I love how when you put the evolution of Lilac's designs side by side, you can see the progression from Sonic oc to her own proper character. The very first Lilac was a Sonic oc in its purest form. Speedy hedgehog girl with similar moves to Sonic, with an added dash of martial arts. Just throw a bootleg super form in there and she'd be complete. Then there's the first game's design. Making her a dragon instead of a hedgehog was a good choice, even if she doesn't look much like a dragon. Still, even with the improvements, you could still tell Lilac was a Sonic oc. But Freedom Planet 2's design completes the transition from fan character to her own character. Lilac's current design is so different from the previous two, she's almost like a whole other being altogether, but in a good way. It's like they finally managed to cut out those last bits of sonic, leaving in the qualities that help Lilac stand out.
I'm very happy that you liked it friend, worse than in 2 they changed a lot, for me the one that changed the most was Carol and Milla, I loved their new design in 2, I thought it was cooler

No friend, she's a character that was inspired by Sonic, at first she was kind of like the purple Sonic with two hairs, then they made her like a dragon so there's no controversy with copyright
