuck on my region choice. Was thinking maybe Kandarin, Zeah, Desert and going mage main? I just want to be able to complete a lot of tasks and boss on mobile if needed lol. Any advice?

That's a great route! Kandarin and Desert are both the best zones for Mage, and Tombs is pretty easy to get into if you've never done a raids before.
However, I would encourage going for Fremmy or Asgarnia as a 3rd region if you're a bit strapped on time. Learning a 2nd raid can be a bit daunting and while Zeah is the best 3rd zone for mage, you may have more fun just slamming bosses for easy tasks in Fremmy/Asgarnia

I think Asgarnia is going to be my pick for the third zone. Kandarin, Desert, Asgarnia in that order I suppose! I have never done Nex either so instead of learning CoX, I’ll just learn a little Nex. It’s worth mentioning that dinh’s is also a big dps spec (usually > claws) since it double hits your target on spec, without even factoring in its aoe utility. Door gang rise up!
I still think it might be too early to *really* confirm area choices. This combat relic really flipped ranged route players to ditch prif with asgar. There might be another relic until release that flips it back around. Who knows.
realistically once the spec relic drops or some more combat relics this whole lost could get flipped on its head. Take everything with a grain of salt!

For the Asgarnia pickers (especially range), VOID VOID VOID. Range Void is better than Armadyl for most DPS calculation and can be acquired insanely early on.

Melee gotta be the wackiest style this leagues. Progression is like Rune Long -> DLong -> Leaf Axe -> Fang -> Door

So excited that last recall is back and isnt competing for a relic choice this time around. Cant wait to see what other madness the rest of the relics can cause.

I have little to no experience with the "optimal" ranged build, but i think im going to try it out. It will be a good opportunity for me to learn some of the end game bosses I have no experience with.

I'll was going Ranged but the magic relic has convinced me to revert back to my ambitious choice of ZDM,
The plan is to get tasks, diary, and skilling out of the way in the starters/ zeah and the desert and to invest heavily in combat once Mory is unlocked. (Maybe water/fire tome? Plus rada's blessing is nice even at a +1)
Planning on going from fire battlestaff ->infinity robes/master wand/mages book once I have a strong enough minigame multiplier + Ring of Shadows for 75k +Magic Ammy-> Ahrims -> Fire Cape/99 Cape T-> Hit up the raids and pray
The idea of using the bulwark as a main weapon is amazing, i really wanna do that!

Frem for venator bow and ranged sounds so fun, but extremely niche. Range does seem fun this leagues!
Idk if someone has mentioned it, but magic has another spec - Nightmare Staffs. Volatile in particular competes with Tumuneks Shadow with a Spec build. Could go ZKM or FKM as extra non-desert options.
You got me sold on faith build. Unless evidence supports it won’t work; I’m doing it 😆

Love your video's! I have just one remark: for the alternate mage route I believe you need to have picked Desert as well to be able to get the Magus ring in the Fremenik area.
There's another magic spec weapon in Morytania! The nightmare staff from Phosani's nightmare. Also the Imbued God capes are in wilderness

You should still be just fine! you still have ultimate strength for 15% str bonus (Piety is 23) and scythe does more damage than fang so it works out. plus you'll have blood fury over torture for some lifesteal which is probably more important than dps
Cult of the Door calls to me, I love Dinhs so much. KKA seems to be the most flexible though for me personally, while also including Door, but I want to take this league to also learn ToA. Maybe KAD? But then no Door. I wish we had a fourth choice, so hard to choose.

Melee: WTZ: You'll have leaf-bladed battleaxe, claws/voidwaker for spec, obsidian armor, torso, piety and that's it. 😅
Ranged: WMF: only Venator and Karils.
Mage: TAF: uhhh.... you'll have lunars? 🤣
I love mage TAF being the worst because going ranged TAF is low-key a great option
Always wanted to do a tank build and you know it generally isn't that good but with this league the door calls my name and I shall fall into its sweet embrace!
Grrat video, but another good option for ranged could be Desert Asgarnia Fremennik, you loose rigour and the buckler but you get an assembler, venator ring and dfw, wich compensate some of the ranged strength while being less raid heavy.
Also venator bow is too cool.
Fremmy honestly hella underrated for ranged set up, you lose some dps but can instead save 5x the ammo with avas. saves you time making bolts
This is the region path I considered for Ranged. It's super good imo. Dfire Ward is only slightly worse than buckler, which is a fine tradeoff for the Venator ring and Assembler. Maybe you don't get Tbow but Zaryte Crossbow is going to be so bonkers anyway I don't think it will really matter.

Dude, you're actually a genius. I didn't even think that DLong was going to be better with it being 2 ticks this league! That special attack noise is a classic! Although, how is it stronger than a whip? Maybe I missing something about their stats, but the whip has better strength and slash
Dlong just barely passes it when you include spec! and it's a stab weapon if you need for raids

I read some pretty wild tech about using onyx bolt tips from the tokkul store and the ranged relic that seems like it could be nuts
I'm definitely leading to KDA for magic as well, kinda funny that KDA is just individually one of the best choices for both magic and melee. Indeed the main thing leading me to asgarnia is the whisperer for Virtus Robes, and hasta/defender which seem quite useful for grinding out ToA (especially if you decide to grind for shadow you'd be in ToA for a while)
the bonus melee gear is so nice because if im still dying on akkha im gonna rage

One thing i havent noticed people discussing regarding the range relic is that almost all the time accurate is going to be superior to rapid.
that is not going to be the case as accurate with crossbow/tbow or any other "5 tick rapid weapons" will end up 3 tick instead of 2
A fun melee build could also be ZMD since it gives you so many 5t weapons to play with. Fast access to the Soulreaper axe from Vardorvis, Bulwark, Scythe, and Fang. As well as full justi to support the door. You don't get piety, defenders or torva here, but it could be fun and varied.
Mage with
Fremmy, Tirawynn, Wilderness
you’d have no choice but to pray for the Revenant Mage Weapon or use Slayer Dart the entire league
If you do range, you can argue about Tyrannwn for BP in midgame, Bowfa, and the 4tick Dark Bow (with the spec relic this might be very fun?). Also I think Zeah Desert Morytania/Fremennik are very fun for melee. Either the inquis/justi scythe/door build (has it been tried yet?) with Morytania or the Gloves/Rings/Axe build with fremmy, they both have fun stuff, but you miss out on Asgarnia. The main issue I see with DZF is that your body/legs slots are kinda doomed if going melee, no? But you do get two raids and 3 dt2 bosses to have fun with
I think I'm going to go for a Ranged build in Fremennik + Asgarnia + Zeah. Those regions have what I consider to be the most enjoyable content for me, and they seem to synergise reasonably well too. Who knows, though - everything could change once we get the full list of relics and passive effects!

You forgot to mention Mages option of Ancient sceptre if they pick Fremmy but otherwise great video. Its such a minor thing to leave off though as you said, Kandarin and Desert are pretty much mandatory. All sceptre would do is aid you in getting a Shadow if you pick Fremmy as your first region. Otherwise you can add a Dt2 jewel to the sceptre to attempt to buff up the power pre-Shadow.
Fremmy could also have some potential use for Range if there is some cool use you can find with a 2-tick Venator bow in multi (If we get explosive attacks back)

Worst regions possible for the relics are these in my opinion;
Magic is Fremmenik, Asgarnia and Tirannwn
Melee is Tirannwn, Zeah and Wilderness
Range is Wilderness, Morytania and Zeah (this one is the hardest to justify for me, but my reasoning is that Zeah, while having incredible upgrades with dhcb, buckler and twisty b, you won’t have any reliable ranged weapon to get you there)
Rune crossbow and twisted buckler clears 🔥
Rune crossbow is going to be nearly bis from the get go, and you can get dcb from default regions.

By the way you said Accursed sceptre was the only mage special attack, you're forgetting volatile and eldrich nightmare staff
Melee, Tiranwyn, Kourend, Wilderness
You get almost no melee bis other than ferocious gloves and arguably blade of saeldor. You get a good spec weapon (claws/voidwaker) but these are essentially duplicated i.e. you waste a region getting another spec weap with very similar use case.
Your bis setup ends up being obsidian armour with blade of saeldor and you have bosses like zulrah, olm and zuk you literally and almost none of the raid rewards you can access are particularly useful to you.
I wanna see someone absolutely demolishing everything with a 2 tick elder maul in full inquisitor LMAO. That'd be so fun to watch
Unfortunately elder maul is 6tick so it only moves to 3 tick :(
Can you kill zulrah with a halberd? almost positive you can get one from the shop at tyrus camp and use it as a 2 tick because of its 5 tick attack speed.
unfortunately you cannot, even though it technically is close enough, zulrah cannot be attacked with melee

i did 560 CG last league for a bowfa, the fact that i can just go asgarnia instead is very nice
