Race: Amtrak 236 vs Metro North Express

- 09/01/17 Amtrak Empire Service train 236 blasts down the city portion of the Hudson Line at 10:30 am, followed closely by Metro North Express train 846 shoving furiously.
Amtrak 236 is led by GE Genesis P42DC 114 with P32AC-DM 710 bringing up the rear. Metro North train is led by Shoreliner cabcar 6217 with P32AC-DM 222 shoving. Next stop on 236 is Grand Central Terminal. On 846 it's Harlem-125 Street. Enjoy!
That platform is terrifyingly narrow.

That’s not fair, the amtrak had two genesis locomotives! The metro north only had one! Hardly a race
The Metro North engine was doing more work but both trains had a speed limit of 60 mph. Thanks for watching!
