Alec, I love your videos on wood carving... you have exceptional skill, and watching you make your carvings is a treat. You are among the finest wood Carvers I have come across on youtube.
My personal favorite woodcarver is the legendary Nancy Tuttle . I love her wild caricatures...
I have a favor to ask you....
I would appreciate some advice on buying Cottonwood bark, and the sources you use...
I have bought some Cottonwood bark occasionally from ebay, but it is a very disappointing quality. Unlike the surface of the bark in your carving videos, which is a lightish to medium Gray, the stuff I get is a dark brown surface on the bark .... It is not much fun trying to carve on that material.
Please point me to some of the suppliers you use so I can get some good bark? (I am looking for smaller pieces compared to the large hunks you usually carve on)..
