The song was originally written by John Marc McMillan and he has allowed the different bands to cover his song. It was McMillan who wrote the words "sloppy wet kiss" (which Kim Walker also sings), but Crowder asked McMillan if he could change it to "unforseen kiss", which McMillan agreed to. I don't like "sloppy wet kiss" and Crowder is an amazing poet and writer, and I think "unforseen kiss" says much more and is more melodic.
