  • Santana's turn-of-the-century resurgence provided a massive influence on my early guitar progress. "Smooth" burned up the air waves in 1999 and was my mainstream gateway to the classic Latin/Rock sound. Released in 1971, Santana III brought the addition of 17 year old Neal Schon (Journey), and featured "No One To Depend On" as the second single. This song's harmonized guitar intro, gang vocals and call-and-response guitar solo section creates multiple layers of Blues based tones. REMINDER: "One Take Weekly" includes No Overdubs - everything you hear is as presented by the video and expert mixing by Studiomaster, Richard Williams!
Special thanks to Richard Williams @ Plum Tree Recording Studio for engineering and mixing. One Take Weekly aims to present a sneak peek inside a studio recording session, each track performed and filmed in one take - imperfections & all. No overdubs, NO AUTOTUNE, and no trick-photography! (Just good mixing...& my nearly inept video editing skills) What you see is what you hear - CE.
