I’ve had my 2017 si for 2 months. Currently has 30k miles on it. The exhaust note is quite in the cabin but does have nice noise on the outside. It also does subtle crackles and pops in first gear and it reverse. I do hear drone from the cabin when going 75 mph on 6 gear. Car is completely stock.
I will say I did deleted the mufflers on my 2019 sedan and it's okay. There are inconsistencies in the volume during certain RPMs. Some spots on the rev range are dead quiet and some are very drone-heavy. It is nearly dead-quiet at cruising speeds (interstate) which is nice, but it's impossible to accelerate quietly or loudly. The volume isn't tied to engine load. What I mean when I say this is that many vehicles are louder when you're flooring it vs gently accelerating. This car does not at all vary. Also at very low RPM (think, off idle) it's really loud so you may need to actually downshift to keep the RPM above the drone threshold. All of this makes it annoyingly loud when you're trying to be quiet and disappointingly quiet when you're trying to be loud. I am 50/50 regarding whether or not I should've done this. I also got ripped off at 250 dollars to remove the mufflers. For twice that I could've gotten an actual exhaust which would've killed the stupid HDMI tip and arguably sounded better. Finally, this guy talked about all the specifics he did to "tune" the exhaust. My car sounds exactly the same and all I did was chop off the mufflers. However, this guy says his is droney at highway speeds. Mine does not. Just delete the mufflers. Leave the resonator. It's probably the best bet next to actually buying an exhaust.
🙏🏻🚘🚙🙏🏻Sounds really good!!! I just sold al my 17 Si and I liked it a lot!! Great performance , fun to drive and all around awesome car!! I just bought a 19 Type R and it’s been fun as well!! I am a big Honda fan and I love watching videos of people like you who are passionate about cars!! I am a new subscriber and I look forward to seeing more of your videos!! Keep up the great work and God bless!! 🙏🏻🚘🚙
Great vid man. Very good explanation on what affect exaust sound. I mighty do this on mine. My brother did a muffler delete on his Q50 but its a bit too much for my taste. This sounds better, but i would like to hear it in person. Thanks again.
Cool video bro I’m new to your channel I just bought a 2019 Civic Si (07/2019) Black on Black I wanna do something like this but I’m worried because I also live in Southern California and let me tell you that the cops are cracking down on this new law so I’m gonna be doing some research before I decide on what to do👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌️
Frankie M. Good question man, I live in NorCal and cops here suck too, however with that being said this isn’t crazy loud. And the funny thing it the more the turbo spoils the quieter it gets... so the faster you go the quieter it is.
So what will you do when its time to turn the car in after your lease? Put everything back the way It was ? Will that be expensive? I love the quad tip btw
When you do a muffler delete and put the stock one back on the car when selling the car one day, will most people able to discover that the muffler had been modified or the pipe had been cut before and this can depreciate the resale value?
Most people dont check for that stuff and if youre trading it in they wont notice it as well when they do so the walk around for the appraisal. Will only be noticed during inspection to be put on the lot for sale and even then if the stock muffler was put back on correctly with nice welds then wont matter plus you already traded it into them so its not your car anymore its theirs nothing they can do at that point
Advice needed please! Been looking at doing a muffler delete. I watched your video, thank you for the info. So you went ahead with the muffler deletes and got these tips. I saw you said you got them from amazon, I can’t find them. Can you please share the link? Really hoping for a response. Thank you, Jay
K03sport wow what an excellent question, I would say the stock resonator is about 10 pounds and the stock mufflers with tip is about 50 pounds. So maybe like 55 pounds off the car total.. Great way to think !
So I could do this on my Si even though I lease it and just put back on the factory parts when I return it? How much would it cost to put the factory parts back on?
What type of exhaust tips are they? You said you got them from amazon/eBay? Lmk I got my stock exhaust tip but mufflers deleted and sounds great just want that different look before I end up doing DP/FP
Hey brother I just came across your video about leasing and then I started watching this exhaust video. Did you have to replace the orignal exhaust back on your Civic before turning it back in? " I'm sure this is a stupid as question but I honestly don't know how that works as I just leased my SI and want to throw some exhaust and other things... Thanks for your info!
fullachit correct, depends on your state. Here in California you don’t have to inspect new cars for the first 6 years they are on the road, this Will be turned in by then

facts the burbles in reverse surprised me tbh
@@CoolGuynumbawan I hear burbles at around 1200 or so rpms when you let off

Can you do this with a lease? Also could you explain if you had it cut from the resonator back or just the mufflers and where you got the new tips?
Also, so leaving the resonator in would make it slighlty more quite?
Joe G not slightly but a lot. The res does a lot in this car far as keeping it quite, I have both off and it’s perfect
