im so sorry your having so much trouble with a install of the new itbs from panic I was actually seeing another video where a gentle man did the install and never even mentioned any problems with lining them up , could it be possible you over looked something ???😇
No, nothing was overlooked. I am not the only one to have experienced these problems. There are a number of possibilities for this that I won't speculate on. Be aware that It's possible the video you watched was a paid promotion and you didn't know... Though you are required to announce paid promotions by RUclips. Not everyone always does...
You mentioned these losing their balance and you're focusing on them being perfectly parallel - but I didn't see you balancing them in this video? To be fair, I didn't watch every second of it so I mightve missed that. I eyeballed mine when I put them on, balanced them, and fiddled with the engine quite a bit and they're still balanced perfectly. I have a somewhat sticky throttle cable that was causing me issues and I'd have to blip the throttle a bit to get everything back to it's perfect resting position. Sort of like some old side draft carb setups. Thats about the only thing I've come across causing balancing issues.
I was told by Panic to focus on getting them perfectly parallel. Every time I asked them about a problem they said that it must be because they aren't parallel. I also thought it was potentially a cable issue and addressed that either in this video or another one. Spoiler alert, did it even without the throttle cable connected. I also mentioned in this video that it was possibly because of the way the PCV was connected. Spoiler alert. It wasn't. The grub screw and locking nut for setting them up is just janky. There, I said it. Another part of the problem was the fact that when the car was off, if you set up the TPS in the software (100% throttle and then 0%). When you start the car it will be on 0.5 to 0.9% thus affecting the values and the fuel table. I asked online and a lot of people said it wouldn't make a difference but for me it did. After revving the car, the TPS would return to a different position and therefore give it different value in the fuel table. The solution for this was to set 100% while the car was off then set 0% while the car was running. I have since given the car to a tuner and forgot to tell them about the issue so it will be interesting to see what solution they come up with. (Some people suggested it was an earthing issue. Wasn't. But I can't imagine why it should be, being that the ECU is plug and play. But I digress) In closing, yeah if you're willing to accept the fact that they just aren't perfect then yea you'll be fine. It runs. It makes more power than 20 valve throttles. What more do you want? You're good. Everyone I spoke to said they just eyeballed it . Like, you're ignoring a sticky throttle cable and don't care about it. Cool okay. And you just eyeballed them putting them on.. okay cool. Did you use a torque wrench while putting them on? Probably not... And why would you? Panic don't even supply torque settings.. This impreciseness is just accepted by 100% of people that I spoke to. I'm the one guy that cares about the small details.
@garagekei Did you balance the ITBs by checking the flow rate of them to see if they match? I'm not worried about TPS not returning to perfect 0% every time, the throttles being perfectly parallel, etc if the flow is even between all 4 them - that's what matters. I thought about adding a stronger throttle return spring to overcome the sticking throttle cable situation, that'd sort it out. But i can get mine to return to 0% TPS and idle perfectly at 750rpm by blipping the throttle and letting them snap shut.
Did you watch the whole video yet? As I said, Panic were the ones that were insisting that they must be perfectly parallel and when I did get them straight it did make a difference. I got them to balance using the flow gauge. But they wouldn't stay that way. It's like I said, you're perfectly happy to blip the throttle to get it to work correctly and make excuses for them not being precise. I'm not...
If they were cheap I might have scrapped them. Too much money to just throw away. They offered me a refund but I was still trying to make the deadline to drift with Ryan and I already sold the 20v throttles to fund this adventure.
They should be drilled for locating dowels between each TB and the flange to the head OR have a bracket that holds the TBs in alignment to each other honestly, requiring them to be so perfect in rotational alignment with no method of positive location to actually get that alignment is a pretty poor design decision IMO.
Когда я сталкивался с подобными проблемами российских производителей, я то думал, вот у американских дорогущих решений таких проблем же не бывает! А оказывается, что американское за тысячи долларов, что российское за сотню, все равно без напильника не обойтись...
I'd pay top dollar just to have a bobblehead doll of you swearing in rage mode, on my dash.
Hahahahaha
Agreed!
Today, on "David swears at an altezza":
its more on the piss than Australia day and everyone gets a sloppy bolthole
This channel would probably be more successful if I spoke like that.

Now the name panic makes more sense for this ITB kit
I did a lot of panicking
I love how the music fades up to metal. 😂
I want to get better at utilising music in my videos...

hello, it is possible to add the panic instructions pdf to your website ? thank from France, ur work will be very helpful the day i will own a altezza
Hi, yes, I have done it. Check www.garagekei.com/manuals
Thanks for watching!
Honestly you’ve got more patience than me. I’d have put a mallet through the whole thing.

@@GarageKei best of luck getting it up and running in time.
Has Previous Leon ever meet Future Leon?
There was no future Leon.
Previous Leon was from an episode of Rick and Morty called "The Full Meta Jackrick"
Good episode. Check it out.

I agree. 100%
You know they're a good product due to everything needing to be within 4 microns of tolerance to work properly.
What other mods are done to the engine sir?
Inside? Just toda stage 1 cams.
I have videos of everything on my channel. Check it out.
would you say installing this caused panic?
I was panicking before they even arrived because I couldn't find out anywhere how big the vacuum barbs are... 6mm for those playing at home.
10:11 Genius idea that.
It really was. I wish I filmed it.
No idea how you boogered this so hard. Mine went on in like two tries? I wonder if maybe you accidentally swapped 2 and 3 or something.
🤣 🤣 🤣
They went on just fine. It was getting them lined up and straight that was the problem.
