Thanks for the review, Chris. I am glad you brought out the J16. I love titanium pens. The first pen I bought with titanium is the Delta Extrema though the metal was used more for trim than the body. Zoom decades and then I got the ēnnso Italia with the Bock Titanium nib. And on it went. This pen looks glorious. I am surprised with the reflection of light on the finish. It seems to be a perfect size and the price is not outrageous The Iroshizuku blue is a very nice shade. What black ink do you have in the other pens? Maybe I will try a broad nib. Medium is about as wide as I usually get, though the fude nibs are wide and very smooth. But I digress. I will add this pen to get in 2025.
I like Jowo nibs a lot, especially their EF nibs, but the EF Asvine nib that came on my V126 is phenomenal and I can't imagine Jowo or any other nib manufacturer bettering it. Not wild about metal pens in general but I might make an exception for the J16 Titanium which is really eye candy. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
@@chrisrap52 My handwriting tends to be smaller rather than larger so I lean towards the finer nibs and a Japanese medium is really pushing it for me. With that said though I want to find one or more reasons to use broader nibs as they can sometimes show off an ink's properties more dramatically than the finer nibs do but to date I haven't found anything that would compel me to do that lol. I do enjoy watching others when they use broader nibs because as I said they can influence how the ink will appear on paper.
I would really have preferred an Asvine nib. I wonder why they've made this change, and I hope it's not a portent of the future. Thank you for this very nice review.
Thank you for this review! I have this pen with the brushed titanium finish like yours, but I chose the Jowo F nib. It is gloriously smooth and perfectly wet, a joy with my favorite, ultra-smooth non-waterproof ink, Sailor Black. The pen is certainly comfortable to hold and use, and the piston filling is also flawless. When I bought the J16, I had intended to replace the Jowo nib with a Fountain Pen Revolution Jowo-compatible #6 Extra-fine-Ultraflex nib unit, a favorite. But the F Jowo is such a silky delight, I’m holding off on that. This is one of those pens that fits my hand, balances, and works so well that I can write effortlessly for pages and pages, almost forgetting that it is a tool that I am holding. So I certainly agree with your assessment: this is a GREAT pen.
Thank you for the review and trusted chrisrap52 testing. Stopped by on FP Day after being off the ink wagon and realized how much i missed that 'escalator of life' theme; pulled the trigger on a B. "We want it all" and it's a Hazard 😅
Asvine with a Broad nib! Our prayers have been answered! 😀 I have a Broad nib from Wancher - JoWo, but colored in dark burgundy - which for some magic reason is perfect for ink testing. In less saturated inks - shows shading perfectly. Inks with sheen - shows it exactly as expected. Saturated dark inks - no hesitation to put them in full glory. Pure witchcraft.
THKS for this entertaining and informative review! Just when I thought about the similar hammered Majohn Ti 136 now along comes this gorgeous Ti pen!
Great pen, no need for a "hammered" one.
@@chrisrap52I hear ya! This is a very lovely pen. I think Majohn has a brushed finished Ti 136 but this is a better price.
Agreed, better buy for many reasons.

None of the other pens have black ink. Some are super saturated, look very dark on camera.
@chrisrap52 I think my color blindness is very big to me. Thanks.
The pen certainly looks good. Great review.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching. I also enjoy EF & F Asvine nibs. But a great B is so nice.

The pen is nice and the nib is nice, enjoying mine! Great review :)
Thanks for watching! You motivate me.

There are no B Asvine nibs. Many pen people prefer Jowo for their own reasons.

I am not a fan of FPR nibs. So many are much better.
@chrisrap42 : Interesting. What Jowo-compatible nib to you recommend for a smooth, flexy nib?
FPR nibs are not flexy. Vintage nibs are flexy. ruclips.net/video/ZcNe2nQlLD4/видео.html

Always "want it all!."

Yes. Put some serious ink down.
