He's more like an obnoxious kid who thinks that judging women is cool. I also get the sense his views are a reflection of his mother's own internalized misogyny which he has simply never challenged because he trusts his mother unconditionally. I think we also tend to forget how young he is. Remember that 6th young lord was not even 20 when the show started, and that 9th and 10th were deemed on the young side for marriage, even though in their days it was common to marry as young as 14 or 15. All things considered, 10th young lord couldn't be more than 15-16 years old.
It's so nice to see a historical palace drama where the FL has such an amazing support system through her family and friends. While I'm sure in reality these situations were difficult to navigate, it's good to see stories where it can work to benefit so many people to just love each other and have each other's backs despite opposition.
What is funny is that she has the 'crying/screamer' role in the drama - I have to turn down the sound when she goes into a tantrum. So nice that her character gets on the right track and stops persecuting Li Wei.

I don't think anyone's mentioned it yet, but a great part of the pleasure I derive from this series comes from the stunningly beautiful Chinese architecture, the beautiful interior decoration style typical of these historical periods, and the gorgeous costumes the actors are wearing. Visually, all this makes the series a feast for the eyes! The musical score is also delightful, and the comedy exquisite. Very enjoyable. 👋🙂

The scene by the outdoor fire with grandpa is so poignant. The actor playing the grandpa does a wonderful and ever so natural role here. I love the older more mature actors in this series.

I hate to think about the day when this series is over. It is my all-time favorite of series, and I have watched a lot of them! Everything from the artistic and beautiful beginning of the show, to the music, the characters and actors and story line. I will be so sorry to leave this series. But I am very grateful that I have had the honor to have seen this series.

I really hate Madam He at this point. Her son achieves great things and contributes to the nation but the only thing she can tell him is that if you outshine too much it will cause trouble to you and your brother. She knows that Yin Zheng has eyes for Li Wei only but still she asks him to marry again, as if the previous forced marriage wasn't enough. It was saddening to see how Yin Zheng truly got excited and happy when his mother wished to talk to him privately. I don't know why she neglects her own son this much but whatever her reasoning is she doesn't deserve to call herself Yin Zheng's mother.

I think by this point, she's afraid to even TRY to build a bond because she knows she doesn't deserve to be his mother. She's also not pushing him on these issues she's bringing up because she doesn't feel like she's in a position to say anything. But also, I think she's legitimately afraid for him and his brother because she knows his achievements are only going to bring about the crown prince's wrath. And as a concubine, knowing how to make peace with those who hold power over her is literally the only survival tactic she knows, so that's obviously going to be the one piece of advice she can offer.
