Don't feel bad about not understanding it. There is something about not understanding what is being said that allows you to focus more intently on and thus more fully appreciate the audio aesthetic. :-)
Nevir202 I'm a fan of this idea. I like to think of languages as possessing a kind of musical quality that you can only appreciate if you don't understand them. When meaning is detached from the patterns of sounds, you can appreciate them like notes of an instrument without the extra mental processes that go into parsing and decoding linguistic communication.
Nevir202 It makes the learning of languages very slightly bittersweet in that regard - you unlock a whole new world of history and culture and nuances of meaning when you learn a new language, but once you know the code, you can't hear the music anymore, because you're hearing the meaning. :)

Korean is either an incredibly song like language, or just the way you speak is very sing-songy. It's really melodic and makes me happy listening to it. Lots of major intervals.
Made the mistake of trying to watch this with the Korean automatic captions on translated to English. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life XD. Got so many tingles though once I turned them off. Happy Birthday by the way.

Korean is either an incredibly song like language, or just the way you speak is very sing-songy. It's really melodic and makes me happy listening to it. Lots of major intervals.
Made the mistake of trying to watch this with the Korean automatic captions on translated to English. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life XD. Got so many tingles though once I turned them off.
