Do you remove the cork and lead line each year for storage? Or should it only be replaced every few years?

Replaced every few years, always keep your net covered from the sun otherwise it can become bleached color an wear down the web

The so called "double knot" is a clove hitch
Clove hitches are NOT recommended
A much better knot is the ground line hitch
It takes just as much time to make, and it is much tighter and more secure
