Yeah I decline every order below $5 and under $1 per mile (shown on the app). So really my goal is: Minimum if $5 per order, minimum of $0.5 per mile at the end of the night.
Personally I always take a delivery when it's heading in a good direction In my delivery zone the bulk of the orders are coming from an area where the resteraunts and the customers are in different city zones; a lot of the times up to 25 minutes away (one way). So if there's a restaurant on my way from the south end into the north end or just above where I'd like to get orders from, I'll take it. Same with if they send me up near home if it's the end of my shift.
I avoid all Red Card orders, for as a contractor I agreed to pickup, not pickout so far as I'm concerned! Anyhow I have noticed that as of recently that like good tips, DD now hides which orders are Red Card orders when presenting them to you, presumably for the reason of trying to trick more drives into accepting them.
So for taxes, you count miles in between deliveries? New subscriber, enjoying your videos. I owe $3,000 in taxes this year and I didn't save money through the year so I'm pretty screwed.
There have been times it does pay off. I would say no to back to back to orders and as soon as I think maybe I should of taken that last one just to keep busy, a much better one pops up and realize I would of missed this one.
Blake, if your red card didnt work and u were in the store already why not just pay for the item and request a refund from doordash just take a pic of the receipt and follow there email direction to process your refund. Order get completed and you go to the next one
@@edi5851 you literally have to send 2 emails, and can do it later when you get home lol. Just slide the card and finish the job to get paid for the time already spent.
I would have two problems with that. First I rarely have enough money on me. Just enough for gas. And second I'm just not laying any money out that I got to start chasing. I'm doing this to avoid stuff like that
With the self employment tax of about 15% you should be able to deduct half of that amount off your income tax Which would equate to being half of what your employer pays for, correct? That's what I've been seeing on tax websites I still gotta look more into it at irs website, But if that's the case your tax rate should be much lower than you are thinking it is overall.
The 1.50 a mile you shoot for .. Is that when it is taking you to an area with more restaurants ? What about when you have to drive back do you do 2.00 for that ? Do you only take 6.00 and above orders ?
I just run all three apps at once on my phone. If you want more in depth info and strategies I use check out my playlist titled “multi-apping tips” and there’s some good videos I’ve done on how I manage all 3 apps and even some on just managing Uber eats and doordash👍🏻
I'm still watching the video but decline now is just about bumping up the base pay by declining low offers, and accepting offers that hit your minimums. Mine for example is $7 minimum and $3/mile if I gotta do a full return trip. I decline anything under those numbers and only accept offers that hit those minimums. If I start declining offers that meet my requirements in search of a possible big order, now I'm cherry picking.
Hey would it be a bad business decision for door dash too give us 2$ per mile no matter what order using base pay combined with tips to make it equal 2$ then if a customer tips too much they keep minimum base pay. Its an idea that could work for us
@@TheFantasyFootballUniversity nope, they literally haven’t been a profitable company until they lowered the base pay. They’ve been losing about $300 million a year since they’ve been in business up until now so…🤷♂️
cherry picking is the way to go for me everyday of the week in my market
Nice! I like this strategy during the busy times too. I hate it when a wonky order messes things up!
I’m in the same area as you, and I’ve appreciated your tips.
Good to hear! Glad I’ve been able to help:)
I would earn zero dollars, I never get a single offer that qualifies.

My area is so random. Somtiems it’ll be $13. Sometimes it’ll be $3.50. It’s like really random
@@tjlevey378 my Cleveland area is consistent with orders that pay less than $5.75
I love it when you do a break down at the end of the video.
Good to hear🙌🏻

Its my second week delivering for door dash
thank you for the tips and advice 👍
Getting paid while driving home is smart.
Thanks for the vid cuz.

Doordash getting so bad about hiding tips I'm seeing them in 5.25 now
I thought it was just be....
Dash is getting CRAZY bad

stay safe out here have a great night
It works well all the time with a milage adjustment, as you mentioned.
Why cancel the order when you can pay out of pocket and get reimbursed within an hour or less
after all expenses/taxes - hitting over 20 dollars an hour is wonderful.

Good info, are you also buying health insurance?, Also it would be interested in you doing a 16 hour shift.
I watch video first then second I comment and like. nice video.
Thanks!
I never work peak pay hours because there are so many Dashers out at that time that orders are hard to get.
Ty for the video as always man 😎👍
This is my strategy pretty much everyday.
There have been times it does pay off. I would say no to back to back to orders and as soon as I think maybe I should of taken that last one just to keep busy, a much better one pops up and realize I would of missed this one.
I did a red card order once and I recall having difficulties checking out and I don’t remember how customer support resolved it but they were able to
My Red Card hasn't come yet, but I don't think that I'll accept those after hearing about all of the issues with them. 😳
How do you always make $40 an hour?? Do you not wait on the restaurant to make the orders ? Do you get another order right away ?
Blake, if your red card didnt work and u were in the store already why not just pay for the item and request a refund from doordash just take a pic of the receipt and follow there email direction to process your refund. Order get completed and you go to the next one
Too much work. The card should work every time

The $1.50 per mile is for my entire dash time. So that includes driving in between orders and what not
@@Moore.Driven Thanks … Do you recommend setting a minimum amount ?
How do you decline so many orders and have a low acceptance rate?
Weekends have actually been worse lately. I think because the market is so oversaturated and all the part-time workers come out on weekends.
Not what I’ve seen but that’s interesting
How do you safely decline orders while driving on Doordash?
Just let the timer run out or find a place to park so you can decline it
How do you do three apps at once?! I have DD and Uber and would like to do both.

i Know You Said it, But i’m Still a Little Confused. What is The Difference Between Decline Now & Cherry Picking?!

What are the average times you start and finish per day?
It’s different everyday tbh

Yes, doordash would go out of business
@@Moore.Driven how? They couldn't profit on talking 25 cents per order across the entire world and still be major profiting?

@@Moore.Driven how would it be possible to operate though if you're truly in the negative?
In my area it’s not worth it if it’s less than 3 dollars a mile
Dang what market is that?
And NEVER EVER EVER WALMART

😂😂😂
$14/hr, not bad chEf, nooodt 2 baad😑
