    I bought the "TESLANG Resistance Bar, Heavy Duty Strength Training Bars for Resistance Bands" (was on sale one day for $30, but now it's $60) and it's been working great with the 1x12x18 inch cutting board ($27 Winco) and hockey pucks (~$13) for my foot plate, 1 1/2" wood screws, I put in 3. I bought 41" bands during Prime Day for under $30, Thine Fitness. So far, been good, but I am going to be buying the 32" bands for the close in movements.

    I'm very happy with my Winco Cutting Board, 12 by 18 by 1-Inch ($27) and hockey puck ($20) platform, DASKING Detachable Resistance Bands Bar 30"/35.4"/38.5" Lengths ($76), Malta Dynamics Fall Protection Carabiner Clip 2" Gate Tower Hooks for the big bands ($66 for two), and the entire range of Rubberbanditz bands ($200). Grand total $389.

    There is another bar similar to the x3 that you didn't mention. It's called the Prebene resistance bar. It has similar hooks, it is quite substantial and well built, and it is collapsible. The longer version is about 39" and can be shortened to around 26" by taking out a middle part. It's rated at 300 lbs, which is more than adequate for most people. I use it and get a great workout. Check it out

  • @surfinjim

    With most/all the available systems, the part of the bands between the carabiners doesn't get under the same tension. It often relains completely loose, or the band has to slide on the carabiner. Using rollers allows getting a more uniform tension across the band, and provides a smoother feeling. The friction os almost completely ruled out. These rollers can be attached to the bar with anything such as strong string.

  • @rayclark9643
    @rayclark9643 Год назад +4

    Bodylastics are the best bands made...they have a safety cord in the middle that keeps the bands from being overstretched and if one was to actually snap the safety band keeps you from taking a painful hit.

      I've covered those a bit on the channel and personally do like them, but got rid of them because I just was preferring loop bands. With that said, I've had a few viewers comment to me that they don't like them because according to them, they wear out fairly easy. I'd rank them up there though as the best tube bands.

    Instar bar with undersun bands, a door anchor, foot plate, and hook handles are doing great for me, yes it's mildly annoying to switch out bands but I don't find that I need to do that very often, the instar can handle heavy loads just fine without flexing or any indication of failure, I've been very impressed by it's sturdiness at that price point.

    I bought a set of cheaper Odoland bands on Amazon & I have had no issues with them & they came with a carry bag, door hook and handles with carabiner connectors.
    9 PC set in total.
    40$ ish.
    I found that the bands that don't have attached carabiner work better than the ones with the connectors attached
    I'd recommend bands with separate handles with the carabiners only on the handles not the bands themselves.

      THen you are dumb, sorry... go for the Harambe System. X3 is a waste of money, the items in themselves are okay, but you need extra for the small plate for it not to rib your bands, the bar is way too small for anything proper and will cramp your body for many exercises.
      Harambe is WAY better and it's not even close. It's your choice though. in any case, gl.

      What are your current thoughts? I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this bar but I also have under sun bands, so I was thinking of a set up similar to what you were using. Did you ever wind up getting the X.3? How do you like it compared to the J Bryant.

    • @kippzaugg635
      @kippzaugg635 Год назад +1

      @@13Ambro I have not bought the x3bar yet they have their black Friday sale going on for $150 off, so I'm thinking of getting it. The things I don't like about the j bryant bar are the hooks move in, so when you're doing certain exercises it digs into to your wrist and the fabric that holds the hooks will slide longer on one side so it makes the tension different so it's uneven. If you have the money I would get the x3 especially with the sale price right now.

    • @hybridresistance

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  Год назад +2

      There's a few variables to consider with your question (quality / longevity of the bar/bands,) but in general, if you got a decent pair of bands and a bar that will last, I think it just comes down to the effort you're putting in. Good practical question though!

    I bought x3 footplate protector plastic molds on ebay (i dont know what theyre called, but you know how the x3 has edges that might potentialy damage the bands)

    • @taylorpark3544
      @taylorpark3544 Год назад +2

      With lighter resistance bands for things like curls and such you can, however with heavier resistance bands the band force pulls your foot outward like a Vagus Foot position which will destabilize your footing and make it a lot easier to pull something in your back or neck when trying to stabilize yourself. This is especially prominent when trying to stand on bands barefoot when trying to train barefoot like outside.
      I stand on my lighter bands for curls, or lateral raises, etc with no issue, but once I reach a certain level of resistance I pull out my footplate to keep my feet firmly planted and my back stable for other banded lifts.
      I always encourage people to try it for themselves and you'll find out real fast with stronger resistance bands for deadlifts, bent over rows, overhead press, squats, etc.

    • @hybridresistance
      @hybridresistance  Год назад +1

      Yes, I address that in the "do you need a footplate" section towards the end of the video. It's not really necessary unless you're using heavy bands, but even with simple stuff like curls, I still think it just feels better with a board.
