I've been watching GemsOnVHS for a very long time now, it has been a major influence to my current favourite artists, and prior to leaving Australia I didn't know music like this existed in Australia until I heard Brodie Buttons and Kyle Brew slam on this channel! Very glad to know and massive love
I like how Kyle doesn't put any unnecessary flourishes when he sings, giving the words space to breathe. Great singing and playing, great honest writing too.
Kyle is a fuckin gem. Truly. His music touches my soul in a way I cannot explain, I truly needed his music right now and didn't even now it. Been listening to this album nonstop.
I used to work on the guest ranch that the Marlboro company had in Montana. I met the Marlboro men a couple of times. One of them even was missing part of his finger like me working cows.
Love Kyle Brew. Listened to all his stuff non-stop after you put out Gods plan, in fact that was one of my top spotify songs in this years wrapped. Hope he gets to tour in the US soon, would love to see him live in New York. Keep on keeping on Anthony!
What does Anthony say at 4:40 right after Kyle talks about fixing his headlight? Listened to this video dozens of times now and I can't help but hear Anthony say under his breath "Ya, you fuck." Lol idk their relationship so he could just be joking around with him but it always makes me laugh.
Come to Tennessee I'll sing you some songs from a real one armed harmonica playing man. I call my album "songs about addiction live from Baton Rouge parish prison"
Just different! He has another version on RUclips too, and on Spotify it's different. Kyle is a great producer, he does all the recording at home himself and has some really creative great tracks. I really like his latest one too old to dream. But yeah, y'all know I'm a field recording genre fan lol
@VHS Thanks for the reply. Too Old to Dream is a Nick Shoulders song is it not? I'm a record collector interested in the roots of american music . As such I listen to a ton of recordings from a time before multitracking and isolation booths. As a result over time I've developed a strong bias toward the sound captured by a single microphone set in a room with the performer(s) BTW-I dig yer banjo cover of Cigarette Machine You'd probably like Dave Stamey's live stuff. Do you have any interest in Canadian fiddle music? A la prochain foi mon frere.

That, my friends, is the quintessential kitchen of Australia and no theres no better place to stumm a banger of a song. Well done 👏
I thought the same thing. I knew this was Australia just by the kitchen in the thumbnail!
Lol I love that. Kitchens are so personal to their countries.
I used to work on the guest ranch that the Marlboro company had in Montana. I met the Marlboro men a couple of times. One of them even was missing part of his finger like me working cows.
If I could live again I'd be Rey Mysterio, but I still appreciate the sentiment

Amazing song and artist. The kitchen is screaming Brunswick Melbourne 😂❤️

great song!! It's too bad the record doesn't sound like this field recording.
