I admit that the way the Crystal Flash works is hella convoluted, but it's easy once you actually know how to do it.
1) You need to have 50 Energy or less with no reserves left.
2) You need at least 10 Missiles, 10 Super Missiles and 11 Power Bombs.
3) Highlight the Power Bombs, then hold L and R
4) Double tap down to enter the Morph Ball, and hold the second down press.
5) With L, R and down still held, mash the Y button.
You will drop a Power Bomb, then the explosion envelops you, somehow refilling your energy completely (including Reserves) at the cost of 10 Missiles, 10 Super Missiles and 10 Power Bombs (plus the one Power Bomb you dropped to begin with).

Haven't finished watching the video, but just in case, here's some pointers on how to gate glitch.
Requirements:
1. Super Missiles
2. A blue or green gate that "faces left," that is, the blue / green button you have to hit must be on the left hand side.
Walk up all the way to the gate, then walk away about 4-6 pixels. Turn around and face the gate. Aim diagonally upwards. Jump straight up and immediately towards the gate. If you do this at the same time, you will spin jump, and it won't work. At the height of the jump, around the same frame the you hit the ceiling and the gate, fire the super missile. If done correctly, the super missile's hitbox will hit on the other side of the gate and unlock the gate.
Reason why this works: Samus facing left shoots the missile further into the gate than doing so to the right. Jumping and firing jams the hitbox as close as possible into the gate. The _momentum_ of the jump further moves it ahead about 1-2 pixels and into the gate switch.

I think DB’s definitely improved a lot in his skills and know-how already after just recently taking up the Super Metroid randomizer. I can’t wait to see how his skills will progress! When he graduates from the beginner friendly settings, it’ll be joever for the map rando 😤
