And a rare look at the early version of the "flying lariat". It wasn't long before he pefected it and it became a devastating looking move and probably my favorite finishing move of all time. Looked a little loopy and akward in this early form though. The transformation of Barry Windham over the full course of his career has to be one of the more fascinating (and not well covered) stories of professional wrestling.
This is the greenest I've ever seen Barry look in the ring and the only time I've ever seen him not look smooth and fluid. He could not have been any older than 20 when this match took place.

We will never see matches like this again.
Oh, yes CWF back in the day. What great memories.
I watched this as a kid back in the day. Yea, Barry was green but he sure got better with each passing year. And, he filled out as well.
Barry might have been green then he was and still is one of the best wrestlers that ever stepped in the ring
The immortal words of Gordon Solie...... Windham's face is a total crimson mask.

Boy, did the referee telegraph his bump to the floor.
Gordon heard the bell, but it was Gordon ringing the bell!

The real Hangman. Not some poser like Adam page.
