If Yapp had played his experience (90 caps) would have been very valuable after goals were conceded early in the first and second halves. He would have been able to tell his much less experienced team-mates to stay calm and focus on implementing the coach's vision. Unless injury has intervened, a decision to drop your captain and no. 1 goalkeeper in a decider in a major international tournament is probably unheard of. The decision does not reflect well on the coach, IMO.
