    Hey friends, I hope you enjoyed this more vulnerable video! I just wanted share something more than just a haul or thrift with me and have a more heart to heart conversation with you. ♥♥♥ I hope this gives you a better look into my life and hopefully it'll help some of you who also struggle with some sort of health problem or an on going issue in your life.

      Hi Rebekah, your videos on reselling are a blessing to me, thank you for uploading them. Also thank you for talking about your health. There are so many sickness out there, sometimes our doctors don't know how to take care of them. When the doctors are limited, there is still Hope. I don't know if you're a Christian ? But there is hope in the Lord Jesus is the Healer. Here some healing scriptures in the Bible you can read and declare them upon yourself . Joel 2:32 and 1 Peter 2:24. Thank you for opening up and God bless you 🙏

      Hi I'm so glad that you disclose this and I'm wondering if you would try vitamin B1 and nutritional yeast because with the autonomic nervous system, pots most patients are deficient in these two items. It's worthwhile trying. I am a nurse and I have been studying and following nutritional eating for an eye condition. And one of the things that I found very interesting is the pots diagnosis. I think if you give it two or three weeks it's worth a shot to feel better. Keep us posted, you might also consider looking at some of the RUclips videos by Dr Berg. He is a wealth of information. Good luck and we'll get you feeling better

      Becca, I forgot to add that you should look up. Beri, Beri. Take a look at the symptoms and they're tied to vitamin B1 deficiency which so many people have vitamin B1 is also known as thiamine. Good luck keep us posted. The long story short, we all have something and in this form we should be able to help you out

    I am 28 and got diagnosed with POTS/dysautomia 3 years ago. I had to leave my corporate job and spend a year In bed. I watched a lot of youtube to pass the time and somehow discovered reselling. At first I was only flipping things I could purchase online since I couldn't drive/stand at the thrift. Now I am able to drive to thrifts on my good days and am so grateful for the days that my body allows me to go to the bins. Struggling through an invisible illness really makes all tthe small wins that much better. I am so thankful to have found reselling so I can continue to support myself on my own schedule/terms. What a blessing!
    Thanks for sharing your story! I always wondered how many other POTsies were out there with me.

    I completely understand. I have epilepsy, migraines and very anemic. Epilepsy affects my quality of life because even tho I haven't had seizures in a long time I can't drive so uber and Lyft take a huge chunk of my paycheck, no fun when your hours get cut but they still want you to work 5 days a week. Because of migraines I call out A LOT. After work and the day after I'm exhausted so there is very little energy for reselling. I want to take it full time so I don't have to constantly worry about losing my job because I have to call out or being late because there aren't any uber/lyft rides available. I'm tired of working for people especially because my health isn't the best. It would be great to be able to earn enough from reselling so when I'm not feeling well I can take that day off and not worry about job security and income. I'll get there

    Since you asked... I know you already kind of know all of this but I have had to change my eating habits a lot do to my health. I have Gerd, Barets, Nash Syndrome, off and on Anemia (as of right now it's under control and I do not need iron pills but I have been known to have to go back to them after a bit so...), and things related to my ADHD. I also learned recently that a lot of these gut health issues are really common in the Autism community and as some may not know in your community I have Aspergers syndrome which is an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder (I HATE the word disorder)). I also deal with sleep apnea which I am getting help for. I know a lot of these problems are caused by my weight and I can reverse them by getting my weight down so I have been actively working on changing what I am eating as well as how much I am eating. The other ones I sadly won't be able to reverse them because the damage is already done and even with losing the weight they will not be reversed or changed. I am so proud of you Cuzzy for talking about this all. I know I am late to watching this video, but I had it on my list for awhile and I am so happy I got to see it. I love you so very much. You already know this because I am pretty sure I have already told you all of this but you are my role model and one of my best friends. Can't wait to see you in a couple of days. Thank you for sharing and you are awesome and not just because I am your cousin and I say so.

    Thank you so much for sharing, and opening up about your Invisible Illness. I have a history of cancer (7 years remission this March), Lyme Disease (remission for almost 2 years), on top of other health issues that have come up from side effects from the cancer treatments. Having held a few jobs since then, wanting to start reselling (again, having "failed" the first time) and do it full time, seems possible but daunting at the same time. Hearing your story, and others who have also struggled with something similar gives me more encouragement and hope that I CAN do it!
    Currently, I am seeing a WONDERFUL doctor who has helped me through so much (hypothyroidism, stomach issues/IBS-like, concussion, Lyme, and POTS - which was found to do with something with my heart health, and naturally low bp) and I couldn't be anything but grateful! There is hope for those who are going through health issues (no matter how major or minor).
    Again, thank you for sharing your story, and the journey you have gone through to get to today. We only see what people choose to show on YT/Social Media, and it isn't always greener on the other side. You never know the person's full story, only what they choose to share!

    This is the mother in me...do you have a medical alert bracelet or necklace that states your illness? That way people will know how to deal with you if you have an incident at the bins or elsewhere. Maybe name the illness and tell them to call 911 to find out how to treat you. I have a 36 yo son who has had type 1 diabetes since he was seven. These illnesses aren't walks in the park. I wish you all the best.

    Wow, thank you so much for making this video and sharing about your health. It is hard to talk and share about chronic illness especially online where I feel like people mostly just see the best version of you. Reselling is a great job for those with chronic illness! I love that I can take care of myself when I have a flare up and pivot my day to accommodate my health. I have hypothyroidism, scoliosis, and flare ups of my IBS occasionally. All my health conditions flared up post c*vid and I have felt sooo sick I had to really ease back for a while to slowly recover. I was never able to fully take care of myself in past jobs- I could take one or two days off then would just have to suffer though the work day then go home and crash to just wake up and do it all over again. I do not miss that one bit! Ugh Beka, I hope you feel better soon and you’re able to better manage your symptoms again like before. Thanks for being so real and sharing your journey!

    Bless your ❤️! Thank you for sharing. I had a bad car accident that put me in the hospital for a month when I was 18. Thank goodness I was young enough that my body was able to heal. Not saying that I don't have permanent damage but it could have been worse. As I have aged since I was 18 my back has lots of issues and now my spine is a C curve from my injuries. And the weight my goodness I put on a lot of weight. I am a really anxious person and yes I'm medicated but I just start eating. The bad part is I don't even realize I do it. I always feel like I break one habit and start another. I really love reselling I'm just trying to find a niche I like to do. I'm trying clothes but I'm not very good with wording but I love selling makeup or general merchandise so I may lean towards that. I still love your content and maybe one day start a you tube channel.

At first my fibromyalgia was not bad but when I had my fourth kid my fibromyalgia got so much worse plus I developed high blood pressure as well and I have allergies to pretty much everything outside to the point where I had to move from Florida to Wisconsin to Indiana. My allergies caused me to have sinus infections plus migraines all the once I become nineteen years old . I also am visually and hearing impairment too plus I have IBS-C . Hey Rebekah! I'm so grateful for all your videos, but most especially this one!!! I've heard of POTS! Hats off to you and everyone else who has it and has navigated through this world with such a huge obstacle! I think all the people I know with POTS have dogs who are trained to sense when an episode is coming on and actually warns them to make sure their companion is lying down. Do you always have a giant water bottle with you? I heard you get super dehydrated before or after an episode.
    I feel like we've lived VERY similar lives, although I don't have POTS. I've been sick my whole life as well and have multiple diseases, syndromes, including autoimmune ones. Like yours, my conditions are invisible...until of course an episode happens. Haha. Some of mine are fibromyalgia, chronic vertigo, Graves Disease and diverticulitis. I started reselling because it seemed like the perfect job for me. Something I could do at my own pace, set my own goals, and also just literally start with whatever I already have at home! Also, reselling, especially on Poshmark, is just so nice because of the incredibly supportive community. The total opposite from my previous life in the corporate world...which of course made all my conditions way worse!

  • @gailsch
    @gailsch 2 года назад +1

    Thank you for sharing. I also have POTS, and there is so much of what you said that I want to comment on but this would be very long, so I chose one thing. I started watching youtubers when I was stuck at home all day by myself, because I couldn't move much or go places. And I found a few youtubers, basically in the fashion genre who had nice calming voices, calming presences and probably a sincerity that shined through. It was sort of like I had someone with me talking to me about mindless things like clothes, that didn't require me to respond back, entertain or fully pay attention to. Because I couldn't do any of those things at that time. I also don't want people around me when I am feeling horrible, I want to do what I need to to feel comfortable without observation and feeling the need to explain. Let me rest, but I still want to hear people. And this is why I started watching your channel, I get that feeling of calm, sincerity and engaged without draining me. So Also, thank you for this.
    And never feel like it is something taboo, or any other reason to hide. For so many people, they had no context to understand. They knew having a cold and mainly older people who had cancer. And not understanding factors into making it uncomfortable for them. While acting like asking "How are you?" is small talk. I first picked up on it making people uncomfortable when my response was not positive and then noticed the negative effect making people comfortable with my responses was having on me. So I put my comfort first and think people need to not ask a question they can't handle the answer to. Also, Long Covid has finally given some context.

      @RebekahAllison  2 года назад +1

      Wow. That is such a powerful story, Gail. I’m glad you were able to find comfort while being sick in bed. And my heart goes out to you.

Because of the pain it has caused me to have Fibromyalgia and I have chronic costochondritis . I had to leave a job to resell, which I knew I had to since I was on FBLA and my condition doesn't go away. I sometimes feel because people can't physically see my condition and I'm in pain 24 hours they like to think it must be nice not to wake up early for work. But I have numerous specialist and I'm usually bed ridden . It has been very challenging for me to resell especially because I go live on fb . This is actually inspiring for me 💞

    Thanks so much for this heart to heart, Rebekah! You're so strong and positive, I really appreciate you. I sometimes have arthritis pain in my right shoulder so sourcing at the bins and moving mountains of clothes can aggravate it. BUT i do think reselling is actually good for us because it is physical and we don't only sit at our desks all day. I find the best way to help my arthritis is to cut down on my carbs and sugar because that causes inflammation in me. Thanks for sharing, and hoping you continue to feel better! ❤

    thank you so much for sharing your story and history of your autonomic issues , it encouraged me too. i was wondering how you source the clothing in order to do the reselling biz? i would like to do more of reselling but moving around to go to thrift stores and do the travelling for it is going to be hard so i was wondering how you manage to do it , unless you do source your clothing online. let me know when you have a moment.

    My daughter has pots she’s 14. It’s been a struggle even though she doesn’t faint often. She wants to go to the bins with me, but I get nervous for her. How do you survive going?

    • @RebekahAllison
      @RebekahAllison  2 года назад +3

      Awww, I feel for her! That’s a great question! I bring my water bottle with me, and I always have salty snacks on me. So I like to chug water before going in (raises my blood pressure and increases blood volume) and then every few hours I’ll eat something salty to help raise my blood pressure too. If she can feel her symptoms coming on, then I would say that she should be able to go! But if she isn’t super aware yet, then maybe have her sit in the car for a rest after a bit of time digging. ❤️

I still believe he is cute, helpful and helps to stay you calm, with him you are never alone. You are such a brave, nice and friendly person, what a pity you have to go through! Oh my word, you are so sweet! No, Otis isn’t a service dog, but I definitely have thought about getting him training to become one.
