    3 BWR’s under my belt, have never seen the leading group besides the short time under police escort in the neutral starts...to finish top 100 in any BWR is another level but the fact that you finished 26th is legendary. I’ve said it for years, in order to win a BWR you are getting paid to ride your bike. To finish 26th and not be on a payroll in some manner somehow related to the industry is so mind blowing. To “ride” and finish a BWR is challenging for a person that rides 3-4 days a week. To be in “race” mode in a BWR is for the elite bike racers of this world. You have proven you are one of those guys and gals with this effort. Great stuff and please keep doing what you’re doing.

    That pressure was way too high for your tires Tyler (you probably lost a lot of energy on those gravel sections, I also do think rear tail lights should be mandatory as well (event organizers should prioritize safety), an unseen cyclists is an unsafe cyclist. bummed about you not feeling well but thank-you for sharing.

    • @jaspreetsidhu5708
      @jaspreetsidhu5708 3 года назад +3

      @JavierFernandez I'm a crit racer,a mountaineer/ trad climber, and a pharmacist. I'm on both ends of the spectrum daily life and sport. There are inherent risks to racing (you crash, the guy next to you crashes etc, climbing is no different the individual makes the decision in both situations). But when you're racing a course with flying dirt+ debris and you can't see someone, the difference between someone being in a stretcher and going home to their family could be the difference between seeing a flashing red light and being able to react a hundredth of a second, it's different in a crit where you're elbow to elbow with another rider, they go down, there isn't anyway for you to react, you're going down, but the guys behind you and pulling up to the crash can still see you). Life's about risk mitigation. I didn't say anything about them not being able to race. It's about the good for the whole collective. I assume you're the same kind of person who doesn't wear a mask because it's his choice not to, rather than worry about the others around them.

    • @jaspreetsidhu5708
      @jaspreetsidhu5708 3 года назад

      @JavierFernandez check the posted links below, seems like the organizers do require lights). I've seen similar injuries in gravel racing as I have in crit racing, punctured lungs, damaged femur heads, contusions, and hemorrhages. Pretty much blunt trauma/ penetration injuries/ and superficial injuries. You are n=1, as am I my co-wrokers have seen the same thing as me, (I did rotations in emerg and in ICU, we deal with high trauma).
      We've had people helicoptered in gravel riding, as we have in road racing. You're right I did say mandatory, and yes it does imply you shouldn't be able to race without it but have you ever seen a waiver? You refuse to ride with a light you may have to pay for damages, waive your right to sue etc (some of which are already included in the current waiver I'm assuming)...... No idea why you got so triggered over a comment, instead of arguing do you not see some validity in my point? If one racer was able to avoid a crash that was preventable is that not a win? We both race, we both accept the risks, the only difference being if the province made regulations outside of what the UCI stated here, and they made sense almost all of the guys we race with here would most likely go hey sure why not it's not doing me harm. There's inherent risk and then there's unnecessary risk, you should always minimize your unnecessary risk.

    So glad that the outcome of the race was so good. Ofc you could have reduced the PSI, but that is hindsight. I really enjoyed the pre race blog, it seems that your visit to the course did pay off in some stages. Super explaining for the way the race went. I enjoy your channel, I don't ride, but you give me the feeling I belong to the cyclist scene. Thx again.

    Beyond Stoked For Ya - Really Thought That You Were Further Behind From The Your Descriptions Early On - Sure Wish I Was Available To "support" With A Bottle Or Two Along The Way - And Wish You Had Dropped Tire Pressure But Overall, Well Done - Really Appreciated The Daily Efforts Leading Up - Fantastic Edits Here During The Race - Safe Travels And Ride Bikes Bro - Again, Well Done
    Cheers

    Fantastic video and great narrative. A bummer, that the GoPor died so early. Keep on riding...! :)
