I think she meant that it’s a “full workday” before shooting even occurs. If her call time was 2 PM and shooting started at like 9 or 10 PM that’s 7 or 8 hrs (full workday) prior to filming. And then filming sounds like it went until 5 AM, so that’s also 7 or 8 hrs (another full workday). She had about 9 hrs from the time she left filming and had to be back. I know some people are at work for 16 hrs a day but it’s not sustainable for most people
@@squidrattshe even said a lot of the hours she was sitting around doing nothing.. she also signed a contract that had all this criteria stated to her in full what filming it entailed 😭 she knew what she was getting herself into hence her already doing it before in S2
@@ssicatavv19-zp5fdnot only that but filming was only 1 week. one week of work you had to do this. if someone told me i had to come to work for 16 hours but half of that i would just have to sit around, the other half im getting my hair and makeup done and acting, not having to even memorize a script and by the end of the week they would pay me thousands id be perfectly happy with that.
i’m anorexic so i heavily empathise with gabbie and her struggles, but i have to agree with you. it’s MUCH easier both mentally and just logically for me to take care of my own food if i need something specific. of course joey would have to cater to his talent too, but i would absolutely bring my safe foods to be able to be absolutely sure i can eat.
yeah i have adhd so i get where shes coming from. i dont think she shouldve taken the job. she knew its not a good environment for her and i feel that shes taking it out on everyone and projecting by being demanding. its her responsibility to bring things to use tools and to plan ahead on what SHE needs to do instead it seems to me that she tried to make others do it for her. asking for help and accommodations is okay and at the same time i feel she shouldve looked at what she can do to maintain the proper state of mind and self beforehand. and then she can reassess as her environment changes in how her needs are met. i get that it can feel overwhelming in certain environments thats and that's why i think its important to reassess what you have control over. i think she was too focused on how others can make her the proper environment instead of asking herself what she herself has control over. also putting that much effort into trying to control something that you cannot directly control can be exhausting. i think she could've saved so much energy by finding things she personally can do and sometimes its out of your control. i think that couldve prevented alot of this frustration she has. and in her situation she has that freedom to leave if its too much for her. dbt skills for me are very useful tools and i think alot of ppl could benefit from them even if they dont have adhd
I feel like she could've gotten a stipend to cover her food and maybe a PA could've worked directly with her. Both ends of the argument could've done differently to make this situation better.
I have ARFID and i bring safety snacks with me to so many places. I dont like imposing on people when my food needs can be so specific and weird. Currently I'm on a rice and teriyaki kick, with peanuts, Cheerios, and blue jello as snacks. Id feel insane demanding those
I have ADHD and it really isn't an excuse, so long as the person knows to take accountability for their words and actions. If ADHD had no symptoms why would it even exist?

I have severe adhd (medicated) and I get along great with my coworkers and have held the same job for six years with no issues. The fact that she blamed all of her problems on it has always been disgusting to me.
I remember so vividly that Joey mentioned Coleen in his response and how easily she was to work with. And I remember thinking. "Wow. She seems like such a sweet and down to earth person." That came back to hunt me two years later😂😂😂

It’s crazy watching this knowing she left out so much of what actually happened. Like the fact that she never went to costume fittings and never filled out her food paperwork so those things are directly on her. Also half of this stuff is just what being on set is like.

ADHD can cause disordered eating from one end to another, ADHDers sometimes can’t help themselves but eat to replenish dopamine. I struggled with eating myself really badly.
Not the same thing, but I have sooooo many fatal food allergies. Whenever I'm at an event or party or school function, I don't ever demand someone to cater to my allergies. I plan ahead. I bring my own food. Or I eat before or after. Like fuck me man I didn't even eat at prom 💀 I ate a hotdog at 4pm and brought pretzels in my bag. I know it's not the same thing as an eating disorder, but i feel like when you have a food thing going on it's your responsibility and no one else's.
Vegetarian here and same. I cook for myself because I have so many weird specific food preferences with textures and stuff I would feel straight up guilty to demand someone to deal with me being a picky eater.
Same I have a fatal nut allergy and I just don’t eat baked goods at functions. Yes it’s a bummer but I’m not going to expect others to bake allergen safe food for me.

I always explain it like this to my parents and just people there can be an explanation but not an excuse I can explain why I do certain things cuz of my executive dysfunction but that doesn’t excuse or make the other persons feelings any less valid (if warranted ofc) the burnout or the motivation paralysis can be so debilitating but at the end of the day I have to know my boundaries I can’t blame all of the university or my lecturers if they have accommodated to my adhd and I still performed poorly like it is shit but it is what it is. I hate the notion or trend of neurodiverse or mental health issues being used to excuse shitty behaviour or treating other badly it just further adds to negative stigma for the rest of us

The food thing bugs me so much bc it was so unnecessary even with her ED: - cook & bring your own food from home - pay an assistant to cook your food & bring it from home - pick up food on the way to set (she clearly had a go-to order ready when Daniel asked) - have something delivered (I find it hard to believe that in LA she couldn't postmates something that would meet her food restrictions) Plus, the complaint they gave her unseasoned ground meat. Girl, with your restrictions I would be terrified to add salt & pepper out of fear you'd freak out.
Thank you so much for clarifying how outrageous it is for the food restriction thing. The point of requests is for allergies or conditions like lactose intolerance. You do not get expensive meals on set unless you are an A-list actor on a big budget set, which this was not. “Dietary needs” does not mean they’re going to make a fully curated meal going over $50 to prepare, and eating disorders do not excuse this. She was privileged enough to prepare her own meals if it was that specific, and instead she decided that her weight management was now the productions responsibility in a low budget RUclips film. She wanted to be treated like a queen while she treated others as trivial.
Fr I had very severe mental illness and was in hospitals from age 13-17 and took my anger out on staff constantly once I turned 17 I was like I don’t want this for myself and it’s not okay to treat people that way it’s your responsibility to take care of your mental health instead of treating others poorly

2019 Joey and Daniel wanted to help her with her declining career. That's why they engaged her - besides that she IS a good actress and artist. After this ETN-drama 2020 Joey did a react video about ETN, and mentioned her talent. She was their friend, especially Joey's. He cared about her and wanted to give her another chance. Work. They thought they could manage. Sadly, she was to much for them and for everybody else on the set.
it seems like gabbie has trouble with knowing where the line is between friendship and people just being polite to her. she said she assumed daniel and joey were here friends but they were her employer at the time. she had similar drama with trisha back in the day when she thought they were close friends and from trisha’s perspective gabbie was just another youtuber who she was friendly to but not somebody she considered a friend.
For sure. But they also kinda gaslighted her with reaching privately and ensuring her needs met (how ever crazy as a friend) after she officially denied the proposal to be on the show.
But they were her friends, especially since they came to her single launch party and Daniel literally decorated her house. If they hated her that bad, they wouldn't have done those things as well as inviting her to come back
As unmedicated ADHD person, I can say that I am an absolute bitch if I don’t have food. But that’s my problem, not anybody else’s! I always make sure I have snacks with me If I go anywhere, it is my responsibility to take care of myself, not others. This is so crazy to blame acting “bitchy” on ADHD 😂

honestly her blaming adhd for being a nightmare to work with, didn’t think it’d pisses me off that bad bc it can be considered a disability for some ppl, i don’t wanna diminish that. but she was just being RUDE & as someone w/ adhd whose a freaking math tutor i find that so insulting tbh. my adhd means it was more difficult for ME to get where i am, i dont make things harder for others. but i’m great at communicating, i’m smart, hard working, & even professional. i don’t want her to make ppl subconsciously think we are incapable of “real” jobs.
Okay but also adhd is often comorbid with autism, bipolar, and bpd. I think it’s highly likely that her adhd is the easiest thing for her to understand and explain, but she’s also being affected by another disorder. As an audhd person with bpd, I take accountability for my actions and have learned to keep my bad behavior locked away, but having to explain myself to a giant community like she had to…. Idk I just have some compassion for her that it seems like nearly no one else does.

Hiii, ive lived with an ED for a long time and have also worked in entertainment and/or done traveling where ive been given information regarding dietary requests. I actually dont think Gabbie was that far from doing the right thing initially. She told them she was uncomfy with the situation, they asked what she needed, she was honest. Now i think the specificity was extremely wild, but in my experience, if you put a name to what you need and just give them that and say "is that ok?" Usually everything is fine. Like instead of the whole long explanation she gave, if shed just said "i need to eat a high protein diet" everything most likely would have been fine. Alternatively, she needed to be honest with herself about how high maintenance her needs were, in which case she could have arranged with them getting specific food ahead of shooting. If she was more concise about her needs from the jump i dont think any of this would have happened.
Coming from a person who struggles with disordered eating (binge-restrict mostly), I understand asking for food you need specifically. Like Adam said, maybe just fruit or nuts or a premade salad, not something so in depth and extreme and demanding as what she said. That's over the line, and Daniel was very kind to agree to do that for her.
a little fun fact (that you may know): Apparently due to Gabbie's behavior on S4, another RUclipsr requested to be killed off in one of the challenges due to discomfort (aka the first kill of the season). ALSO- Tana had also planned to be killed off in a challenge bc she had an award show to attend... however... due to Gabbie's behavior on set, a collective decision was made to kill off her as well for a double kill with Tana.
Regardless of whether she is right or wrong in her actions or how she handled herself… she did in fact communicate her expectations and how not meeting those expectations would affect her mood and how she expressed herself. I can see how she is frustrated that everyone gave her the green light and ended up mad that she was exactly how she said she would be. 🤷🏼♀️ That doesn’t mean she’s a great person to be around, but she did her part and set the expectation and they accepted it.

Honestly i think the only thing Gabbie said (kind of) that i agree with is that both sides were wrong. Gabbie agreed to put herself into a situation where she knew she would be very easily triggered (most of it seems like it stemmed from not having her super strict diet met) and Joey&Daniel shouod have known better than to convince her to comeback after season 2, especially when she laid out such specific goalposts. Both sides set themselves up to lose. Gabbie just handled it very very poorly. All of her points don't justify her behavior in the slightest and Daniel should never have tried to even attempt to go to the lengths he did to satisfy her

I think that Colleen’s past actions aside. To have just had a baby and be comfortable on set shows how well Daniel and Joey treated everyone. Im pretty sure if the set life was so bad, so many people would have came out with their stories afterwards like Gaby did. But she’s the only one who had a problem because she’s awful to work with.
I remember thinking so highly of Colleen when Daniel Preda and/or Joey Graceffa (I don’t remember which one they’re the same person in my brain) posted his Gabbie takedown, so glad the turns have tabled
Daniel said in his video her costume didn't fit because she didn't show up to the fittings so they had to guess. (I think the person fitting Gabbie went to her music studio and stood her up) Also, the cast was given forms, so D&J knew what everyone wanted to eat, and she didn't fill it out until the first day. Had she filled out the forms, she would have had her food (or pack a lunch/door dashed what she wanted) small edit: Dan also said in his video that the director gave Gabbie time for her interviews and she said no, which is why her manager e-mailed her. Dan read texts from the producer/director and they said when it was her turn either she wasn't ready or was eating so she fell behind. When she said she was waiting, Dan said it is hurry up and wait in reality shows/acting so.... she was even in S2 it is not like she went into this brand-new
oh don't forget the person who went out of their way to meet gabbie, who gabbie stood up, was heavily pregnant too 😭 just an absolute disregard to anyones situation but her owns. it's fascinating to be so self obsessed but so aggressively below average in every way

Funny how Gabbie claimed ppl turned on her out of the blue. Her behavior on set is why they offed her character and why Dan and Joey didn't wanna be her friends anymore

I get what you mean about the ed stuff but also, for me in my eating disorder recovery, part of it being “on me” is asking for help when I need it. I imagine if I was on a set I wouldn’t have the time to do the things I normally do for myself and would need help. Which is super hard to ask for in the first place but sometimes asking others for help IS you doing it for yourself in a way too. I dunno if that makes sense and I do think she’s frustrating in this situation, I just think “it’s on you” tends to ignore the “asking for help” part which is also important!

Lowkey I don't think gabbie was that wrong (!wait!) in the specific aspect of breaking toxic film environments/ cruel producers. As much as I am NOT a fan of any of these people, I think the expectations of the system and how much people need to sacrifice basic comfort/needs to create art shouldn't be overlooked. They had the budget to make multiple seasons, every season should be an upgrade for the talent imo. @@moni-w9oif what she said is true for the fitting of the costume, they can't tell someone about it the day before and expect them to be free to go do it. Granted, both she and the people doing the fittings should have figured out a time that would work for both. All parties are definitely at fault for that. Dietary needs, Gabbie absolutely should have filled out the form and should have paid for her own personal assistant if she knew it was going to be that hard on her.
This drama is more about power than food. Gabbie strikes me as someone who makes demands to see how far she can go. I have celiac disease and intestinal disorders. It’s MY JOB and my job alone to feed myself. Is it awkward to bring my own food at family/friend gatherings? Yup. But it’s the only way to keep me healthy and safe as every time I consume gluten, it causes real, irreversible damage to my intestines that can lead to cancer and other diseases. It’s quite simple and easy to do and gives you piece of mind so you don’t attack everyone around you out of hunger.
as someone with bad adhd I need accommodations because it’s a legit disability but you have to be transparent about that and how you struggle with certain things. That isn’t an excuse to be an awful person.
My only defense to Gabby is Joey seemed to be agreeing with all of this weird food stuff so I'm really confused why he acted so surprised and shit talked her when she was sooo clear how anal she was about it. The food thing--gonna be real with you. I never thought Gabbie was wrong to *have* her needs, especially since she's had an eating disorder. If a very specific diet is the only way you feel you can safely eat, physically and mentally... girl, that's okay! Long as you're eating, right? But the problem here.... is that you have to take initiative to get those things, or to ensure that you *know* that someone has the responsibility to get it for you, ie a personal assistant like Adam mentioned or whatever, just not a producer because it isn't his job. Also haven't rewatched joey's response yet but I remember him showing she hadn't filled out the form for her diet on set which is why there wasn't already food for her needs. Right I wouldn't know if that could be disproven.
12:15 it sounds to me like maybe Gabby needed an accommodation maybe something like being in a separate room allowed to edit or do something to keep her ADHD mind going and they know where she’s at so if they need her, they can come get her but it also sounds like to me that Gabby did not request any accommodations so it’s coming off to them like she’s just horrible I would just like to add as I continue to watching. It seems like Gabby doesn’t know what she needs and what to request so they shouldn’t have asked for her back and she shouldn’t have come back. You’re absolutely right Adam. with the food stuff I think it would’ve been more appropriate if she brought her own assistant as far as the other stuff you can’t just randomly ask for big accommodations in the middle of filming the reason why you ask for accommodations right away is that everything can be taken care of for you and you don’t have to deal with it, another thing is that the way that she communicates is not super polite and everybody knows that when you’re asking for accommodations for any sort of disability or anything you wanna be polite because you don’t know that they will give them to you that is the way the world works I as an autistic person have come to realize that quite a bit in different scenarios
I'm a producer and I think he was wrong for asking her about what she needed, food wise, if he wasn't going to provide. It's super important to make it clear, from a production stand point, what you can and can't provide and avoid conflict like this. All he had to do was tell her that they weren't able to provide that level of customisation. More than 12 hours should not be normal on set and belittled, as part of the filmmaking set community, I do feel like long hours, should not be referred to as”that’s just the way it is”. More than 12 hours on set is overworking actors, grip, camera and everyone on set. The stuff about her wanting specific food is crazy though lol
I feel like Gabbie’s requests were ridiculous and she should have just brought her own food. With that said, Daniel and Joey are super catty and passive aggressive. They made her think she would be accommodated and then didn’t accommodate her. She only agreed because she thought her unreasonable demands would be met. If they had just be straight with her and said, “that’s not something we will be able to do.” All of this could’ve been avoided. It’s definitely not ONLY on Gabbie. Some people NEED to be told they are being unreasonable! Don’t just yesman them and then make fun of them behind their backs. So childish and unprofessional on Daniel and Joey’s part too.
To be fair, I am also a horrible monster when I’m hungry or uncomfortable because of the sensory issues associated with ADHD. I think she handled it poorly but I think that they messed up because she didn’t follow through with her requests that they agreed to agree to do it in the first place. And I don’t think explaining yourself and reason are the same as making excuses. She said she was terrible and handled it poorly, so I don’t think that’s an excuse. It sounds like they lied to get her there. It also sounds like poor planning and bad behavior on her part. Also, like you said they thought she was a nightmare then invited her back. Then capitalized on the fact that she acted exactly like they knew she would. ESH. Admitting one was an asshole doesn’t mean we need to defend the other.

Regarding the ED/food aspect, 100% agree with you. For me, I’m sober, so I’m always checking in w myself when socializing if I know or suspect alcohol will be involved. Sometimes, if it’s just hanging w a friend, I can suggest another place. Sometimes, if I feel alright, I’m cool going to a bar if we don’t sit right at the bar top. And sometimes I just don’t go out if I know I’m not in a good place with it. But 100% my responsibility to know what I can handle. If you know you’re in a vulnerable place w a trigger like that, and you know it will trigger or tempt you, then YOU have to know to remove yourself from the situation.

Honestly? She told them that she didn't want to do it and they said that they would do whatever she wanted so she would come back for season 4. Agreeing to get her the things she wanted and then not following through with it is awful on their part. I think she meant that it’s a “full workday” before shooting even occurs. If her call time was 2 PM and shooting started at like 9 or 10 PM that’s 7 or 8 hrs (full workday) prior to filming. And then filming sounds like it went until 5 AM, so that’s also 7 or 8 hrs (another full workday). She had about 9 hrs from the time she left filming and had to be back. I know some people are at work for 16 hrs a day but it’s not sustainable for most people

i’m anorexic so i heavily empathise with gabbie and her struggles, but i have to agree with you. it’s MUCH easier both mentally and just logically for me to take care of my own food if i need something specific. of course joey would have to cater to his talent too, but i would absolutely bring my safe foods to be able to be absolutely sure i can eat.
yeah i have adhd so i get where shes coming from. i dont think she shouldve taken the job. she knew its not a good environment for her and i feel that shes taking it out on everyone and projecting by being demanding. its her responsibility to bring things to use tools and to plan ahead on what SHE needs to do instead it seems to me that she tried to make others do it for her. asking for help and accommodations is okay and at the same time i feel she shouldve looked at what she can do to maintain the proper state of mind and self beforehand. and then she can reassess as her environment changes in how her needs are met. i get that it can feel overwhelming in certain environments thats and that's why i think its important to reassess what you have control over. i think she was too focused on how others can make her the proper environment instead of asking herself what she herself has control over. also putting that much effort into trying to control something that you cannot directly control can be exhausting. i think she could've saved so much energy by finding things she personally can do and sometimes its out of your control. i think that couldve prevented alot of this frustration she has. and in her situation she has that freedom to leave if its too much for her. dbt skills for me are very useful tools and i think alot of ppl could benefit from them even if they dont have adhd

I have severe adhd (medicated) and I get along great with my coworkers and have held the same job for six years with no issues. The fact that she blamed all of her problems on it has always been disgusting to me.
I remember so vividly that Joey mentioned Coleen in his response and how easily she was to work with. And I remember thinking. "Wow. She seems like such a sweet and down to earth person." That came back to hunt me two years later😂😂😂

ADHD can cause disordered eating from one end to another, ADHDers sometimes can’t help themselves but eat to replenish dopamine. I struggled with eating myself really badly.
Not the same thing, but I have sooooo many fatal food allergies. Whenever I'm at an event or party or school function, I don't ever demand someone to cater to my allergies. I plan ahead. I bring my own food. Or I eat before or after. Like fuck me man I didn't even eat at prom 💀 I ate a hotdog at 4pm and brought pretzels in my bag. I know it's not the same thing as an eating disorder, but i feel like when you have a food thing going on it's your responsibility and no one else's.
Vegetarian here and same. I cook for myself because I have so many weird specific food preferences with textures and stuff I would feel straight up guilty to demand someone to deal with me being a picky eater.

I always explain it like this to my parents and just people there can be an explanation but not an excuse I can explain why I do certain things cuz of my executive dysfunction but that doesn’t excuse or make the other persons feelings any less valid (if warranted ofc) the burnout or the motivation paralysis can be so debilitating but at the end of the day I have to know my boundaries I can’t blame all of the university or my lecturers if they have accommodated to my adhd and I still performed poorly like it is shit but it is what it is.
I hate the notion or trend of neurodiverse or mental health issues being used to excuse shitty behaviour or treating other badly it just further adds to negative stigma for the rest of us

The food thing bugs me so much bc it was so unnecessary even with her ED:
- cook & bring your own food from home
- pay an assistant to cook your food & bring it from home
- pick up food on the way to set (she clearly had a go-to order ready when Daniel asked)
- have something delivered (I find it hard to believe that in LA she couldn't postmates something that would meet her food restrictions)
Plus, the complaint they gave her unseasoned ground meat. Girl, with your restrictions I would be terrified to add salt & pepper out of fear you'd freak out.

Thank you so much for clarifying how outrageous it is for the food restriction thing. The point of requests is for allergies or conditions like lactose intolerance. You do not get expensive meals on set unless you are an A-list actor on a big budget set, which this was not. “Dietary needs” does not mean they’re going to make a fully curated meal going over $50 to prepare, and eating disorders do not excuse this. She was privileged enough to prepare her own meals if it was that specific, and instead she decided that her weight management was now the productions responsibility in a low budget RUclips film. She wanted to be treated like a queen while she treated others as trivial.

2019 Joey and Daniel wanted to help her with her declining career. That's why they engaged her - besides that she IS a good actress and artist. After this ETN-drama 2020 Joey did a react video about ETN, and mentioned her talent. She was their friend, especially Joey's. He cared about her and wanted to give her another chance. Work. They thought they could manage. Sadly, she was to much for them and for everybody else on the set.
it seems like gabbie has trouble with knowing where the line is between friendship and people just being polite to her. she said she assumed daniel and joey were here friends but they were her employer at the time. she had similar drama with trisha back in the day when she thought they were close friends and from trisha’s perspective gabbie was just another youtuber who she was friendly to but not somebody she considered a friend.

Okay but also adhd is often comorbid with autism, bipolar, and bpd. I think it’s highly likely that her adhd is the easiest thing for her to understand and explain, but she’s also being affected by another disorder. As an audhd person with bpd, I take accountability for my actions and have learned to keep my bad behavior locked away, but having to explain myself to a giant community like she had to…. Idk I just have some compassion for her that it seems like nearly no one else does.

Hiii, ive lived with an ED for a long time and have also worked in entertainment and/or done traveling where ive been given information regarding dietary requests. I actually dont think Gabbie was that far from doing the right thing initially. She told them she was uncomfy with the situation, they asked what she needed, she was honest. Now i think the specificity was extremely wild, but in my experience, if you put a name to what you need and just give them that and say "is that ok?" Usually everything is fine. Like instead of the whole long explanation she gave, if shed just said "i need to eat a high protein diet" everything most likely would have been fine. Alternatively, she needed to be honest with herself about how high maintenance her needs were, in which case she could have arranged with them getting specific food ahead of shooting. If she was more concise about her needs from the jump i dont think any of this would have happened.

Coming from a person who struggles with disordered eating (binge-restrict mostly), I understand asking for food you need specifically. Like Adam said, maybe just fruit or nuts or a premade salad, not something so in depth and extreme and demanding as what she said. That's over the line, and Daniel was very kind to agree to do that for her.
a little fun fact (that you may know): Apparently due to Gabbie's behavior on S4, another RUclipsr requested to be killed off in one of the challenges due to discomfort (aka the first kill of the season). ALSO- Tana had also planned to be killed off in a challenge bc she had an award show to attend... however... due to Gabbie's behavior on set, a collective decision was made to kill off her as well for a double kill with Tana.
Regardless of whether she is right or wrong in her actions or how she handled herself… she did in fact communicate her expectations and how not meeting those expectations would affect her mood and how she expressed herself. I can see how she is frustrated that everyone gave her the green light and ended up mad that she was exactly how she said she would be. 🤷🏼♀️
That doesn’t mean she’s a great person to be around, but she did her part and set the expectation and they accepted it.

Honestly i think the only thing Gabbie said (kind of) that i agree with is that both sides were wrong. Gabbie agreed to put herself into a situation where she knew she would be very easily triggered (most of it seems like it stemmed from not having her super strict diet met) and Joey&Daniel shouod have known better than to convince her to comeback after season 2, especially when she laid out such specific goalposts. Both sides set themselves up to lose. Gabbie just handled it very very poorly. All of her points don't justify her behavior in the slightest and Daniel should never have tried to even attempt to go to the lengths he did to satisfy her

I think that Colleen’s past actions aside. To have just had a baby and be comfortable on set shows how well Daniel and Joey treated everyone. Im pretty sure if the set life was so bad, so many people would have came out with their stories afterwards like Gaby did. But she’s the only one who had a problem because she’s awful to work with.

Daniel said in his video her costume didn't fit because she didn't show up to the fittings so they had to guess. (I think the person fitting Gabbie went to her music studio and stood her up) Also, the cast was given forms, so D&J knew what everyone wanted to eat, and she didn't fill it out until the first day. Had she filled out the forms, she would have had her food (or pack a lunch/door dashed what she wanted)
small edit: Dan also said in his video that the director gave Gabbie time for her interviews and she said no, which is why her manager e-mailed her. Dan read texts from the producer/director and they said when it was her turn either she wasn't ready or was eating so she fell behind. When she said she was waiting, Dan said it is hurry up and wait in reality shows/acting so.... she was even in S2 it is not like she went into this brand-new

I get what you mean about the ed stuff but also, for me in my eating disorder recovery, part of it being “on me” is asking for help when I need it. I imagine if I was on a set I wouldn’t have the time to do the things I normally do for myself and would need help. Which is super hard to ask for in the first place but sometimes asking others for help IS you doing it for yourself in a way too. I dunno if that makes sense and I do think she’s frustrating in this situation, I just think “it’s on you” tends to ignore the “asking for help” part which is also important!

As someone who has mental health issues and struggles with food, I’m also a grown ass woman that needs to figure out how I’m gonna eat 3 meals a day and work 40 hours a week to literally survive.

Lowkey I don't think gabbie was that wrong (!wait!) in the specific aspect of breaking toxic film environments/ cruel producers. As much as I am NOT a fan of any of these people, I think the expectations of the system and how much people need to sacrifice basic comfort/needs to create art shouldn't be overlooked. They had the budget to make multiple seasons, every season should be an upgrade for the talent imo. Like...did the other people enjoy it or did they just grin and bear it because they were more desperate for acting work and didn't want to be seen as "difficult." I know this is utube but...what if this WAS a women speaking out on a hollywood set. She made her boundaries clear and a part of her agreement and they ignored it. Lolol in no way did they lie to her. Her not meeting for costuming and not filling out her medical/dietary forms caused pretty much everything they “lied” about. Like I don’t like these people but in a business perspective they covered all their bases
@@moni-w9oif what she said is true for the fitting of the costume, they can't tell someone about it the day before and expect them to be free to go do it. Granted, both she and the people doing the fittings should have figured out a time that would work for both. All parties are definitely at fault for that. Dietary needs, Gabbie absolutely should have filled out the form and should have paid for her own personal assistant if she knew it was going to be that hard on her.

This drama is more about power than food. Gabbie strikes me as someone who makes demands to see how far she can go. I have celiac disease and intestinal disorders. It’s MY JOB and my job alone to feed myself. Is it awkward to bring my own food at family/friend gatherings? Yup. But it’s the only way to keep me healthy and safe as every time I consume gluten, it causes real, irreversible damage to my intestines that can lead to cancer and other diseases. It’s quite simple and easy to do and gives you piece of mind so you don’t attack everyone around you out of hunger.

@@Pozadje yes exactly. She could’ve meal prepped and gotten meals ready beforehand so they were ready to go when she was working on set. Just like the average working person does…we don’t expect our jobs to provide us with meals. We prepare them at home and bring them along.

The food thing--gonna be real with you. I never thought Gabbie was wrong to *have* her needs, especially since she's had an eating disorder. If a very specific diet is the only way you feel you can safely eat, physically and mentally... girl, that's okay! Long as you're eating, right? But the problem here.... is that you have to take initiative to get those things, or to ensure that you *know* that someone has the responsibility to get it for you, ie a personal assistant like Adam mentioned or whatever, just not a producer because it isn't his job. Also haven't rewatched joey's response yet but I remember him showing she hadn't filled out the form for her diet on set which is why there wasn't already food for her needs. Right I wouldn't know if that could be disproven.
12:15 it sounds to me like maybe Gabby needed an accommodation maybe something like being in a separate room allowed to edit or do something to keep her ADHD mind going and they know where she’s at so if they need her, they can come get her but it also sounds like to me that Gabby did not request any accommodations so it’s coming off to them like she’s just horrible I would just like to add as I continue to watching. It seems like Gabby doesn’t know what she needs and what to request so they shouldn’t have asked for her back and she shouldn’t have come back. You’re absolutely right Adam. with the food stuff I think it would’ve been more appropriate if she brought her own assistant as far as the other stuff you can’t just randomly ask for big accommodations in the middle of filming the reason why you ask for accommodations right away is that everything can be taken care of for you and you don’t have to deal with it, another thing is that the way that she communicates is not super polite and everybody knows that when you’re asking for accommodations for any sort of disability or anything you wanna be polite because you don’t know that they will give them to you that is the way the world works I as an autistic person have come to realize that quite a bit in different scenarios
She should have messaged that in full text or put that in her contract... excuses excuses
I'm a producer and I think he was wrong for asking her about what she needed, food wise, if he wasn't going to provide. It's super important to make it clear, from a production stand point, what you can and can't provide and avoid conflict like this. All he had to do was tell her that they weren't able to provide that level of customisation. And I work as an assistant of production as well and we absolutely are in charge of petty things like this.
The rest is on her tho lol.

I don’t care if you’re an actor or what… work is ultimately not responsible for your food… especially 3 full meals with very specific requests. They can provide some snacks but if you have specific needs you bring your own food !
More than 12 hours should not be normal on set and belittled, as part of the filmmaking set community, I do feel like long hours, should not be referred to as”that’s just the way it is”. More than 12 hours on set is overworking actors, grip, camera and everyone on set. The stuff about her wanting specific food is crazy though lol
I feel like Gabbie’s requests were ridiculous and she should have just brought her own food. With that said, Daniel and Joey are super catty and passive aggressive. They made her think she would be accommodated and then didn’t accommodate her. She only agreed because she thought her unreasonable demands would be met. If they had just be straight with her and said, “that’s not something we will be able to do.” All of this could’ve been avoided. It’s definitely not ONLY on Gabbie. Some people NEED to be told they are being unreasonable! Don’t just yesman them and then make fun of them behind their backs. So childish and unprofessional on Daniel and Joey’s part too.

Regarding the ED/food aspect, 100% agree with you. For me, I’m sober, so I’m always checking in w myself when socializing if I know or suspect alcohol will be involved. Sometimes, if it’s just hanging w a friend, I can suggest another place. Sometimes, if I feel alright, I’m cool going to a bar if we don’t sit right at the bar top. And sometimes I just don’t go out if I know I’m not in a good place with it. But 100% my responsibility to know what I can handle. If you know you’re in a vulnerable place w a trigger like that, and you know it will trigger or tempt you, then YOU have to know to remove yourself from the situation.

Agreeing to get her the things she wanted and then not following through with it is awful on their part. She only agreed because she would be able to have her needs met so it wasn't as awful of an experience as last time. I feel like getting upset that they failed to accommodate her is completely valid.
