- Before I started my recovery journey, I was paralyzed in anxiety to start decluttering. My nervous system sounded all the alarms that prevented me from starting! But I had to overcome that anxiety so I could start! Here is what helped me overcome that fear of Decluttering!
#home #motivation #declutter
Honestly, your videos help me overcome mine... Once I put them on, I get started & keep going... Thanks, Miss Heart!
Such a sweet comment ❤
Oh my goodness, you seriously made my day 🦄💜🌟🙏🏼🦄💜🌟🙏🏼 Please know that I will always cheer you on!!!
Same! I was feeling super anxious about my hoard this week. The video was perfect timing!
The decluttering is moving along. Pretty soon you’ll be able to design some enjoyable space in the basement for you. Your hubby has his workout 🏋️♀️ area. Your boys have their play area. So eventually you should have a crafting and designing area. And maybe a cat tower for Pepper to play. Hehe!
Ohhh yayyy!! I’m looking so forward to a crafting area ♥️♥️♥️
Maybe it helps going through some boxes with stuffs thats make you happy. Not to declutter, but to get the the feeling of feeling safe. As reminder that only the unnecessary stuff is going. Thats whats helped me in the past.
Such amazing sound advice, thank you so so much for sharing that with us 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
Our old coping methods- your hoarding- mine is different, have worked for years. I take out my gratitude journal and write about what I have and all the people who love me. We are all flawed, fallible, and human. Be kind to yourself. Tina, Al's wife
It will be fun to see all of your Hubby’s stuff together and then after he decluttered it all. He doesn’t even need to be on camera for that :).
I've been meaning to thank you for helping me. My social anxiety has been so bad for so many years that I have had almost no presence on the internet until I started commenting on your videos slowly over the years. Watching you heal and the likes I get from everyone for some of my ideas has inspired me to start my own channel soon. Just that confidence boost has been enough to make me want to share more of what i know and hopefully help someone who could use it.
You are such an inspiration my friend and I’m absolutely in awe of your dedication, your strength and your honesty!! Please let me know when you start your channel, I will subscribe immediately 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
❤ New camera? I can see this video so much better. Like which spot in the basement is the focus of the week.
Good job! I'm so proud of you! You are teaching hoarders who are willing to change HOW to change, one bin and one tossy tossy pile and one video at a time! 💜
You message made my heart so happy!! Thank you so much, that is my hope & prayer: to help others on their decluttering journey too 🦄🙏🏼🌟💜
For me anxiety in finishing comes from fear that I won't actually be as happy with the results as I think I will be, fear that after all that I'll feel empty. I think that's why joy in the journey is so important!
wow you're getting through so much stuff, well done! Miss Pepper is an excellent su-purr-visor!! 😻
Don't be afraid. You still have a lot of lovely things. The difference is just, that you know what's in each bin. ❤
Encouraging the viewers to just feel the anxiety and talk to themselves about how they are safe is great advice! Many try to give the advice to make anxiety go away, but I keep hearing from physiologists that it's better to learn to tolerate the anxious feelings rather than try to eliminate or avoid anxiety. ❤
I loved that you mentioned you are nit hoarding new items! What a great place to be in your life. You are THE best example of managing hoarding disorder. Blessings 🌻🍄
Well put. That anxiety is why a lot of PhD candidates put off finishing their dissertations for years/ever. "Who will I be after this is done?" (Do you have a bucket list. Maybe soon you can start checking off items!)
I just LOVE your message, so true!! I do have a bucket list for vacation and experiences but you really have my wheels spin to create a bucket list for my home!! Thank you for that 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
You know I'm only 4 or 5 paragraphs away grom finishing the discussion of my MSc thesis. I'm stuck there for 3 months already. Today's video has been perfect.
Wow this came at the perfect time for me as I just came upstairs from working on my declutter and like you I’m starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel but oddly have anxiety about it. It’s almost like an excuse for me not to socialize because I feel like I constantly have projects going and when I finish my years of decluttering, I won’t have that excuse. 😂 Thank you for your inspirational videos!
It's wonderful to see that you are in such a comfortable cleaning and organizing rhythm, able to use momentum and positive energy to keep at it.
You went through so amount of stuff. I’m looking forward to seeing hubbies declutter. Miss Pepper is a wonderful supervisor too. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏👍💪🙏💐🐈🦄
I appreciate you sharing your feelings. I don’t collect a lot of stuff, but I do overeat, and as you were talking I felt like those same principles apply to me in that sense. Love your channel. ❤❤❤
I have literally watched all your videos from the beginning since Dawn the Minimal Mom mentioned you one day. Thank you for always being motivation to help me continue on my journey. I have noticed sooooo many similarites in our thought processes. I have been slowly decluttering and organizing for years (I can't quite pinpoint the start) but something I've noticed that doesn't seem to bother you, is the actual giving of things. You have said that it makes you feel good to know someone else is getting use out of it. Unfortunately, for me that is one of the hardest parts. When I take my things to the donation centers I often feel my anxiety and panic rising the closer I get to the location. It's the reason my donations piles slowly build and just stick around for way too long. I don't let it hold me back and I have to talk myself through it and know that someone will get use of my things. I just wanted to share that struggle in case anyone else out there feels the same. Thanks for all your inspiring videos!!!
Great job doing more when you feel uncomfortable. Great job talking yourself through very difficult feelings and sharing your story ❤
Well done!!! You have inspired sooo many to do the same in their homes.
Oh yayyyyy!! That means so much to me!! Thank you ❤️🙏🏼❤️
You’re the best!! You always manage to hit the nail on the head about our emotions
I remember the first basement video and I'm just so proud of you
You've come along way
Thank you so much my friend!! It’s crazy to look back bc I feel like a completely different person 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
I'm excited!!! You've done great! But remember, no need to feel naked, you have the attic and the garage....❤😊

You are doing such a great job! It's always so inspiring to see your basement decluttering videos.
Thank you so much my friend, that means so much to me 🦄💜🙏🏼🌟🦄💜🙏🏼💜
You still have the attic! More layers to go.
I just wanted to say I appreciate you and your videos. I've never considered myself a hoarder, but I am definitely going through about of anxiety right now and hearing you talk about your nervous system and doing internal work is very helpful and comforting. Thank you for being awesome!
Love love love this… well I love the most is once we are done decluttering then you can start creating spaces.. paired with the home videos you already do so there’s no doubt in my heart I will keep watching you long after this basement is fully Done… maybe even some future craft videos who knows
The basement is looking so good!
While watching your video today, I tidied up my back patio. It was all tossy tossy!
❤ It's amazing to see your progress!
Thank you so so much my sweet friend 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
I’m so excited for you to get that last little bit done! You’re doing so well!! I’m just curious will you be doing the attic after the basement done or do you have another area in mind? Whatever it is I’m so excited to see what comes next! Your videos always get me so excited when I see them on my feed. Keep up the great work!!
Good Question!!! Definitely the attic is on the list!! But I really want to start DeCluttering other people’s homes too!! 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼

Those winter tops were cute!
You’ll be so happy to have an amazing new space to grow and have experience’s with your family! You are doing amazing ❤
Yesssss!!! I am looking so forward to having new opened space 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
I was born in 90 and we must be about the same age because all your clothes, colors, ideas, crafts, it’s like we could’ve been the same brain. Down to the ADD combination type. Oooo we would have so much fun 😂😂 if we were neighbors too I would be the one buying everything at your yard sale 😅 and I’m more particular about what I keep, only difference, but still your stuff is/was sooo good! I love your HEART!
You are letting go of sooo much! This is so inspiring! 🥰
Another fantastic job, I'm trying to make sure I put clothes away soon as there dry
Ya know Ms heart that area you just cluttered seemed like a perfect place to put all of your husband's stuff together. It'll make it easier for him to declutter at one go too cause most men I know just hates redoing stuff.
It's like the bags are the new ribbons
You inspire me! Thank you!!!
Very proud of you!
Incredible, you should be so proud of yourself!! ❤
Another great job! 💜
It is so satisfying watching your journey!
I'm making great progress in my basement. I've Decided that some of my values and habits have changed in the 14 years since we bought this house. I don't have to store things like I did before.
You are my inspiration every day Miss Heart!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Huge tossy congratulations very fantastic job 💜🦄
Digging the one-eye liner 😂 Keep up the good work !
Yay!! Looking forward to your videos each week! 😊🙌🎉
Ohhh yayyyy!! Your message made my heart so happy 🦄💜🌟🙏🏼
Thank u for posting
Keep it up, rockstar! 🌟💪💕
Your decluttering journey is a proof that the seemingly impossible is possible and that is very reassuring for your viewers. The outcome is really starting to show now and that is amazing.
So True!
Your doing great…..😊❤️
Yay, doing great as always! Have a lovely weekend! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much my dear friend 🦄💜🌟🙏🏼 I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!!
has nothing to do with hoarding but i think the pastel colours suit u very well. i would love to see the pastel violet knitting pullover on you soon
You've made so much progress❤ you're an inspiration! Cheers from Ontario Canada. 🧡🍁🎃🍂🍄❤
Hello my beautiful Ontario Canada 🍁🇨🇦❤️ Thank you so much for your sweet message!!
You are doing so amazing honey
❤❤
Memories of my family that have passed. So many family members are gone and I miss them so maybe that is what my issue might be because I try not to let go of them. I try not to hoard now but there is so much stuff. If I don't get it out of my home then more mess comes
♥️
I loved the tone of voice you used to remind your Hubby that he was going to do his turn on decluttering....I have used that tone with my husband too. (P.S. hope it works better for you then it does me. ) LOL
Lol!!! We shall soon find out if it works my friend 😉❤️🥰
I love your thought process! 💖
Thank you so much my friend 🦄🌟💜🙏🏼
❤😊
I used my plastic bag hoard to fill my kid’s beanbag chair that had gotten a little flat
i would start keeping the out of season clothing upstairs! less work!
When it comes to you editing your videos, does it ever effect your decision on the stuff you did already declutter? Like did you declutter something and then put it back to keep or even vice aversive?
Ms Heart I love that you explained you still feel exposed and have some anxiety now you are getting to near to the end of clearing out the hoard. It normalises this for others and lets people know this is OK to still feel that way. Perhaps if you take a quick peek in all the boxes you are keeping it will reinforce how far you have come in your journey and how many items you still have. That may reinforce the idea that it is only things you no longer love or cherish that you are decluttering and that all the items which make you feel safe are still safely contained and stored in the basement.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How do I decide which section to Declutter?
😊
I really want to see a hubby declutter would he be ok with only seeing his lower body and completely doing a voice over so you can’t hear anything he says. That way all we will see is a person on screen?
Or what if you set up the camera and he is behind and you hold up the items and he tells you what stays and what goes?
Please let him know we have no judgement we just like seeing the declutter.
💗💗💗💗 you are doing such a good job
What's it feel like to have to totally swap out clothes? I live in Louisiana, so I don't have to do that. I mean, it gets cool, sometimes cold, but for the most part, I stay in tshirts. I do have some fleece lined leggings and long sleeve shirts, but I don't have to do a regular complete swap. I think it would stress me out. And one day, me and hubby want to move up north...
Hi!🦄
As a visual organizer, Miss Butterfly, I wonder if you are able to display the items that you kept in a very visual and beautiful way if that would fill that empty space and give you that comforting cocoon that you are missing?
I only mention it because I am very much that way in my home. I used to have a need for so much more stuff, but now I fill some of the space with a very brightly colored wall and art and all of my items display really loudly on shelves. Like all of your shelves that you decorate in the upstairs and your bedside table. Could you even do this with the basement? Have your favorite color accent wall with your items displayed prominently on shelves? I have no idea if this will bring you the same Comfort that it brings me. I can’t do called empty space, but I feel really energized and comforted by my objects when they are displayed where I can see them, with colorful and playful wall colors behind. It might be too much for some people, but for me it is soothing, like being surrounded by good memories and great friends.
I do still deal with a lot of anxiety in general and the things you said this video were very helpful. Look at whether I’m actually in danger and when I realize I’m not trying to identify what happened in the past to make me feel so anxious in the situation. And to try to heal it.
I really love how we help each other on this channel.
I truly LOVE your message, you truly understand me!!! I have currently been reading about maximalism and I LOVE how people decorate in their rooms! I also read somewhere that ADHDers need messy spaces to be creative and I always create better when I’m surrounded by visual stimulation 🦄💜🌟🙏🏼 Now we just have to curated it so it looks nice!!!
@@ahoardersheart 🥰✨❤️ kindred spirits ❤️
I think you’re going to have a lot of fun with your maximalist space. I love brightly colored walls because you don’t have to tidy them, but they make a big impact.
Do u look at your items bcz of incidents that have happened or do u look at the stuff like OMG there is so much stuff.
I was decluttering my garage and found a giant bag of plastic bags .. i don’t even remember saving it 🤦♀️ it was taking up tons of space i thought it was full of clothes or something.. dear goodness
I'm a ex. Jersey girl and come from 6 generation of Hoarders😢
First
I want to see your intro sound become a TikTok sound and people using it to show their declutters...
🫶🏻
When are you going to have a yard sale? You have enough to have a good one.
Do you think maybe your anxiety comes from the fact that you will have to pivot in your youtube content once all the hoard is gone ?
❤
