  • @neilbondad9477
    @neilbondad9477 Год назад +25

    I think he is far from his former self, you cannot afford those to errors in top level competition and at his age and eye sight it would be difficult for his aging body to handle the pressure especially if the match involve time pressure. Just like the saying goes "The mind is willing but the body is weak". Efren is really a super human because at his age right now he can still defeat quality opponents like this one, at this level of opposition yes he can dominate but to compete for the top level competition I think he is still capable but the chances of winning is very small.
    Our old pool hero still wants to play and show his bag of tricks to the audience and their will come a time that he will truly hang his sticks and call it quits, their will never be another Efren Reyes and his contribution and exploits to the world of pool is really phenomenal.

      Actually, surprisingly even the modern top players make "easy" mistakes from time to time, so he can afford a miss here and there, as long it isn't too often. And also he compensates it with incredible shots from difficult positions, which a lot of modern players aren't capable of doing to the same extent.

    The seven ball by Efren was an illegal shot.
    He was not frozen against the ball, as this would not have been an illegal placement of the cue ball.
    Then according to the rules when a cue ball and the object ball is separated by less than the distance of a piece of chalk if the shot (push) causes the cue ball to go over half the distance through the object ball without a masse then it's a foul.
    The technical aspects of the rule and the physics is that Efren actually hit the cue ball twice.

    As to Efren's play, I thought it was aggressive and skilled beyond belief. His shot choices and ball control seem unhuman and impossible sometimes.
    As to his age affecting his play, I don't see it. It's not like tennis. It's more skill than muscle and as long as he keeps playing, he'll (I hope), be just fine.
